- There's a filthy side to airplanes that you will have NEVER seen before..
Airplane maintenance ensures the safety, reliability, and efficiency of aircraft through a range of comprehensive procedures and inspections and the first of these is arguably the most importantly. A team of highly experienced engineers clean the fleets largest aircrafts in order to check for any cracks or blights that may cause an issue during flights.

Retired Certified A&P Aircraft Maintenance Technician AMT with 47 years experience. All Maintenance Hubs I worked the aircraft were in our possession for no more than 35 days unless we found something that would take longer to repair.
how long it take to service an aircraft?
boeing: hold my maintenance crew.
As an Aircraft maintenance student i have the luck of having one of my professor being a former director of maintenance for a big airlines company, the amount of "behind the scenes" information is giving us are enormous, considering how little this "business" is know despite the enormous financial resources aircraft maintenance drains everyday from airlines company, but that's the price you have to pay if you want to fly safely (and an air accident is way more expensive than paying and sustaining a maintenance programme). Without going any further (a youtube comment isn't enough to explain all). Aircraft scheduled maintenance is composed of checks that needs to be carried out either at x flight hours or y cycle.
Aircraft grounded= company is losing money for everyday it's not flying.
there are 4 type of checks: A,B,C,D, where A, and B are the most "light" and less time consuming (the aircraft don't stay grounded for that long, usually couple of days) while C, and D are the most heavy and expensive (a D check could easily cost a couple million dollar and last 3/4 months)
The check performed in the video is a C Check.
Right now most of modern airlines company (talking for Europe) when in need to perform heavy checks (especially C and D) brings their planes to Asia, where they get the same job done but paying way less money than doing the same but in an European facility.
Either big companies have their local subsidiaries (like lufthansa does in philippines with Lufthansa Technik Philippines) or they just pay other asian aircraft maintenance company (HAECO mostly) to have the job done (always in accordance with the regulation).
Congratulations to all the personnel, maintenance its a vital part of a safe, plane, performance, and long service life, thanks very good video.
Great video.
Superb ! 👍
That's awesome of technology and human brains 🙏 👏
Geez....for this clip, they're ALL wearing brand new safety gear and uniforms.....😂🤣😂
I did enjoy watching this video since I am passionate of air crafts, I wish I can do such a job
So cool
From 2018 this airframe flies in Russia for Ural Airlines...
8:32 there it is! It’s the famous Airbus PTU or ’Barking Dog’ 😀 and as it’s from a long time ago when Monarch was around i bet it barked really loudly !
Shocked at the dust in the walls
No wonder why Monarch went out of business.
There's got to be better more efficient ways to clean outside/inside the aircraft.
Hand cleaning??....I've seen other airlines use power jet washers and buffing machines.
Surely the staff questioned it too lol
Its bob the builder narrating 😂
Can he fix it 🤔 No he can't it's fucked 😂
Really old video. Monarch went bust years ago
“The special toilet cleaning…. thing is removed”
HOW ABOUT MAKING AN UP TO DATE VIDEO IN THIS?
is this a c check?
Tbh, I want this job. 😂
Service? This was only cleaning. Would have been nice to see the service also.
