Great idea with the tape, watched 12 videos on tailgate tables (coved 19 blues) . This was one that is easy , practical and cheep. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.🇺🇸
I loosely followed your video and made a tailgate table for my JK! I did find that one rope on each side limited the torsion on the piano hinge as opposed to one. Great video !!!
nice job . looks good . i like the way that you did this project without drilling a bunch of holes in the tail gate . i have to admit that the light switch had me very curious as to what it had to do with the table , but now i know. great job
BRILLIANT IDEA!!! I'm so going to do this for my jimny, will have to figure out different way of keeping it upright, but this gives me a great starting point
Awesome! Now I’m off to make mine for my JL! Only trouble is the tailgate is a little less flat... it’ll take some tinkering but I’m looking forward for the challenge!
Had this idea for our tj but wasnt sure how it would turn out. After watching your video ....ours is done...and we just use it in the drive way if we want to grill .....works great. Thanks for posting yours.
So glad your channel popped up. Totally love your keep and being in Ft Smith the Fayettechill decal caught my eye immediately! Building my 2 door 2010 JK towards overlanding... but with a backpackers history and budget. Lol. Love this table idea- thank you.
My 21 year old son and I both have YJs, I've been going to add the tables but I was stuck on the latch. The magnet if so simple it's stupid I haven't thought of that too, thank you. Also my son loved the place for the stickers.
Good job on this video my friend, I have been tossing buying one of the tables like you mentioned in the comments, but making my own would be funner, so thanks for sharing this idea, I love it. dale
Awesome idea! Will be doing the same for my jk. Question for ya, did you think about using strong long magnets and connect it to the piano strip, instead of the double sided tape?
The tape idea for the hinge is great but would never work here in Florida during the summer. The damn heat would have that lose with a quickness. Any loss of tension with the paracord?
Cut your captions on. I know they are janky at times. I work in a very loud environment and have breaks I will watch videos and the only way I can is captions.
Hello: Now I know where to use the Earth Magnets I got out of a hard drive. I already thought I would Glue 2 Dollar Tree cutting Boards on top of mine. Yes a Dollar Each. I wish I had a Heated Garage, it 's cold outside. You probably should have used a Cutting Table oil on top of wood. I guess wood glue will bond cutting Boards to 1/4 plywood. How much can you loose. Small Brass wood screws would work. Sink the heads, if screw comes through wood grind it off. Got a Harbor Fright Side Grinder $20.00, works like a $90.00 Dewalt. I''l take Dewalt battery drill any day. Used one 8 hours a day at work, dropped it on Concrete floor put battery back in and go to work. I think I''ll paint bottom of mine black. All those $200.00 tables are Black. Rock On Dude !!!
This is a fair attempt at a long term table, but a great attempt at a short term table. As soon as the Gorilla tape gets really cold, it will separate from the door or piano hinge. I see one of the bolt heads sheared off when you unbolted the plastic cover to mark your table cutouts. You could get that out with a drill/extractor bit set made by Craftsman (don't use Harbor Freight ones). For less than $30 I would have to give you an "A" for this mod. If you replaced the Gorilla tape with 4 rivet nuts evenly spaced, that would be one strong table that won't fall apart in winter. Great video!
I appreciate the tips!! I will say that I have gone through a full winter and camped several times and the gorilla tap hasn't detached once! Must be some strong stuff!
Great video. Keep up the good work. Would love to wheel sometime when I get back that way. My parents and brother live in Rogers and Springdale. Is that tape still holding up? I have an LJ and looking to do the same.
Funny question, is the gorilla tape, stuck to the top of the wood(and tailgate). Then the piano hinge on top....? I couldn't really tell.... The fold up table is a Great idea...
Wow man just wow. You just a lot of people a lot of money. Idk why I didn’t think of this. People that read this. Please link me diy beds shelves things of that sort.
Definitely going to do something like this instead of spending up to $250 for one! I think this looks a lot better too than the expensive ones.
Great idea with the tape, watched 12 videos on tailgate tables (coved 19 blues) . This was one that is easy , practical and cheep. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.🇺🇸
Appreciate it!
THIS. IS. AMAZING. I’m going to give them a try instead of spending $300 on a store bought table. Great idea and thank you for sharing it.
Seriously, y'know? How expensive does a basic tailgate table need to be?
I'm in the middle of making this right now. Just waiting for the stain to dry. Thanks man!
So cool man!!
I loosely followed your video and made a tailgate table for my JK! I did find that one rope on each side limited the torsion on the piano hinge as opposed to one. Great video !!!
Thanks man! Glad you made one. Yeah 2 ropes is probably better in the long run
Finally some one who stained there wood! Excellent 👍.
Yep. Getting parts this weekend. Absolutely brilliant!
Brooo you came through with the video badass!!!!
I like that light switch
Awesome ingenuity on the design and implementation, too!
This is going to be my first DIY project this weekend - thumbs up!
That's a great build! And way to go with the double-sided gorilla tape. And the magnet light. Man, some great solutions here.
nice job . looks good . i like the way that you did this project without drilling a bunch of holes in the tail gate . i have to admit that the light switch had me very curious as to what it had to do with the table , but now i know. great job
Ingenious, this will be the first mod I make on my TJ. Thanks for sharing.
BRILLIANT IDEA!!! I'm so going to do this for my jimny, will have to figure out different way of keeping it upright, but this gives me a great starting point
Great setup and Thanks for sharing I've been super curious about this, since I watched your walk around vid
Awesome! Now I’m off to make mine for my JL! Only trouble is the tailgate is a little less flat... it’ll take some tinkering but I’m looking forward for the challenge!
Totally loving this set-up and your ingenuity!
Great Idea and well executed! Thanks for sharing your idea and how to.... trail safe!
Had this idea for our tj but wasnt sure how it would turn out. After watching your video ....ours is done...and we just use it in the drive way if we want to grill .....works great. Thanks for posting yours.
Awesome!
That's the best and simplest set-up I've seen. Great job!
So glad your channel popped up. Totally love your keep and being in Ft Smith the Fayettechill decal caught my eye immediately! Building my 2 door 2010 JK towards overlanding... but with a backpackers history and budget. Lol. Love this table idea- thank you.
So awesome man! Maybe I'll see you someday. Appreciate the support!
Great video! I’ll definitely be adding a table to my TJ tailgate!
love the fayetchille sticker. nice to see a fellow Arkansan on here!
Great ingenuity and awesome TJ!! Like the addition of the light switch. Will be doing this on my Jk. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks for the idea brother I made me one last weekend for my TJ it’s super simple and very handy. Love your videos keep them coming
Simple and I love the use of magnets over drilling holes! Guess I know what I am going to be building now.
This is pretty dope! Thanks for the vid!! Looking forward to trying this myself
This is EXACTLY the kind of thing i was looking to do. Thanks for the video!
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your great design. Watched your video about a year ago and ended up making one for my Jeep, it works great.
Hey I appreciate that! That's awesome.
nice choice on the stain, matches the green paint nice
This is badass.
I can't wait to get to my shop and get this project done!
Badass idea... I'm gonna try this ... thank you.
Love it ! Great Idea thank you , Im going to do this on my boat
Very creative solution 👍🏻
I love it! Thanks again man! great stuff!!
Thank you buddy, you inspired me to make my own tail gate table 😁👍🏼
My 21 year old son and I both have YJs, I've been going to add the tables but I was stuck on the latch. The magnet if so simple it's stupid I haven't thought of that too, thank you. Also my son loved the place for the stickers.
HAHA! Very cool. No need to spend hundreds, and you proved it! Excellent job! Love the light switch....and actual, eff**ng light switch! you DA MAN!
Awesome. Thanks for all the details and thoughts. Hearing your troubleshooting really helps
Just built mine. Thanks for the video. It was great to follow.
Thanks for the video. Been looking at the other table But as you know the prices are insane. Thanks again.
Made the table with a few changes (so it could fit my yj) and so far i love it! Thanks man
Right on man! So stoked I could inspire you.
Great job! I can't believe you sold it.
Fantastic Tailgate table! You have me sold!
Good job on this video my friend, I have been tossing buying one of the tables like you mentioned in the comments, but making my own would be funner, so thanks for sharing this idea, I love it.

Great home made fix seems to work just a good as aluminum tables for 200 bucks!
after watching this video I made one of my own very similar to this. Thanks for posting
Thanks bro! This is just nice. I'll go right away to the home deepot store and make it.
Awesome idea! Will be doing the same for my jk. Question for ya, did you think about using strong long magnets and connect it to the piano strip, instead of the double sided tape?
Great idea and video!
Well done! I wondered what the light switch was. Now I'm going to have to go buy a couple ;-)
What brand spare tire carrier do you have?
Very creative. Thanks.
Doing the same thing but flex sealing it. Great job.
Nice, I’ll be making one now!
Great video bro... Been planning a cheaper alternative for my YJ. Thanks for sharing!
The tape idea for the hinge is great but would never work here in Florida during the summer. The damn heat would have that lose with a quickness. Any loss of tension with the paracord?
So the stain is non-toxic? What stain? This is my next mod. Working on it now. Designing mine to mount via piano hinges to my orangeboxx molle rack.
Awesome! I'm not sure on the stain.
Hey. I’m deaf. Can anyone tell me what the list of things I need in this video wish I could Hear what he was saying and what things he used. Thanks
Cut your captions on. I know they are janky at times. I work in a very loud environment and have breaks I will watch videos and the only way I can is captions.
So awesome! I am definitely trying this!

I saw you today! Jeep is even more badass in person!🤙🏼😜
Thanks bro! Were'd you see me?
I believe I was near Rodgers
Nice mod and great video!
Where did you get the magnet at ??
Where did you get your above tire storage rack/shelf? Can’t find it.
Thanks for the video, better solution than anything on the market
I have a separate video on it!
Do you think a 65lb magnet would be too strong?
Very nice, simple easy effective
Great video!! Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Keep up the good work. Would love to wheel sometime when I get back that way. My parents and brother live in Rogers and Springdale. Is that tape still holding up? I have an LJ and looking to do the same.
Thanks!
Keep uploading love it!!
Funny question, is the gorilla tape, stuck to the top of the wood(and tailgate). Then the piano hinge on top....? I couldn't really tell....
The fold up table is a Great idea...
It's stuck on one side of the piano hinge and onto the tailgate. Not touching the wood. The hinge is screwed into the wood.
Like your table, how are you handling the third brake light switch?
Thank you! I don't have a third brake light.
Hey man! I have the same tire carrier, did you make or buy your rear tire basket? I can’t find one for it anywhere🤷🏻♂️
Right here my man th-cam.com/video/OyGLKE-6jFM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ArkansasOffroad
@@ArkansasOffroad thanks bro!
Very clever.✌🏽
Nice video👍🏻
Nice work!
What year and model is your jeep ?? Nice job on the table ...good ideas am getting ready to do one myself.
Another cool tip👍🇺🇸
Thanks you saved me a ton of money
What type and size screws did you use to mount it with the piano hinge
Not sure. They came with the piano hinge.
That is really cool man,, what kinda tire carrier is that? Does it require drilling?
Where do you get the magnet? Lowe’s and Home Depot didn’t have them.
Got mine at Lowes. They had several.
very cool! thank you for sharing!
good job man.
Brilliant!!!
What tire carrier are you using?
Smittybilt Rear bumper with tire carrier. Just a generic Smittybilt. Can't remember the exact model.
@@ArkansasOffroad Thank you. I own a 2000 Jeep TJ. I try to only make modifications that work, and don't break the bank.
Thanks man! I'm gonna make one
Good job. Thanks
Nice video. Thanks!
👍 Great Idea 💡
Wow man just wow. You just a lot of people a lot of money. Idk why I didn’t think of this. People that read this. Please link me diy beds shelves things of that sort.
good solution thnx

Just bought the supplies to complete this! Go follow my insta @lucky7jeep if you want to see how it goes
Not too shabby for a computer guy
25 bucks and that big name one is 345 bucks
cut your veggies and protein on a cutting board instead of the table
Just the plywood is more than $25 now 🤦
