The EASIEST Way to Clean Your Kitchen Cabinets | Day 2 Spring Cleaning Spree 2024

- Welcome to Day 2 of the Spring Cleaning Spree 2024! Our kitchen cabinets are a spot in our kitchens that can easily be ignored throughout the year. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Today was the perfect time, then, to open those cabinet doors and see what dirt and grime was hiding away. Depending on what your cabinetry is made of will affect what type of cleaner you’ll want to use. If you have natural wood cabinets I love to use Murphy Oil, as it does really well to refresh the wood and bring back that beautiful natural shine. If you have painted cabinets, my go-to cleaning solution is a gallon bucket of water with a few drops of Dawn Dish Soap. I then use my three-towel system; one microfiber towel that is damp with the cleaning solution to clean, one towel damp with just water to rinse, and a third dry microfiber towel to buff and dry. Our cabinets can be a big job, so feel free to break it into sections if need be. Once you’re done give yourself a big high five and I’ll see you tomorrow when we clean our refrigerator! #cleaning #springcleaningspree2024
My Aunt taught me to put a piece of wax paper on top of the upper cabinet use a little making tape to keep it from rolling up. Next time you clean you can just throw it away along with the greasy film, works perfectly.

I liked how you put the items in container, I usually put on towel. I like the container idea because I could easily move as I need to. 🎉
We wish we knew someone who cleans as good as you do. We would hire for help once in awhile. Especially before the holidays or when schedules get too busy for too long. Things get stressful at times. Thank you for your channel and tips. Love the bin to empty the drawer for silverware. We put everything on a clean towel. A bin would be nice to just move everything if lunch or dinner happens in the middle of a clean.
As someone with OCD, this is overwhelming. I could spend two hours on one cabinet, getting it perfect! ...Now imagine moving into an apartment with a kitchen covered in grease! 😱😱😱 I'm not even touching the cabinets under the sink- I'm hiring a deep cleaner before I lose my mind!!
I feel ya. I don’t think I have OCD, but I take longer than the average bear to clean things because I want it cleaned to a certain level. It’s so hard to “half butt” clean anything without feeling bad about it. Half butt is better than none, but I wanna go full butt!! lol
How do you remove and clean off oil/Grease from the cabinets near the stove? Need a video on that. Tried that Murphy's wood no luck.
Use a degreaser spray like citrus cleaner or krud kutter. ALWAYS test on an inconspicuous area FIRST, to make sure it won't damage the finish. Some degreasers are VERY strong and will strip paint.
The degreaser is strong an takes the paint off. It's best to clean it every time you cook with grease instead of letting it build up.
Dawn power wash, or reg Dawn dishsoap in water. Always test a spot first for different woods or painted cabinets.
A dishsoap in water that has a degreaser in it. Or a degreasing power spray for dishes.
I lay some foil on the top of my cabinates, makes it way easier to clean and can not be seen.
Or newspapers! If people still read those 😂

Great idea! Foil is a better option over paper towels or newspapers. Paper will attract and feed silverfish.

My apartment cabinets have molding all the way to the ceiling instead of leaving that area open. I never knew that was an option! You lose a little storage space, but never have to clean out greasy dust bunnies 👍
What is the best way to remove old caked-on grease and dust that permanently lives in the molding? 😅

I always use shelf and drawer liners. I have been in my new house for 9 years and am moving. Cleaning out the drawers has been a breeze as all I have to do is take stuff out and throw away the liners. They look like new.

I’m wondering that too. Looks very handy for this kind of job. I like the idea of using a smaller, presumably “cleaner” brush attachment for vacuuming kitchen cabinets & drawers (storing utensils, plates, etc).
So I custom made that strap with a bungee cord and a strap from an old messenger bag 😅

Also, I watched a video where you vacuum out the window seals and tracks. All I could think about was that filthy vacuum brush. How could you ever get it clean enough to touch your drawers or shelves in the kitchen??? Even boiling it would not do the trick. That's a case of something LOOKING clean versus actually BEING sanitized and clean.
I moved into an apartment and I looked on top of the cabinets...I think the grease up there is older than I am.

Hey how do you get grease off of wood cabinets with brass handles? My grandmas kitchen cabinets have a bit of old grease on them and I’ve tried everything to get it off even dawn!
HELP! My problem is.... the filthy vacuum/ brush touching the inside of my cabinets and drawers. I would have to sanitize them before returning any clean dishes. I don't want the filthy vacuum touching my drawers & shelves. OCD. 😿

Honestly it pisses me off that so many "unused" surfaces in the kitchen get BOTH tacky and dusty like the top of cabinet sides. Like I'm cooking all the way over THERE 😤😂 so gross to discover re-discover the dirty film every year or so...

My cabinets are all painted, inside and out
For those I just use a teaspoon of dawn dish soap in a bucket of warm water.

You make it look so easy but i live with someone who likes to hoard things and he makes it difficult to clean because all of the junk is his and he gets upset when you change things because he likes having things in certain places.

Great idea with the plastic storage box. I have a tiny kitchen with little counter space, so this would help immensely. The cabinets you cleaned are almost identical to mine....hope these look that good when I'm done!
