- In this quick video I quickly show the basics on my all new Pelican Air 1535 case and discuss why I bought this case over the traditional Pelican 1510 case.
2022 UPDATE: I recently traveled to Hawaii to work on a machine and this case held up remarkably well through travel. I've been very pelased with this over the last year.

I was tired of not having my tools organized and also trying to figure out how to travel with them when checking on an airplane.
The Pelican Air 1535 case is FAA regulation travel carry on size and will automatically keep the internal pressure equalized. It’s air tight and water tight.
This is a popular case for the camera industry and can be purchased with several types of foam. I opted for “no foam” and a mesh pocket lid organizer.
I went with a black case with silver handles and latches which I love. Plus it makes it less likely I’ll run off with the wrong case. The Pelican Air 1535 case also comes with a business card holder you can put on the side or on top to your case always has your contact info and phone number visible just in case it gets lost.

How much does the box weigh empty?
I really don't get this fascination with the 1535, if you are using it as a tool box it makes 0 sense as it is far less rugged and the weight difference means nothing when you load it with 25kg of tools or more, if you are using it as a luggage theb what the hell are you packing in it that takes you over the weight limit?!? What do you take with you on holiday? Your rebar collection?!
I personally a 1510 and have yet to approach the weight limit on an airplane.
Mine right now is relegated as luggage only because I use an old 1500 as daily toolbox, but as soon as I can (well when the tool amount justifies it 😅) I'm gonna get the 1510 mobility version, now THAT is a toolbox for some heavy carry!
Very good point! This was my first pelican box period. But so far it has held up well and I can't believe I went my first 18 years without it!
Why embarrassing? That bags got character.
