do you think xie erhao's weird play after the top left attach with the move that flabbergasted eunkyo was a matter of 'i'm ahead, lets simplify even if its bad for me as long as the simplifications leave me still ahead'
Great analysis as always! How is it an exception to the rule of attaching to attack if his idea was to attack the group to the right? That's just a leaning attack, or am I missing something?
It is a leaning attack in effect, but the leaning itself is much more violent than most. That's because what black is leaning against is almost as weak overall as the main target. Most leaning attacks do not attach if they hope to switch back to attacking the original target later, which was the more intuitive idea to me here, though clearly not the correct one
