As a longtime comic book reader, these games have the greatest depiction of the Riddler ever outside the comics. Wally Wingert who voiced the character in all four games always delivered such an incredible performance that always managed to perfectly capture Riddler's obsessive personality, massive ego and superiority complex. It's honestly his voice I hear in my head when I read comics with Riddler.
Quick non-spoiler tip: You can press LT twice to throw a batarang at the teeth (you tried this on thugs in E1 but never on the teeth). It's much faster than switching and manually aiming. You just need to be looking in the right general direction and it'll lock on for you
1:19:54 Love how Kevin Conroy is also voicing his Thomas Wayne as well, Maybe a little call back to the Batman: Animated Series and how Kevin voiced Thomas Wayne in flashbacks to Bruce's childhood. 1:26:06 Scarecrow, Jonathan Crane was played by Cillian Murphy in the Nolan films who was a really sold version of the character as they didn't strip him from any of his cool comic book origins including allowing him to use his fear gas. 1:35:14 Bane was also featured in the Nolan trilogy showing up in Dark Knight Rises played by Tom Hardy. But his origin and appearance was pretty differant striping away his Latin identity as for this take he wasn't raised within a Latin American prison but instead The Pitt (Prison in a hole) within a Middle Eastern country. Tom also based his voice on Bartley Gorman the Bare-knuckle boxing champion of the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Venom aspect of the character was also removed as well to make the character more "realistic" a big element of the Nolan films better or for worse depending on what you prefer. For Asylum Bane was basically pulled from the comics from having to serve his fathers sentence as a child, growing up in a Latin American prison, being experimented on to become a Super Solider basically. Bane may have a luchador background as well judging off his iconic luchador mask etc. Naturally Tom's version had to be pretty differant to fit the story but I hope one day we'll see comic Bane in the movies. Also alot of people who don't read the comics, watch the animated shows or play the games picture Tom has the definitive Bane. So there's a good amount of people who have no idea that Bane is of Latin origin or that he's meant to be a small guy in frame who gets large by the Venom pumping through his body.
I was going to say that I only knew of Bane from Tom Hardy and definitely, based on Tom's appearance, would never have known that Bane was Hispanic! Which is ridiculous as that's a big part of his identity but also his origin! I honestly hate when characters are white washed. Doesn't matter that it's based on a comic - should still stick to the source material as much as possible!
30:47, That’s the only time Harley calls Joker ‘Puddin’’ in the entire Arkham series. Come to think of it, it’s also the last time Arleen Sorkin will say ‘Puddin’, as this was her final appearance voicing Harley.
Glad to hear you love the combat. The thing is, the game uses a "flow" system where Batman gets stronger and faster the higher your combo is. To achieve an unbroken combo, you can't button mash, cannot get hit, can't roll twice in a row (once followed by an attack is okay though), cannot enter gadget mode (LB) and cannot stay still for more than a second. Once your combo reaches a certain amount, you'll be faster and unlock some cool finishing moves. Think of Batman as a pendulum, gaining momentum with each successful attack. And it's no secret that eventually enemies can and will overwhelm you and here's a mini cheat that I hope you don't abuse-- you will be invincible if you if you vault over an enemy (double tap A at the direction of a thug) and you can do this indefinitely without breaking your combo! It's a trick I use whenever I can't think fast enough on what to do (which is often!) :P
I like imagining that that guy was just hiding in the box at 1:05:50 for hours just waiting for Batman to wander by, all gleeful and insane but keeping really still, hunched over to fit inside the box. Then finally he pops out - boo! And Batman immediately knocks him out. The Scarecrow sequence was really creepy and atmospheric!
In case you're curious when you got dosed with the fear gas, it was when you were going down in the elevator while Joker was taunting you. It's easy to miss but when Joker starts talking about how you're going to face all your fears the air in the elevator kind of shimmers and Batman coughs briefly. After that it just takes a little bit apparently for the effects to really kick in.
59:22 what’s cool is you’re having fun and you’ve yet to really even hit the grooooooooove that the combat lets you, once you get the hang of getting to big combos and using your unlocked skills. By the next video I bet your combat fun factor will be off the charts! (This is the pure reason I love this game - bouncing off thugs in a dance of punching never gets old!)
Few tips that might help: 1. Breakable walls can injure hostiles if you detonate them when those are near. Same with ceiling and floor. 2. When you see smth weird like that cage with skulls, scan it. They would probably be answers for the Riddler riddles. 3. The doors that are blocked with laser are for later, don’t try to blow them up. 4. 21:35 No, it's not the negative aspect of your personality. It's just that the Arkham games made Joker into this loveable goofball villain. That's one of the main gripes I have against these games. He's like Chucky from the Child's Play franchise, yeah he does these awful things to people but you can't hate him because he's too funny. In the comics, joker is a terrifying mass murderer who is almost like this demonic figure. An evil entity that can't stopped. Every time he enters a scene it sends chills to my spine. He is evil incarnate and his jokes are so twisted and demented you don't know if you want to laugh or cry. Here I can't take him seriously at all. Every joke he says is funny like he's a chill dude you could hang out with. Everyone says Mark Hamill is the best joker. I love Mark Hamill but give me a break where is the fear factor in this Joker? It's like the game developers took the Batman animated series and turned it into a game. The animated series was for kids so you can't show the true nature of Joker or the dark, horrific moments of Joker in that series. I mean, to be fair you can't possibly show that much trauma and violence in a superhero game but still. Anyway, I just wanted to say don't feel bad or anything for liking the Joker. Everyone loves the Joker, especially this Joker. I used to adore him when I was a teenager because the only knowledge i had of the character at the time was the dark knight. He was so cool in that film. Then I started reading comics and I Was like nope. He is now a character I love to hate and there were a lot of moments in the comics when I was like "Die mofo just die". He is one of the most Evil, disgusting, demented, psychotic pieces of sh*t I have ever seen. I don't want to come off as someone who hates these games but as far as the Joker character, this is not it. Maybe this is just a Me thing but I find this funny lovable Joker very boring, I want a joker that scares the crap outta me. Okay, Now that my rant is over. I just want to say I loved your reaction. Can't wait to see more.
That's perfectly fair - everyone will definitely have a preference and because I've not really had any experience with the Batman universe or other depictions, I definitely lean into this version of the Joker as I think he's very funny and endearing. I can't wait for you to see Bane in Batman Arkham Origins That game has the best and most comic accurate depiction of Bane ever outside the comics. They really managed to expertly portray Bane's intelligence and struggle with Venom as well as his Santa Priscan background in that game. In this game he isn't in it much but it's an okay depiction although the design for him honestly isn't that great. Bane has honestly been depicted pretty terribly and completely inaccurately in the live-action movies. In the Joel Schumacher he is nothing but a mindless brute and in the Nolan films he is literally nothing like Bane from the comics. He wasn't Hispanic like Bane is in the comics, he had a different motivation (which wasn't tha great), different design, a really ridiculous voice that has been mocked to death and weirdest of all he needed his mask to breath wjich Bane has never had in the comics.

Scarecrow always creeps me out! My fear he'd make real would probably be being alone surround by spiders with nowhere to go 😭 great moment in the game though for sure!
Harley Quinn wasn’t masquerading as a member of the Arkham Asylum staff. She was one. Her full name was Dr Harleen Quinzel a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. You will get to see her descent into madness throughout the games especially in Asylum if you pick up the audio recordings and in Origins
Oh I'm aware of that as I read the log history on her. The fact that she still had her RFID security card and used it to allow the joker through the electrified gates means that she quit that night and revealed her allegiances. Batman knew of her through the Origins incident and has kept an eye on her ever since
@@sharronbrennon899 I guess I'll see as I progress :)
@@drsophiedarling oh i forgot to tell you before a little gaming tip with the inverted takedown. You can actually cut the rope that the enemies are dangling from with a baterang. So you can use the gargoyle later for another inverted takedown
bane’s keep charging at batman although he gets hit with batarangs and then gets stunned so this allows him to get beaten more. is he stupid?
I think he might be a little out of his mind so we'll cut him some slack haha!
Bangarang!
BEST FILM EVER!!
I’ve just had an apostrophe!
AN APOSTROPHE?! WHERE?! In all seriousness, did you mean an epiphany?
@@drsophiedarling Ha, no that's one of Smee's lines in Hook. Then Captain Hook says "I think you mean an epiphany."
Then Smee says "lightning just struck my brain..."
Then Hook replies sarcastically, "well that must hurt."
I think you're struggling with the stealth because you're being too cautious and not using all of your tools! You could have used your explosive gel on those walls to blow up guards who stand near them and use the vents to move around on the ground without being seen. I know the game doesn't do a good job of making it obvious and you're more likely gonna figure out that sort of thing after you did the encounter lmao
also it's subtle but at 1:15:00 Batman coughs a little because he just inhaled fear gas
You think this feels fluid just wait until you get to Arkham Knight, that is if you play that one.
I do intend to play it!
What about Blasphemous ????? I wait for ur gameplay ....
I didn't have chance to film more than one game this weekend as I'm preparing to go back to work and I'm also starting back streaming on Twitch. I'm unfortunately not a full time content creator so some episodes may be delayed or take more time to produce depending on how busy my schedule is! :)
OK ..THAT'S FAIR ... AND EXCUSE ME BECAUSE I LOVE THIS GAME AND I INTEND TO PLAY THE 2ND ONE ...GOODL❤ @@drsophiedarling
Play Batman Arkham city please
It's on my list to do next week!!
