    Thank you, your video was easier to follow than the factory video. Straight and to the point.

    Hey Brian,
    don't worry about the little higher Voltage of you ESU Command Station output to the tracks, it does not matter.
    DCC is different to DC and the Command Station gives your decoder via DCC the order not to have an higher Voltage than 12 Volts or than of what your motor will allow to have in maximum.
    Other european DCC Systems using up to 21 Volts track power in N Scale and the DCC Locos did not burned out, so don't worry about of that.
    With your ESU Command Station you have got a very well and best available quality product, for myself a little bit too expensive, so I do use the Roco/Fleischmann z21 Start Command Station with WiFi Router which is using 21 Volts DCC track power by up to 3 Amperes, only. I use my H0n30 locos with my DCC System without problems either.
    Some of my H0n30 Locos are based upon N Scale Locodrives.
    H0n30 (H0e) and N Scale using the same track gauge of 9 mm.
    Please have lot of fun with your ESU Wifi Cab and ESU Command Station.
    ESU does have lot of excellent digital decoders and sound decoders, too.
    Happy Railroading,
    Ingo R.

    This is a great product. Had mine for 3 yrs now. Just wish ESU did more vids like Tsunami guys do

      Yep, me too. ESU does have some videos, but they are short and not super detailed.

    That system is really cool. I like the mix of technology with the android device and the thumb/twist throttle

      @brianpagemodeltrains  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I like the system design, it requires less attention than using an actual phone for a throttle.

    I like it... im jealous... if im ever in Texas.... surprised that u cant read dcc voltage in AC mode... have fun. Keep us updated. Something tells me ull be programming decoders in a short time.

      @brianpagemodeltrains  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rick - If I could split open the power supply and find a ground point, I could read 1/2 of the AC voltage from track to ground, but it's brand new. I'll wait for the RRampMeter to get here. I'll have to get good at installing decoders in N scale. If you're ever in Texas, you better stop by!

    Bonjour Brian , trés bien et merci pour la traduction !
    J'ai commandé cette Cab Control et je l'attends avec impatience en craignant la mise en service sans notice en français .😀

    • @FBMRR
      @FBMRR 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brianpagemodeltrains nooooo dont go that far. You should be able to set your meter to AC and put the probs on each track. A DCC signal registers as AC power.

    • @brianpagemodeltrains
      @brianpagemodeltrains  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FBMRR That's what I thought also, but I'm getting something ridiculous like 3 volts AC across the tracks. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

    I am really impressed with the reviews of the ESU system but a new entrant into the world of DCC. Probably a dumb question but when you purchase a loco which is "DC/DCC Ready" do you have to purchase specific decoders from ESU to make the loco work on the ESU system or will other decoder say from Digitrax work as well? I notice you are modelling with Kato which is going to me go to locos where possible, but I know I will likely end up with other brands as well, particularly with steam locos. Appreciate any guidance. Thanks

    • @brianpagemodeltrains
      @brianpagemodeltrains  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Gary - I currently have No locomotives with ESU decoders. The ESU Cab Control system will allow any decoder to be used. The only caveat to that is you have to manually program the locomotive with the non-ESU decoder into the controller, but it only takes a few minutes. This is not a problem for me, because I change my decoder addresses to the locomotive cab numbers anyway. If you happen to have a locomotive with an ESU decoder, you could set it on the track and the ESU controller would automatically add it into the system. But I have not seen very many ESU decoder devices yet, at least not in my area. ESUDCC has a channel on TH-cam at th-cam.com/users/ESUDCC. I watched all the newer Cab Control videos there before I bought the system, it was a big help.
      Hope that answers your question - Anything else, let me know!

    Nice video! ESU makes great stuff, but their designs always leave a bit of head-scratching (I think the Cab Control would work better with the screen above the knob). Did you get just the Cab Control or are you look into the ECoS?

      I just got the CabControl, throttle and power supply. For my little layout, it works.
