I love to hear this!! I am a petite person and my maintenance is like 2300. it does not make sense on paper but it's real! I see so many women my age hardly eating and can't get rid of 20-30lbs!

    • @ashleyb85
      @ashleyb85 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

I needed to hear this. I’m currently trusting these guys. I’m doing my first bulk. I’ve been trying to lose the last 20lbs for well over a year. I got to the point where I could not lose weight unless I literally starved myself (fasting) . All while being an avid weight lifter but I never done an intentional bulk. I’m 1.5 month into the bulk I’ve gained some weight but it’s manageable. I’m going to keep bulking until next year. 💪

@@facesbylucy ive noticed several women have said that. I talk alot about nutrition and women that don't eat, even on dates, I'll ask why are you not eating we can order something else? It happened more with kinda chubby girls it was because they wanted to eat less, but they just gained weight and stayed chubby. I was suspicious that maybe they didn't workout enough 🤔
Then petite girls would eat ridiculous, and didn't gain weight , I would ask you must workout...to my surprise they didn't or not nearly as the chubby girls did.
I think its more complicated for women, than for men.
can I ask what your diet is like, what do you normally eat?

I found you guys about a month ago and have been listening to you daily. Not only has your content verified and explained my constant yo-yo results, but has completely changed the way I view cardio and my metabolism. You have articulated exactly why I have been so up and down my entire life with prioritising cardio over strength training, and the implications this has had on my metabolism. I've reduced calories time and time again to lose body fat through my own unconscious incompetence where I have unknowingly lowered my maintenance and caused a bigger problem. Many thanks from Australia.

I started lifting at 1,400 kcal maintenance weighing ~118lbs at 5'8. Four years later, I'm sitting at 140lbs and my maintenance is now 2,600-2,800 and I have to increase that even more if I'm more active on certain days (I have a pretty active job). Lifting is amazing, I basically eat whatever I want (obviously within reason and while making mostly healthy choices) and I feel the best I've ever felt.

I found you guys about a month ago. Little bit about me I’m 47 and lifted and played sports my whole life from wrestling, football and baseball since i was a kid then tad an adult Russian sambo, jits, boxing, Muay Thai, grappling, mma for 11 years and rugby for a few years. 5 years ago I switched jobs. I went from being a residential hvac service tech to a commercial refrigeration tech and it quickly turned in to 100+ hours a week, stress, no sleep, stopped eating enough because I was missing my family so I started drinking every day to deal with it. Six months ago I quit and went back to being a residential service tech and couldn’t be happier. I’ve stopped drinking I’m eating again and instead of joining the gym again I decided to do the home gym to include my wife and kids. I’ve decided not to program this time and use maps. I’m going to get maps bands for my wife and kids to start but which program would you recommend for me?
Thank you for all you do and

I feel like a copy machine after reading all these comments. I too was stuck at yoyo dieting. I have been overweight my whole life. My dad's side of the family are all morbidly obese with a plethora of health issues. I have always been afraid of falling into that trap. I was always focused on a number. After years of eating 1200 calories, listening to mind pump changed my life. I am reverse dieting and weightlifting 3-5 times a week and am currently at 1950 calories and have not gained a pound. I am shocked to see that. Before, I would eat out one day and gain like 5 pounds. I have just reached 1950 calories a week ago and am wondering how long to stay at maintenence before cutting to revamp my metabolism?

My one client had lost about 20lbs on her own but hit a plateau. When I started working with her she had only been eating 1500 calories. Over the following months I put her on a standard reverse diet, she literally lost more weight while increasing her calories than she did before. Now her maintenance is about 2200/2300 and she's lost almost 50lbs!!! From 210 to 166! Now just about all the people I work with, I put them on a reverse diet first. It just makes cutting so much easier when the only way you're overeating, is if you actively try to overeat!

Re: Arranged Marriages - I think a large part of the success is just realizing that "This is how it is", and not fighting yourself over it. Sometimes "Choice" creates anxiety to "make a choice". Did I choose wrong, did I miss something, did i miss out on something, did someone do better just by waiting for mr/mrs right. The other 1/2 is that sometimes "We've Chosen", but that choice isn't available to us - the rich person, the beautiful person, the person with the perfect sense of humor.. And then we are presented with a lesser choice... Are we settling? Are we not trying hard enough?
At the end of the day, being American, I want that choice. But I think on the average it creates a societal swirl, and some of it is unhappy. But that's OK.

I have basically been overweight for my entire life and have lost around 100 pounds three times just since 2012. When I started my recent weight loss journey in late 2020, I was on a cut until 2022, got down to 152 pounds (from 270+) until it felt like I bounced off a wall. I am now switching to eating a bit more and more muscle building workouts.

I personally think the reason building muscle increases your metabolism is purely sending the muscle building signal via weight training, it just takes a lot of calories to recover and build. This sounds stupid but I literally feel it. After a hard leg day I just feel my body absorbing all the nutrients and I’m super hungry. Even if you have a lot of muscle, if you don’t send that muscle building signal your metabolism won’t be as high, for example if you take a week off you’ll burn less calories

I never thought I would get to the point where eating food is becoming a chore. I'm really focusing on building strength throughout the winter and doing a slight bulk. I'm at like 3200 calories with 200 grams of protein (I'm 6'4 245ish ) and some days I struggle to get in my last meal, typically it's even a small meal because I eat a big breakfast and lunch. I should probably do a mini cut or something.

The most confusing thing for me was and is the statement you have to be in a caloric deficit. What does that even mean for me? There are a million calorie calculators. What about focusing on protein. Is it based BMR or RMR then activity on top of that which can change day to day. What is reverse dieting? In last couple of months I've gained Muscle/bone denstiy (aka muscle density?), gained weight, lost body fat, body composition similar? So confused

Arranged marriages also have alot of abuse in them. There is also the view of getting married first THEN dating and getting to know each other but many times it doesn't work.
