  • One touch operation, blocks calls effectively but poor instructions. Amazon Affiliate Product Link: geni.us/AZVUcf
    The caller ID blocker comes with a foot stand and a 10 inch phone cable. The foot attaches to the bottom of the unit so you can read the LCD panel at an angle. The unit is easy to hook up: just plug the phone into the port on the left using the included cable and connect the incoming line to port on the right on the bottom of the call blocker. The unit does not require any additional power and will display the date and time. If you don't change any of the settings at all, you can simply press the red 'Blacklist' button when an unwanted call comes in and the unit will hang up on the caller and save the number to memory. You’ll see the LCD display Save and Succeed and the blocker will hang up the call. Next time that number calls, your phone won't even ring and the blocker will hang up on the caller automatically. I found that this function worked great.
    To change other settings like the date/time or manage the block list is a little trickier since the included instructions aren't that great. I'll walk you through the date/time setup here as an example. To set the time, press Set on the unit, then pick up your handset and press 1. You’ll see the year start blinking and you can adjust it using the arrow keys. Use the Set key to accept the settings. So for settings, the keypad on your phone will act as the menu selection controls to set and manage different options. I didn't really play with those since I just wanted the call blocker to block calls but there is also the option to manually add numbers to the block list. Overall, the call blocker does exactly what I need it to. No more unwanted calls from telemarketers!

    I just confirmed the one ring I was getting. I bought this product but had it hooked up in a parallel configuration. Meaning I had a splitter hooked up and a phone hooked up directly to the call blocker. I always got one ring on the number that I blocked. I now have it hooked up in series. It blocks the phone numbers with zero or no rings. Just thought I would post this. This may help others out.

    Is it possible to block outgoing calls? For example, I want my child not to be able to call 123456.

      @ReviewedByPhil  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as long as the Call Blocker is installed in series with your existing phone (see 0:18). To add outgoing numbers to the call blacklist:
      Step 1. Press SET button (LCD displays Set 1234567)
      Step 2. Lift/activate off the handset of the phone and press 3 (LCD displays a blinking cursor "_")
      Step 3. Input the phone number (or area code or prefix) you wish to block.
      Step 4. Press UP or DOWN buttons (◄ or ►) to save (LCD displays "SUCCEED").
      Repeat steps 3-4 to continue inputting number(s) you wish to block.
      Step 5. When done, hang up handset and wait 15 seconds to exit programming mode.

      The "LOCK" feature is turned "OFF" as a factory default setting. If your call blocker's LCD displays "LOC", you will need to unlock it following these steps:
      Step 1. Make sure your handset (or base) is connected in series (refer to installation manual)
      Step 2. Lift-off handset and press: * 1 2 3 4 5 6 #
      Step 3. Hang up your handset

    Phil! I hope you can help me, I realize most ppl have stopped using land lines using their cells as their primary contact mode. I however don't feel it's necessary for anyone to have to speak to me when I'm driving, shopping, at the doctor's and so on. They can wait until I get home! However I'm having a real problem with this call blocker I purchased. The unit seems to be blocking numbers on it's own! Every day I have to go in and unblock my FRIENDS phone numbers! Every day! and my friends are having a hard time believing that I'M NOT doing it on purpose! Soóo, 2 part question:
    1) how do I STOP the unit from blocking numbers I didn't command it to?
    2) how do I use the handset to block and unblock numbers?!?
    I also am having a hard time determining if I want a particular number blocked because the unit doesn't display the caller id and I just don't know ppls numbers like I did years ago , because everything is so automated today I've become complacent!

      Hi Nancy, I'm not sure if you saw my reply to you on the other comment you left, but I'll repost it here just in case. There's a setting to block all calls from a particular area code or prefix. If this is activated, incoming calls using that area code which are not whitelisted are automatically added to the blocked blacklist. Here are the instructions to disable that.
      Removing Incoming Area codes or Prefixes from BLACKLIST:
      Step 1. Press SET button (LCD displays Set 1234567)
      Step 2. Lift off handset and press 5 (If your BLACKLIST is empty, a blinking cursor should be shown as "_" indicating input mode.
      Otherwise, the LCD will display the first stored number in the BLACKLIST)
      Step 3. Use UP or DOWN buttons (◄ or ►) to browse list of blocked area codes
      Step 4. When displaying the number you wish to remove, press REMOVE (LCD(3) displays "DEL").
      Step 5. When done hang up handset, and wait 15 seconds to exit programming mode.
      There's also a mode that blocks all incoming calls that do not have Caller ID info with the phone company. To disable that follow these instructions:
      Step 1. Press SET button (LCD displays Set 1234567)
      Step 2. Lift off the handset and press 6 (LCD displays "OFF")
      Step 3. Press UP or DOWN buttons (◄ or ►) to toggle feature "ON" and "OFF".
      Step 4. When "OFF" is shown, hang up handset and wait 15 seconds to exit.
      I hope one of these fixes your issue! To answer your second question, here are the steps to manually add numbers to the blacklist via the handset:
      Step 1. Press SET button (LCD displays Set 1234567)
      Step 2. Lift off the handset and press 4 (LCD displays the first number stored in the BLACKLIST. If empty, a blinking cursor should be shown as "_" indicating input mode)
      Step 3. Input phone number to be added to the incoming BLACKLIST
      Step 4. Press UP or DOWN buttons (◄ or ►) to save(4) (LCD displays "SUCCEED").
      Repeat steps 2-4 to add up to 1,200 numbers (up to 16 digits in length, each)
      Step 5. When done, hang up handset and wait 15 seconds to exit programming mode

      Step 2. Lift off the handset and press 3 (LCD displays a blinking cursor "_" indicating inputmode).

    How do I make sure that the calls I want will not be blocked?

    • @ReviewedByPhil
      @ReviewedByPhil  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This device only blocks calls from numbers that you add to the list with a button press (or manually enter). So since it never automatically blocks numbers that you haven't asked it to, simply don't add those numbers to the list and they will not be blocked. If you add a number to the block list by mistake, you can always remove it from the list manually. The instructions for that are listed in the manual.

    This is the BIG question, how about the people in AMERICA USA US, people dial *67 to block the number and make it private, can your little magic machine block those calls? Hmmmm I wont hold my breath because I dont think you'll answer, I sent 4 messages and nothing, so Im guessing the answer is no, but you could of just said it in the video Charlie Brown.

    • @ReviewedByPhil

      Hey Jess, Sounds like you contacted a vendor somewhere a few times. I'm not affiliated with the vendor or manufacturer, just an end user who is using the product at home, so perhaps your question can be better answered by someone who sells this product. You can try here: amzn.to/2gvwjV1 [Amazon Affiliate Product Link] though I can't tell you whether they are responsive or knowledgeable.
      As for your query, I don't know that I've received any calls from private numbers hidden by *67 that I've needed to block, although sometimes my voice caller ID does say "unknown" instead of a name/company/location, if that is what you're referring to. Sometimes it's hard to know what questions people will have in advance about a product when I create these videos, and having posted this 10 months earlier I hadn't anticipated your sort of question to be able to include it in this review. I do reside in Pennsylvania, if that helps, and the unit was tested in America, the US, USA and for every unwanted solicitor call that I've gotten so far and pressed the little red button, I haven't had the displeasure of receiving calls from them again.

    • @ReviewedByPhil
      @ReviewedByPhil  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a bit of digging through the other reviews on Amazon and it looks like there's a way to make the machine block private calls, but you need to make sure you have the "new" version, the Pro Call Blocker v2.0: amzn.to/2fJZNga [Amazon Affiliate Product Link] This one has mixed reviews, which mostly looks like it varies by phone service provider; it also may have spotty QC given the number of complaints about defects, yet there are a lot of other folks who have no problem with it.
      According to a reviewer: "Problocker 2.0 has the Private number blocking feature. That feature is turned off from the factory." And then there's a series of steps you need to take to go through the menus to turn it on, which should be outlined in the manual; though there's no telling how "well" they are explained/translated into English. There are also several folks who reported "Yes" to whether or not it blocks Anonymous calls. I hope this follow up helps you some!
