I was a police officer in the Nashville area when the bombing of the AT&T building. The 911 system failed. Dispatch could see who called but they could not talk to them. We spent the entire day responding to 911 calls from citizens that were just "scared". We had to respond to every call since dispatch did not have a way to know what the problem was. Every citizen that I spoke with was scared, confused and totally lost.

Most failures are good learning experiences. Has that failure been addressed so there will not be a repeat malfunction?
It may be as simple as to advise folks to have an emergency radio for general information.
It may be to inform folks to have the police ban on their cellphone. Hopefully everyone doesn’t have AT&T cellphone service.
It may be good to have a system similar to a neighborhood watch program except it will be a neighborhood call/community program.
Stop your vehicle if the street and announce over the squawk box, all those who heat this message please come out for a community update.
Have an emergency tv broadcast explaining the situation. Repeat this his procedure up and down the roads.
The first rule of order in any emergency, this will be difficult for those who have never encountered a real emergency, IS DON’T PANIC until the situation is controlled or over, then they can panic.
You can bet the public, especially those who called appreciate your dedication to responding to calls.
      Schools is always in session.

If they're getting welfare, EBT, free housing, cell phones, medical, cash and they're still robbing people to get free shiet, they will most definitely kill us for half a candy bar in a shtf situation.
Look at how they get together to swarm big stores so they can steal shit they don't need. Imagine 40 of them swarming your house to take what you have so they don't starve to death.
They'll most likely torture us as well. For no other reason then our skin color or because we're better prepared. They'll convince themselves that it's unfair they got free shit and didn't save any of it whereas we worked hard and saved enough food/water to get by for a while.
As crappy as it sounds just know that they'll go after the weak links first. Those weak links are the Whyte liberals that voted for this communist utopia. I hate violence but I'll get some satisfaction knowing that the last thing a lot of these liberals will see is a horde of joggers kicking their door in and doing God knows what. They probably even think if they yell "I'm on your side" they'll let them live.
After all, they they're just getting the results they voted for.

I have had multiple personal SHTF situations due to snow, ice, flood, serious arthritis, viruses. I'm also 68. Everything that I have prepped for I have used (not used up) one way or another. My garden has been tilled and a new raised bed and one kiddie pool planted. It took me a while to dig a few holes for my blueberry/blackberry plants. I had to hire someone to dig the holes for 2 new fruit trees since I live on a rock pile. I home can everything I can afford. Antibiotics...a few car parts, back up heat. This didn't happen overnight. I have been working on my supplies for two years. Defense? 110 pound dog and projectiles. Three years ago I would never have believed what I could accomplish. I am not rich, I watch the sales, don't spend money on unnecessary items.

With the numerous crises, SHTF and deaths with people at work (healthcare/hospital/clinics/community level, all preps are not used much, unused, damaged, lost/stolen...etc....not worth the stress/years building up.
I'd just be kind/giving to everyone around, especially my love ones. Those people are the ones that will help you when SHTF. All other preps are really not needed. Focus on living a happy/short life, with love ones, and ready to go whenever God calls.

When a scratch or cut getting infected or an abscessed tooth can kill you and basic hygiene becomes a matter of life and death, a person who knows how to make soap, pull a tooth, or medicinal herbs will be worth more than all the lawyers and bankers in the world. People with professions, abilities, knowledge, and even hobbies that translate into, or are themselves useful skills in a post-consumer, post-industrial world will always find a place.

I was able to survive on those preps while I worked and got more money/ food/ medicine. I had to buy a new car and now I live in my car and I rely on my sleeping bag I prepped and the car maintenance things I also prepped. I knew this was a possibility but didnt think it would actually happen. I thought my family like grandparents would help me but they're so afraid of him and Im scared for them so I keep my distance. One trick for dealing with human waste is simply to dig a post hole as deep as you can make it. Put waste in, add a little lime & cover with a small amount of dirt. Refill the hole in this fashion but plan on filling the last 8 to 12 inches with dirt. If you can smell it add more dirt & lime between layers. It shouldn't stink. Make sure that these holes are on high ground not right next to a water source like a creek or pond.

Just don't take them if your on a blood thinner. 2) Stock up on B12 if you have no protein sources. 3) Have jugs of water and have bleach on hand, to sterilize water and disinfect surfaces. 4) Toileting: buckets, rags (e.g., old tee-shirts or painters rags, sheets) for toilet paper. Wash and RInse and drop into another bucket with a small amount of bleach to soak.

I know where I am going after I die. I’m ok with dying. That doesn’t mean I’ll be stupid, or that I won’t prepare so I can live for as long as I can. But it does mean I will not cross moral boundaries to extend my life for a little while.

How my grandfather would go into town to try & find work or sell or trade something. If he couldn't find work or anything he'd have to hurry home to go hunt & hunt anything ie groundhog, opossum, rabbit, squrle...anything. like you said, all the deer were pretty much hunted out. The worst was when my grandfather killed two men he digging up a potato garden he had planted in a field near where he & my grandmother lived. The potatoes was to get them through the winter. Grandma never said what they did with the bodies, but they lived far enough out & in the 1930's who would miss a couple of drifters in those hard times. Today the population is so much larger, & the kinds of people we have now, I don't like to think about it. 😢 end of days...?

Pretty good video I think. One thing to look forward to will be no taxes. That's a plus. Hopefully there'll be no Washington DC when the dust clears.
We've been totally off grid for 27 years now. Pretty much perfected everything supporting us at home, so people talk about how to deal with things which will go away with grid down that are everyday life to us. Sometimes I feel like the Harpers out in the sticks when people talk about the potential ills of off grid life - and yet, that really does defines everyday life for us. And it's not so bad, really. We have everything you do - it's just that I'm my own utility. If it breaks, I fix it. I made everything and so I know how it works. What a journey. Wouldn't trade it for the best penthouse in Manhattan.
And then I got bit by that damn prepper bug. Oh Jesus. Now we have all of the above along with thousands of gallons of propane, diesel and firewood up the yen yang. A half acre garden and a chicken pen with, literally, too many chickens in it. Enough weapons and ammo to outfit an army and plans, oh Christ, plans like you wouldn't believe for protection, for the nuclear war, for.... well you name it and I've likely planned for it. I just lost a ton of whole corn to bugs and it didn't bother me a bit - just am feeding it to the chickens and thinking about how to replace it so it'll be safe next time. We're to the point that tragedies aren't tragedies. Same shit, different day.
We have the community wide network with radios and weapons and plans. We've even thought about our local valley governance once we get re-established like you're talking about.
Lately, I've been thinking about the long, long term after SHTF. Now there's a disconcerning issue for you. What do you do when the sugar for your coffee runs out? Aw crap. Hoards of zombies I can deal with, but no sugar for my coffee - that's going to be an issue.
And I still dont feel totally prepared. It's like some sort of compulsive disease. I can tell you this - if we dont make it, no one is going to make it. (just dont show up here, please).
A word of advice for people with wells - there are solar systems available that will pump nine ways to Sunday right off of a solar panel - provide you with, literally, thousands of gallons of water daily and they're cheap - like 2.5K to 3K set up (well ... if you do the set-up part). That would really solve your water issues if you're rural - AND give you something to barter like crazy.

I try to prep what I can without upsetting her but I also hope nothing catastrophic happens until after she is gone from natural causes. This situation definitely messes with my mental resources sometimes.

@@helenkessler6012 Cut all soda, carbonated drinks, sugary drinks. Avoid sugared foods, go for fruits and veggies to replace that. Ashwagonda, but it has drawbacks as a supplement, and so the real root to that plant is better. Dandelion root, and more. Do a parasite cleanse, meaning your HBP could be caused by parasites. A majority of Americans think we are exempt from parasites, but we are not. It is in tap water, our foods, and leads to a number of health conditions including and not limited to HBP. There is a reason you don’t see these conditions in Africa and Asia. It’s a longer topic than I want to type out. However, the food in USA is not healthy, and not even meats with growth hormones, and even if labeled as not having it, it can still have it.

I absolutely agree on the importance of cleanliness. And on that note, soap is something that almost anybody can make. I recommend looking into it. Having soap in a SHTF situation could mean the difference between living and dying. Getting even a cold could be the thing that breaks you or a loved one in an already extremely stressful situation.

People freak out when SHTF, then they normalize. It was like that in Baghdad in 2004/05, and it always amazes me how quickly a community adapts to a new paradigm. Yeah, it is stressful at first, and there are those that can't make it through, but society always seems to find a way. The movie Schindler's list is a good example of social adaptation under increasingly dire conditions. There's no prep for that sort of thing, you just have to learn how to accept what is happening and get past it. Papillon was similar.

ABOUT GASOLINE - I know a guy that has a background in refinery work. He keeps gasoline in very large propane tanks that he pressurizes and says it will last for years. I don't know if he uses compressed air or an inert gas. He explained why it works once but I can't recall the technical reasons. He has a stock pile of gasoline stored like this and it was expensive, so I don't think he just did it for fun and wasted that kind of money. I don't even know how he got unleaded fuel in there since there's not exactly a large opening in the tank... they're just what looks like normal 100 lb propane tanks from Tractor Supply. If you google this, some will say it will shorten the life of gasoline. But others say that's because normal air is used. Perhaps he is using nitrogen or the tank is just extremely full with a small gap of air at the top. I can imagine the oil/gas companies would want to hush this method if it's viable. Has anyone tried this?

There is so much to cover in these situations, and you did a good job of covering many of them. You touched on human waste, disease, and the like. One thing many will not consider in advance, is what to do with the dead. Thousands of people may perish in one of these unfortunate situations, and depending on your local population density may or may not become a huge issue. Proper burial practices can help stave off much disease, predators, etc. Water supplies must not be allowed to be come toxic. In any case, death, burial/cremation records should be kept, with the hope that the situation is not permanent. One thing I have done is buy used fishing gear and crab traps as they become available, not so much for me, but rather unfortunates that come across my place. Also I have solar showers, and laundry soap stocked up for use with a 5 gallon pail and plunger. I also have some solar capable of recharging phones, and MP3 players. A hot shower, clean clothes, some fish or fowl, and some tunes will go a long way to keeping a positive outlook, as things (ideally) improve. I am glad I was able to move to an island approximately 30 miles to sea, into a rural community of perhaps 1,500. We have plenty of fresh and salt water. There are deer in the yard, elk, fish, crabs, prawns, geese, ducks, quail, etc. I'm 3/4 a mile from the ocean, 170' in elevation. You had mentioned propane, if you are near water, there are propane powered outboard motors. I've had one, and they work fine. I am looking into an electric bike, and using solar to recharge them.

What I like most about these videos is I imagine we’re having a conversation about shtf and what all we’d do and such. The setting would be like at deer camp or camping w the fellas and talking around the fire at night over a few beers. Man conversations that can deeper the more alcohol involved or not bc the woods and a fire at night can cause some much needed reflection and validation from other humans about your concerns and actually at least doing something proactive instead of just sitting around worrying and too stressed to think straight and what’s worse is that I think many peoples first mental picture of shtf starts w some cataclysmic event that is either immediate destruction or a move to a mad max kind of world Thunderdome and all or it’ll be consecutive nights of the living dead or nearly dead from starvation or wounds or dehydration or a million other things and we’ll be mowing them down w the 5 million rounds we’ve been amassing for ten years. The truth I think unless it’s nuclear war next week or something that it will be and already is a slow agonizing death from a thousand papercuts and possibly a grandfinle festival of hell unleashed in the form of mass deportations and the ruthless slaughter of protestors and a witch hunt w a number of grisly public executions some where the audience gets to join in and physically take part in these executions and tortures of course. Then a fierce and quickly built although disorganized like the paratroopers in The Normandy area and wherever else the night before D-Day. Scattered mostly small groups and individuals on their own until hopefully stumbling into some of his own troops and gradually enough gather to begin a real offensive to link up w bigger forces and until the psychopath scum pedo greedy manipulative nasty fuckers running the show at the moment are wiped out or at least sent packing for good and we get some men with integrity that value freedom and respects and believe in our constitution especially the the Bill of Rights that have so lately been abused and eroded and that remain under threat as we speak.
