    In 41 and I used to weigh 278 at 5'5, Im now 135, gotta say it's nice to out work people half my age and be leeps and bounds ahead of my peers. it's helped me motivate many people to get themselves moving cause I've been in their place and proved it's very possible to Change your life!

      @@JonnyGunz89 ate fruits and veggies for damn near a year with loads of Hiking! once I was healthy I added protein back in and started lifting and really pushing. Just had to get My body and mind in a better place first gradually, once I was consistent and healthier I pushed hard, havn't looked back since. changed my life and thus changed the coarse of my kids lives because they see me do it so they do it to. they help Motivate me and I motivate them, its a beautiful cycle.

    I broke my jaw in a motorcycle accident and had to undergo jaw reconstruction surgery. It was a tough time (losing sweet gains), but it was an opportunity to get lean. I restarted MAPS Performance, and it helped me regain my strength and fitness gradually, even though I was on a liquid diet. Staying active stopped me from losing too much muscle.
    I was able to start eating solid foods again within a few weeks of surgery, and I was back to lifting within a few months. I'm grateful for the Mind Pump show. It helped me bounce back from a major setback and come back stronger than ever, all progress is progress.

    Im 45 and working towards getting healthy again. I started about a month ago and im SOOOO incredibly grateful that i found Mind Pump at the same time i started my journey.     Man I was waiting on edge to see Adams dead lift results!! I was doing my workout while listening to you guys and I was almost done with todays routine but then you guys mentioned deadlifts(as I’m looking at my lower back fat and wondering if my lat pull downs will eventually help with it). And it was just a sign for me to not ignore the deadlifts. You guys are seriously the best. My eight week results are coming up next Friday and I seriously cannot wait to see the results from when I switched from just walking, to now doing strength training and walking. You guys have motivated me SO MUCH that I actually look forward to going wedding dress shopping in two weeks!! Seven weeks ago I was not the same person I am today. Seven weeks ago I was dreading wedding dress shopping because I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. Even though I have a lot of work to put in, I can at least confidently say I will reach my goals and I will have a beautiful and healthy family in the near future. I am happy. You guys have changed my life. I cannot thank you guys enough.

    I have been following for about a year now. I am 62 years old man who started at 260 a year and a half ago, this morning I weighed in at183. You guys help though the journey.
    Last night on chest day, I had to drop the weight on bench, kinda messed with my head. But today's show was perfect 👍. The mirror is showing progress and you guys snap me into focus.

    Consistency is my hardest issue. I do work a lot in construction with long days and heavy lifting. That makes me think that I have done enough physically for the day. But I also know that our bodies adapt and there's no more gain from my daily work. Consistency is the key to change.

    I've struggled with consistent workouts. I was very dedicated in my late teens and early 20s. Since then I've always had something happen which has thrown me off (new job, busy period, promotion, baby). I've always been a six day a week trainer as I'm very all or nothing. I'm now trying hard to do 2-3 full body workouts a week consistently.

    I'll be 54 😢 next month. I started lifting regularly almost 2 years ago after hyperextending my knee on the stairs. Now, I feel strong, stable, mobile, and young. Going to attempt my first real cut instead of a "diet". I assume that if I continue to lift the weight I am currently that I'm retaining muscle. Strong would be a nice program to make it more probable to happen. 😊

    You guys answered my question about building a back like the statue of Hercules!!! Thank you for the tip about focusing on the deadlift to get that 3D look and doing rounded upper back lifts like zercher deadlift, zercher squats, sandbag carries, and unsupported rows. You guys are the absolute best podcast I listen to and I can’t wait to take your advice since you guys have never failed me before! One day I’ll reach that 400lb deadlift Adam, I weigh 155 at 5’6” so it’ll be 2.58 times my body weight which is a great goal🫡

    I spent an entire lifetime dieting and getting results until i hit menopause. Now, to get weight loss i have to fast 48 hours x3 weekly. It was too much. I realized i needed more protein after watching you guys, i bought resistance bands and have added a morning protein shake. I have watched my biceps go from zero to wow! Educated people overestimate the sum of their knowledge. I am a top earning lawyer but I clearly knew zero about muscle until 4 weeks ago. Mad respect for the gym bros and your expertise.

    Weird how Justin mentioned religion and how people make false idols out of things like money, or celebrities, ect. I just finished up a 6 week bible study at my church about that exact topic, and how most people don't realize they make idols out of things like money, power, or other people.     The progress part hits me because I have lost 65 lbs and I tried to focus on habits now I’ve been stuck for a year so I’m focusing on learning in nutrition rather than not being sedentary. It’s like phases of learning a new aspect of health.

    As an advanced lifter I’ve found that I need to be completely dialed in for multiple weeks (diet, sleep, rest, training programming) to see any measurable progress. Stark contrast to 10 years ago when I was 25 when I could play hopscotch on the machines and do everything else wrong and still see weekly progress!

    Cardio is better for BDNF
    Better for your heart
    A combination of both is superior

    I did cardio before resistance training because I didn’t want to look bulky. I stopped doing cardio and lifted 3x a week now and down 30lb. Ppl will avoid it but that recipe works.

    Man, I know you guys must hear this all the time but I was literally just trying to explain this to my friend today. He's telling me how he's intermintent fasting and cutting and doing all this cardio to lose fat. And I'm trying to explain to him how chasing shit is why he yo-yo's and how chasing esthetics while he doesn't have the lifestyle basics mastered yet just leads to disapointment. I keep hammering him on hitting his protein, cutting out ultra processed foods, lifting heavy and NO cardio is the key to what he's looking for but it takes time. I just got him on the LMNT bandwagon so I know I'm making some end roads. Anyways, it's crazy how you seem to continually theme your shows timely with the journeys of your listeners.

    At 31:45 , 2 or 3 Jobs, If you are living alone you could do that. If you had a familiy how the hell would you ever spend time with your kids. Always working to make money to spend on material things. I would rather spend more time with my kids/Familiy/friends. Life is not only about work.

    Can you guys do a video on saturated fats ? Good ones bad ones and what makes the good ones necessary to our overall health. A fitness influencer blocked me because she was sending the message that ALL saturated fats are bad and she has 100 thousand followers, I didn’t care about being right I care about people being misinformed. I’d love for you guys to do an episode on that.

    The “Indian Sport” is called Kabaddi. You have to get into the opposition’s zone one one breath of saying “Kabaddi” over and over. The opposition are trying to grab you and hold.

Adam, as much as I understand your perspective, as a consumer it would be so nice to get supplements from a source that I trust! There are so many produced that are of terrible quality, its hard to know what to trust.     Curious question to anyone who sees this. I just recently started deadlifting for the first time. I weigh about 180, and the most so far I've been able to do is 205 for the deadlift, but now when I do it my left knee gets a sharp pain and I have to reduce the weight so I don't feel pain anymore. I don't remember what I reduced it down to, it was just the last time but it might have been around 150 and I was fine.
    Does anyone know how I can avoid knee pain? Is that a common injury with that move? It only started the last time I did it and tried to force out another rep or two which was a mistake. I only just started using a barbell and doing these major lifts and upon hearing all the benefits of the deadlift, I want to get good at that but I feel 205 is pretty light based on what I've been hearing. But of course even more so 150 pounds. So I don't want to be stuck there. I was hoping maybe within a few months I could max out at 300 (the most amount of weight I have at the moment) and eventually grow from there when I get more equipment.

    These guys remind me of Jerry Ward in a way, Jerry was one of the first back in 2012 to say that cardio isn't necessarily the best answer for everyone to lose fat and keep it off. He qas a trailblazer having honest discussions on the shitty nature of the supplement industry and hpw steroids work plus he went against the grain on the super high volume training and gimmicky diets that were huge back then in 2011-2015.

    I listened on Spotify - And I'm disappointed in your comment about the young girl having a hard time in her first 9-5 job... the first year is shit for many - just like when you start training. You guys have always been preaching about working hard to get results - so help her and others instead. Let's use an analogy - She's been going to the gym for a few weeks, and maybe got hurt and is crying because getting in shape is hard - like others.
    So if I get this right, you guys would literally laugh at her? instead of helping her and others get their gains? If that's the case, you lost me in that podcast. I'll be 50 soon, running a business and working out for more than 20 years and I've had my weak moments too - like many.
    Hope you guys address your approach. As I learned with my kids - encourage for results - similar to the 1 minute manager really. But laughing at them, and going in with "Well my dad..." is kinda boring and old school. Let's be smart and modern instead.

    Hey mind pump my muscle imbalance are getting out off hand I train the weaker side more but still should I completely change to uni laterall work I have been traing for a year but use to train heaps never had imbalance to the point I can’t bench straight any more it started with my right lat then my right quad and right chest now I even walk differently it’s doing my head in

    The youth keeps seeing stories about how you can work 4 hours twice a week and make 10K/month... We grew up and were told/taught to get in there and work... nobody wanted to hear us cry 😀 Life doesn't work that way... Plus if she'd hit the gym she'd feel better

    That Senegal wrestling is a different sport than folkstyle American wrestling. Those guys would not do well in the NCAA until they spent a season or longer most likely learning the different sport under the given rule set. It's another grappling system that takes place on sand and I am not sure what the goal is but anyone on their home turf ,(,not as in home team but with respect to people playing their game / national sport than no one else does are going to be the best at it until their coaches begin spreading the sport in other countries.

    Tesla didn’t get a bailout because they were just starting up, but they did get that good socialist government money. Their quality control is blown out of proportion, but they are made with some poor quality parts. The 1st model I believe was the roadster, which they don’t make anymore, all the other models have raised in price. Ferrari has horrible reliability, but I think it’s because they aren’t driven very much (they are also stubborn, look no further than the movie Rush, which Nikki Lauda called their F1 race car a “shitbox”)
    Deadlifts are so boss, I thought they weren’t for me because of the degeneration in my lower spine, not the case.

    That thing an the Starbucks productivity analyzer was the focus of an entire episode of Suits back in the day. One of the up and coming associates nearly fired an attorney bc an algorithm told her he was least productive. In the end, though, he had other life stressors that were lowering his effectiveness and also though the skills he brought to the firm were more in the form of emotional connections

    Take the video of the girl crying about her hard life and make it a man instead of a girl. Absolutely no one would hve been defending that man they would either be berating him or telling hik to suck it the f up get to work and start making money. I tell my daughter this all the time crying doesnt get you anything. Use your words and actions to either help yourself or get help from aomeone else!
