This is episode number 01 of the series EXTREME GEAR! Get to know all about my equipment :) Today I will do the unboxing of my new VARUS kit! Enjoy it!
My Trick Percussion kit is 8" ,10", 12", 14", and 16" with 2 18x20" kicks. I run Axis A Longboards with EKITS and a Yamaha oak Musashi 13×6.5" with an Evans Hybrid Kevlar head. My kit is a midnight fade, blue or purple depending on where someone is standing in relation to ambient light.
Very similar man. Yamaha with the same size everything but only one bass drum. Couldn’t fit it in my studio 😢 Axis X, Chad Smith signature which I heard on my mates a while ago and loved so I had to buy one. Nice kit bro 🤘
I have a Yamaha Musashi 13" and it's one of my favorite snare drums ever. If I was stuck on a deserted island and could only have one snare, I would probably pick that.
I couldn't agree more Varus kits are truly unique and just downright beautiful. It is good to see that you have a partnership with them as well as such a beautiful kit. I myself hopefully sooner rather than later will own a Varus kit. I'm waiting for the smoked black acrylic kit. I haven't seen it yet but when I do I shall pull the trigger myself. Once again congratulations on that absolutely beautiful kit and I look forward to plenty of content from you thereafter.
Man that kit…nice as bell bro! I notice you hold your sticks a fair bit further back than myself so I’m interested in heads, sticks, hardware, cymbals, especially stax as they have become so popular. Dudes doing 18” stax was unheard of when I started bashing heads! Look forward to the next vid man, subbed for sure 👍
As a bonus point, from a sound perspective too I think you made the right decision to go with 20" kick drums, since 22" generally tend to start sounding a little "loose", which obviously can work great for certain styles, but for the stuff you generally play, 20" should give you a snappier and richer in attack sound for the bottom-end of the mix. Super happy for you! You've got yourself a beautiful kit 🔥🔥🔥
Love this video. Looking forward to seeing more in the series and process of turning the beautiful kit into an electric kit. The drummer in me is very excited for the new kit. Although, the homeowner in me has anxiety over having to recycle all that cardboard.
Hey dude I've seen some of your videos of you doing insanely fast fills on drums and they are just absolutely wonderful. I Sometimes even try to play along on a pillow to build durability in my hands. I went from going about 170 bpm to 260 bpm top speed in about a year (Which is how long I've been playing for) thanks to just following along with some of your videos. Anyways I just wanted to say you have been a big inspiration to me and my drumming. Keep up the awesome work man!!!! P.S. Could you possibly do I Sawed The Demons from the DOOM ost?
