You said you were story focused, I think you’ll really enjoy Arkham City (game right after this one) it has commonly been said to be one of the greatest Batman stories of all time! I agree, I’m a big fan. Loving your playthrough!
Fun fact: the inmate at 18:36 is Luke Oliver he won a contest and the prize was that he’d be featured in the game somewhere ☺️ Edit: and also his name is featured on the bottom of the party list at 52:44
57:50 Yeah, Mr. Freeze is one of the most tragic Batman villains. But up until 1992, he was just a mad scientist turned ice-based villain. It was Batman the animated series that reinvented the character's origins in the Emmy award-winning episode "Heart of Ice". You should check it out. And I know you don't react to TV shows but I would love to see your reaction to Batman the animated series and the rest of the DCAU(DC animated universe). When it comes to DC the live-action movies suck. I mean there are some good Batman movies but still, the DCAU blows the live-action movies completely out of the water.
I would love to watch the Animated Series but I've never done reaction content to TV or Movies before so might need to watch some to see how they get around the legalities haha!
Well, Harley and Ivy are a thing depending on who is writing. Which makes zero sense in the context that Ivy is incapable of caring about anything that isn't plant life and that Harley is a psychopath with dependency issues. But originally, they simply teamed up a few times and for the most part their relationship was strictly professional. Then, later in some comics and shows they are a pair. However, as of this game they are currently just acquaintances and there's really nothing deeper than that.
@lovelessdogg1 the point is that the relationship makes them both better, Harley learns positive models for relationships and how to not be codependent, and ivy learns to reconnect with her humanity
57:43 No, the corporation Victor Fries was working for was called GothCorp and the CEO responsible for Victor's condition is called Ferris Boyle. The reason Mr. Freeze blames Batman is because he stopped Victor before he could kill Ferris.
Yeah, it didn't really explain it so I wasn't too sure :) Thank you for clarifying! I also have read your comments regarding the character backgrounds of Joker etc! Thank you for taking the time to go into such detail!
19:34 That person in the cell, is the villain Basil Karlo AKA Clayface. Basil was an actor who was driven mad when he heard of a remake of the classic horror film he had starred in, Dread Castle, and that he wouldn't be in the leading role. Adopting the persona of "Clayface", the villain of one of his old films, he became a serial killer targeting the cast and crew. He was eventually stopped by Batman and Robin (the first Robin AKA Dick Grayson who is now Nightwing to be specific because there have been 5 Robins). Later versions of the character reimagined him as being transformed into a behemoth of shapeshifting, clay-like flesh. After that, because Clayface had one of the most convoluted origins in comics, he was reinvented in Batman The Animated Series as an actor named Matt Hagen who had been disfigured in a terrible car accident. While recovering in a burn clinic, he was approached by the corrupt industrialist Roland Dagget, who made him a test subject for a compound called "Renuyu" (pronounced "Renew You") that he promised would immediately restore his young good looks. In payment, Hagen impersonated people in an illegal manner for Daggett. Hagen greatly resented this, but was forced to comply, as the Renuyu chemical was extremely addictive and Daggett was the sole producer. Hagen then attempted to steal a large amount of Renuyu from Daggett's factory. He was caught by Daggett's henchmen Germs and Raymond Bell, who tried to kill Hagen by pouring an entire vat of the chemical on to his face. Instead, the overdose saturated every cell in Hagen's body, altering his appearance to a bulky and misshapen clay-like form who can, for brief periods of time, shapeshift into anything or anyone he intends. Considering that the Clayface from the comics was such a convoluted character, they decided to take most of the elements of Clayface from Batman The Animated Series and implement them in the comics which was definitely for the better
Ivy and Harley are pretty well established """"best friends"""". Whenever Harley and Joker break up they frequently are together, and it tends to be coded as though they're in a relationship, though it's not started outright confirming it until relatively recently iirc. Comics Harley has an immunity to poisons that Ivy engineered for her so they could hang out more easily, with things like road trips and sleepovers and living together.
@@Gerald3merald I hear you and am usually *extremely* pro platonic friends vs secret relationship, but either way Harley and Ivy have been coded pretty hard as girlfriends from the start, where censors would not have allowed anything more explicit. Which isnt to say that you have to go with that version, but at this point them being in a romantic relationship overtly and explicitly rather than just in subtext is SUPER common. But yeah, that said, I'm all for "just let people be friends without reading further into it"
If you ever want to collect all riddles and trophies, it's more worthwhile to do them in Arkham Knight. You need 100% for every side mission and main story mission in Knight to see the true full ending to the game and Riddler is one of them.
Also if you’re using an Xbox controller then you don’t need to aim at the joker teeth before throwing a baterang. You just quick double tap the left trigger and it will automatically throw the baterang and target the joker teething
Love that you're picking up the lore on such surprising pace! However It looks like you haven't upgraded your combat multipliers, which means that you're missing out on some really sick moves. Batman operates like a pendulum, the higher your combo, the stronger and faster he is and you'll unlock some one-hit special moves using (such breaking limbs!) To make getting higher combos easier you'll need to upgrade the combat ASAP in these games. Trust me, if you enjoy the combat now wait till you discover that you could lift up a thug and toss them, or break their legs, stomp on their wrists or snap their elbows... like a true entitled billionaire superhero that you are! Also, being good in combat also earns you points much faster, therefore if you invest in combat moves, you'll earn the upgrades for other stuff even quicker. Same principle applies to the sequels as well.
When it comes to poison ivy we can all agree with you we would let her go even if she's a sociopath 🤗 so happy your enjoying the game all 3 are so playable, fabulous episode Sophie you never fail to amaze with your work ethic 🙏💖🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Quick question Do you plan on playing origins? It's a prequel a lot of people tend to dismiss (sure, it has It's flaws, but it's really nowhere as bad as ppl say it is)
So, Victor Zsasz's origin is very connected the major Batman villain Penguin. Victor Zsasz had a loving, wealthy family and graduated top of his class in college, later going on to amass his own fortune of his own through various companies. At the age of 25, his parents tragically died in a boating accident. He inherited millions of dollars, but missed them very dearly and while he eventually accepted what had happened, Zsasz could not help but feel depressed at their loss. In an attempt to distract himself from his growing depression, Zsasz became swept up in high stakes gambling. He neglected his companies while gaining, and just as often losing, huge sums of money in card games. One evening, he ended up playing poker in a Gotham City casino known as the Iceberg Lounge which was under the ownership of the Penguin. He eventually worked his way up to the owner's table. He kept winning hand after hand. Little did he know that the only person who won in the Iceberg Lounge was the owner, Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin. It all came to a head in one game, in which Zsasz bet everything to his name in a game against the Penguin. When Zsasz laid down his cards, Penguin laughed and laid down and won the game (Cobblepot cheated during that game). Zsasz lost all of his money to Penguin and was thrown out of the Iceberg Lounge penniless. After that, he wandered the streets crying. It was then that Zsasz realized that his life was empty, driven by desire and that no amount of wealth could change the hollow person he had become or give any meaning to his life. He fled the Iceberg Lounge, eventually making his way to the Gotham Bridge and prepared to jump off. As Zsasz contemplated suicide by jumping off the bridge, a homeless man threatened him with a knife, demanding his money. Zsasz became infuriated, took the knife, and held it to the man's throat and, upon looking into the homeless man's eyes, realized he was just as empty as he himself was. Zsasz had seen in the man's eyes the same thing he had felt, "nothing" and that only death could ever save him from his own emptiness. Something overcame Zsasz and he then proceeded to stab the man to death as a "gift" for saving his life. Zsasz felt pure euphoria afterwards. Suddenly, without thinking, he carved a mark into his own arm. From then on, he dedicated himself to "liberating" others from their pointless existence and often refers to victims as "zombies".
One thing I like about Poison Ivy's design is the eyes. Ivy's voice is pleading, which can manipulate people on an emotional level, but the eyes are that of a predator, which fits in well with Ivy being a sociopath. Sociopaths have no empathy for anyone, and they are extremely manipulative. They also lack a conscience. Ivy has killed hundreds of men, women and children, viewing them as inferior compared to plant based biology and often refers to them as pathetic fleshy meat sacks. She doesn't care if the "meat sacks" she kills are rich or poor, their mere existence is a blight to her. All she wants is to see all of humanity die before her.
Hey sophie. I'd like to nominate the witcher series as a future playthrough. Edit: To further sweeten the deal. The witcher is a game series based on a book(s) written by a Polish author heavily steeped in Polish myth and folklore.

The Animated Series had some of the best origin stories of any super hero adaptation.
Two bodies one face no gun was the tommy gun hanging on the wall in the display case. It was up the top of the electrified floor cell area
