Very nice apartment, definitely has a hotel vibe. It's a miss on not having a bathtub; with such a nice view, it would be nice to soak in the tub and take it all in.

They do make inflatable bathtubs. A friend of mine bought one and loves it.

Wow that place is STUNNING, the views, the light, love the layout as well. Also the neighborhood is great, close to everything but quiet at night. Might be a bit cozy for two people but you'd live like a king by yourself. And just personal taste I'd have to change up the decor, put some wood tone furniture in there, burnt orange couch or something, get some colors going in there to warm it up.

YES; YES; YES!!! My dream apartment. Without COVID 19 I would have travelled to NYC on June, 14th and would have stayed in that area (Rector Street). This is my favorite part of Manhattan. Loved to watch. I miss New York so much.

It's popular in a lot of high-end hotels. Common theory is that it's for rich guests on business trips so, if they hire a prostitute while they're in town, the client can make sure they don't take anything while they're in the bathroom 😂 Hopefully not something that you're worried about in your actual apartment though!!!
@@antonivashov9933 well the common practice is to hide/lock any valuables before the service provider arrives...I heard.
That bathroom was a major turn-off. It appears to be an extension of the bedroom and not a separate space. If a guest wanted to use the bathroom, they would have to close and lock the bedroom door to have any real privacy. A bathROOM is a separate ROOM. For me: no privacy, no deal.
@@andrewbrendan1579 I guess we are a few select people who do not like the smell of human feces in the bedroom. I too would like to have a door between my poop and my girlfriend.

Too much white, but that's what accent colors are for. I love that building and the neighborhood sounds great! Busy during the day and quiet at night is perfect!
It's the easy access to the shower that does it for me. Just pull the door and you're in... wow... 2022 is amazing!

Yep a great apt
This was definitely set up as a short-term rental for business travelers & the owner now wants to lock in a long-term renter. That may be a little harder with no full-size oven (that one is basically a toaster oven), microwave, or bathtub - in addition to the lack of privacy while showering. The entire property is really lovely though!

That's one gorgeous apartment! I'm very surprised the tenant didn't find a solution for all the dangling cords under the TV, though. That was pretty distracting. And no wall coverage between the bedroom and bathroom? Only if I lived alone! 😂

Cash, HGTV, was giving away one of these units, in 2010, The W building, and a 21 year won back then. So I think some are to own, not just rent. I was online at the 2 sites, with my entry daily, for a month or so, and I never ever try to win anything before or since. Great place, too bad not 2 bedrooms to split rent...but ideal for a 2 income couple or someone with a great cash flow..lol.

You're right. It's amazing and at an amazing price I'm sure for that part of town. The views from the the roof deck and the apartment itself are worth it. I'm not a big fan of modern contemporary though and it needs things to make it look homey and add more warmth. That could be done with furniture and wall decoration though. It's just kind of 'clinical' with all that white. This would be great for a young professional single or couple. I'd spend all my time enjoying the view from both places. Especially the river view.

Still my favorite apartment you've showed. Absolutely gorgeous. The only thing it's missing is an indoor pool in the building, which is a bit surprising considering this is at the W. Also, the rooftop furniture is a little eh. The apartment itself though, lovely.

This one is absolutely beautiful, its perfect in every way! I can't find one thing wrong with it! You've out done yourself on this one! The view is amazing, the outdoor deck is awesome, I would feel like Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex and the City"...I would have my friends over to sunbathe on that deck! Cook gourmet meals in my fabulous kitchen, stare out my window drinking my Folgers coffee in the morning, getting dressed while looking out the window at the Empire state building! OopsI just woke up🤣🤣 nice dream though!

The bathroom has a heated towel rack. Once you've used one you never want to go back to cold towels after a shower.....
"Cold" towels? Mine are room temp! I’ve always considered heated towel racks to be the proverbial solution in search of a problem.

MongolordD they ask for a lot information when you apply they make sure you can afford it . You have to make 40x times the rent in New York to get approved !!

Hey cash, I'm turning 18 in a couple of years and me and some of my friends are wanting to move to New York together and our budget a month between us will be around $5000 we're ok moving into like a 2/3 bed if needs be but whats your advice on where and how.

Fair Warning. If one of you loses your job for any reason or one of you enters into a serious relationship with someone and they decide to live together or a number of other scenarios; be prepared to cover that person's rent for a month or two until you find a replacement.
I've had roommates move out on the 1st of the month with no prior warning. Needless to say, I was not able to come up with the rent.
all of you combined will have to make 40x the rent (some places need guarantors and especially if you're younger with little to no work experience with a stable salary, guarantors are required to cover the rent in case one or more of you cannot make rent. Some places requires guarantor to make up to 80x the rent amount). landlords look at your savings account as well, you should at least have 3months worth of rent/living expense or more. Also note some units require a broker fee which will go up to 15% of the total rent of the year.

@@earthing3696 We still get them from time to time but minor ones. Just a few years ago in that area was a guy that ran some people over with a van. A few people died. My brother went to school around there and I remember hoping he was okay because the same time it happened is when he usually leaves to come home. Then there was that bomb threat in Times Sq. Thankfully, it was faulty and didn’t go off.
There was a time I was glad I wasn’t working in the city anymore because you never know what could happen.
It looks too much like a hotel room. Maybe because it’s in a hotel.

The furniture does not come with it. Add some colorful furniture, some curtains, and a few plants and suddenly it’s not cold and sterile. I like it as it is, except I’d add some red pillows.

If you're going to live in fear, NYC is not for you. In fact, most major cities are not for you. I suggest you find a place where people live underground. There's a place in Australia where a whole city lives in caves.
