    the MC 101 is underated,it s good groove box ,but it is primarely a monster synth ,same sounds as the Fantom and Jupiter ,same monster ZenCore engine: I laugh about the fools who buy the silly 16 Voice polyphonie Novation Circuit tracks ,this Baby here has 128!!!a ral monster synt,specially the extensions are incredibly huge!the best synth groove box sampler all in one on the market!

    My advice dude buy a Roland J6 to control the MC 101 ,You r gonna be amaze the sound that come out of it ,sound that you don t get without the J6 ,it totally goes way beyond:

      I have the j6 and was thinking of getting the 101 cause I’m assuming it has more sequence variations but it doesn’t seem so with this video. Is that true?

      Thanks for the suggestion.
      I have both. Will give it a try.

      I've had the j-6 for a bit, and never really used the chord sequencer with anything, just for recording chords and some mobile performance stuff. I must say, after reading your comment I paired the J-6 with the MC-101 and you're right: it's a perfect match!

    This is cool... How does it work with the chord designer option?

    Hi, great job Ben. I watched videos 1 through 4 on the MC-101. On this video, can you do this on the MC-101 as is, or does it require a sound pack? Thank You.

    Dude, I've said it before, and I'll say it again...you are rad. I still want you to continue to show us stuff in Zenology and how to create sounds for the MC 101...I need a good excuse to buy the software.

    Wowzer could get some interesting ideas out of this pack!! Excellent work, with the filter decay wheres that found in zenology?

    • @BenCoeMusic
      @BenCoeMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! In Zenology in the matrix I’m using the sys-ctrl4 parameter to adjust the parameter “FLT-DCY.” To modify it outside of the mod matrix, in visual edit mode click the envelope button next to the filter in the bottom middle, decay is T3. I usually find it easier in pro edit though, if you click to the filter envelope section you’ll see the parameter called T3/Decay.
      For this patch I have the cutoff set all the way down, and L1 on the filter envelope set all the way up. If you then turn the filter envelope depth all the way up (sys-ctrl3 in this patch) it will increase the amount the envelope is applied and so raise the filter. Then just adjusting the decay (T3) gives the result here.
      I hope that’s clear, good luck feel free to ask if you have any other questions about it

    Did you program the chords in Zenology Pro?

      Yep, programmed in Zenology pro using the step lfo controlling pitch.

      @@BenCoeMusic Thank you! Your sound design on the MC101 is really creative and inspiring! I just got the MC101 and look to your videos to learn how to use it. Many thanks!

    Such a fun patch! Love it ! Is there any way to modify it in Zenology so that it will send out midi for the whole chord(like in the mc101 native chord mode) ? It is just sending out the root, currently.

    • @BenCoeMusic
      @BenCoeMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! That’s a good question…I want to say that there wouldn’t be a way to get that output from the patch unfortunately. I’m usually wrong when I think Zenology can’t do something though so I’ll look into it and see if I can’t figure something out!

    • @chuckvicious
      @chuckvicious 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems like something extra , midi wise, starts to happen when you add motion; not sure. But would totally be neat if you could keep randomizing and sending out differnt notes from the chords of the mc to midi. But also I just got a Blokas midi hub so I should just do that[with that]. Also you could use like reaper and some midi fx plug-ins to route generative midi, but that gets complicated.

    salut pourrai tu me dire ou télécharger le pack accord? ou bien il est inclus dans les preset? Merci

    Great video, was confused between mc101 or 707, pretty much only want the synth engine in it but am not a piano player, so figuring out a chord machine that ahs editable parameters could save money over the 707 since they have the same engine and presets

      Same here. Thats why I got both - but use preferably 101 all the time!

    You can play chords on the 101 already?? You got a chord mode

    • @BenCoeMusic
      @BenCoeMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I know, and the chord mode is a pain to use if I actually want to play a chord progression, but like I said, this was a fun challenge, and it's a fun patch to play around with.

    • @BenCoeMusic
      @BenCoeMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It should work fine on the 707, though I don’t have one and can’t promise anything, the synth architecture is identical. If I understand correctly the 707 only has 3 knobs per track so you won’t be able to access all 4 sys-ctrl parameters at once from knobs but they’re all available and should work the same.
