@@NailedProductions So is this how it works? I will send these steps to him if this is how it has to happen in order to get the SQ channels sent over to the QU board.
      Output Steps:

      1) (SQ) Go to I/O and route STAux1-7+MainLR outputs to sLink channels 17-32

      2) (QU) make sure dSnake input patch is 1-1

      3) (QU) Go to input patch and change 17-32 to dSnake (yellow)

      4) (QU) bring up ch 17 to unity in mix 1 and 18 to mix 2 (now QU-mix1 output is SQ-Mix1L and Qu-mix2 output is SQ-Mix1R)

5) (QU) Continue through the rest of the input channels for the rest of the mixes.

      6) (QU) For STEREO mixes on the QU make sure to pan the input stereo pair of channels Left and Right in the mix.

      7) (QU) deslect the 'on' button for all other mixes and LR mains (don't accidentally turn up channels in the main L/R or other mixes)

      8) (QU) do this for all other channels/mixes.

9) (QU) label everything!

Hi, i use qu pad app. And i want to use auxes seperatly. If i volume up the group 1-2, then my monitors which is plugged in to 1-2 output is also volumes up. But i want to make them seperate like aux1 is different and aux 2 is different. So after that, i can send volumes and effects seperetly.

Any idea why a Qu16 would have good clean audio out of the LR main but not the main USB line? I’m working on multitrack in audacity but still want a stereo mixdown, which, for whatever reasons, in my audacity testing cones through super low and high noise. But XLR LR to 3.5mm input to PC works..
Happen to know if USB B streaming can be linked so it’s the same as LR? Or should it be and something is wrong? I have heard of many usb issues w these, after buying unfortunately (but can still return for a PreSonus StudioLive or something else...)
Thanks for all the info here tho! I’m drowning in info rn lol, just upped from a Zed14 sooo ya

Any soundboard can have USB issues.
Did you test with a USB drive?
What is the mains L/R at on the dB meter when recording?

I got tired of my analog set up with my sound craft mixer and patching equalizers and compressors and gates all the time. So I bought the QU 16. I was wondering if you knew how to operate that mixer so that I could use it in the same way? I don’t want to use the mixer as the interface via USB. I’d like to run my 8 to 10 microphones into the inputs of the QU 16, utilize all of the processing power for each channel, and then send each one of those channels out to my apogee converters. I can’t quite figure out how to get each channel to go to one respective output. Just for the sake of total clarity, if I have the kick on channel 1, I want to process it with the gate, EQ, compressor and then go out channel one into my apogee channel 1. And so on and so forth with each individual mic that is on the drum kit. How do I route that inside the QU 16? Sorry for the long comment, but you seem to have a great grasp on the routing of these mixers and I am really stuck. Any info you could provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

QU series doesn't have the most flexible routing capabilities (SQ has full matrix, & more processing).
I'd consult the video series A&H-UK did for an overview th-cam.com/video/Q9P-Om8UBe4/w-d-xo.html
      ---
      www.allen-heath.com/media/Qu-16-block-diagram_V1.8_1.pdf
If staying fully digital you can take the CH direct out (select global DO pick point to post delay, follow mute, follow fader).
      ---
As far as sending each output after processing to the apogee...
You'd have to send each input to a mix (panning L/R as needed for the ST-Mix) and take the mix output.
There will be some discrepancies between mixes for latency which will cause the recording tracks to be slightly off (not enough to really matter).
I don't see another way unfortunately.
      ---
A SQ5 would have been much better for you.
I wish SQ series would come down in price and QU series would go away. QU just has too many little things lacking that could be easily solved.

@@NailedProductions thank you so much for the reply, it’s much appreciated and definitely helped me out. I see what you’re saying about the difference between the SQ and the QU. I would love to see someone build a mixer that was nice and simple for the studio. Maybe 12 inputs running through channel strips just like the QU or SQ, and then have those fed right to outputs, so you could use your higher end converters like I want to do. Essentially a full-service mixer for the studio. I don’t know maybe that’s a stupid idea 🤷🏻😂

      @@TheGarageRecordingSC
You really wouldn't want to do that because you're converting 3 times between AD-DA-AD. Effectively eliminating any benefit of the 'higher end converters'.
It's better to use the hardware mixer for in-the-box mixing using the Mackie Control Protocol
      ---
Send the inputs to the apogee then keep it USB into and out of the QU if you want to use the QU DSP.
That way there aren't additional conversions.
