Really liked presentation, born in 56 ,I spent a lot of my youth hanging around implement and car dealers ,always in the service departmentsIn a town of 2000 people in the northern plains,my IH FARMALL DEALER WAS ALSO THE PONTIAC DEALER, watching an old M get split in half for repair one day after grade school, the next day watch a new 65 GTO GET PDI’D for delivery!!I would not trade these memories for anything.

God I miss our old IH dealer, Forsyth-Stokes Tractor Company, in Winston-Salem, N.C. Now the nearest CaseIH dealer is in Union-Grove.

Great compilation as always. I really appreciate all the work that goes into making all your videos. I actually remember the last vertical dealer signs IH had and I was born just 2 years before the demise of IH.

Great video. We use to have an International 1086. It was a great tractor. It was a sad day when IH left our town. They were a damn good company and made a good product. We still own my great grandfather 1942 International K5 flatbed. She runs and drives. It's a great truck. It just needs a transmission rebuild here soon. After years and years of running she shifts a little to hard. But the motor runs like a top. She fires up every time. My great grandfather left her sitting for about 30 years untill my father and grandfather decided to try to resurrect her. They changed the oil, and threw some gas in and she fired right up. Well after a couple tries that is. But she was built like a tank. Great video. Keep up the good work.

8:49 Earl Shade Winchester Va on Rt 11 on the North end of town. Later Shade also owned a Minneapolis Moline dealership a couple miles north on Rt 11. It's still there but is Shade Truck Body These photos are great!

Many, many miles on an International Transtar II with the eagle package (at 19:45), packing a 350 Cummins backed up with an RTO 9513 Roadranger 13 speed transmission. Back when long hauling was truly an adventure! Even before CB's!

Hello, I have got a question I hope you can answer. I have a buddy who has a 1978 give or take International Transtar Eagle adition long nose. It has an extend frame on it (for hauling spuds) It has a Cummins engine in it. He says it still runs. What makes it an Eagle adition? and are they any good? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

      CWMORGAN 4240
The International Transtar II was a COE if you had the "Eagle Package" it meant you had all the bells & whistles when it came to driver comfort. eg: leather upholstery, climate and stereo controls both panel and bunk, heated mirrors, extra insulation & padding, etc.
      Hope that helps.

yes, that makes since because it had, keyword had a nice interior. lol. Would you say it's a good truck? It's the long nose berson, not the cab over, I don't know if that makes a difference but you never know.

      CWMORGAN 4240 CAUTION
Remember this unit you describe is almost 40 years old. The cost of repair and upgrading (think enviro regs) could be prohibitive.
      Good luck.

Ahhhh, it's just a spud truck. It's bed is only designed to haul around 50000 pounds. Nothing sectacular. I doubt it needs the emissions equpment where I live. I don't think the law requires it.

I like the pictures showing the WWII scrap drives. Some might have thought they were showing junk piles, and they were that, but the nation had rallied behind a cause.

Turned a few wrenches in what had been the IH dealership in Virginia Ne, Bach in the day. Always felt a lot of history in that old building. Ghosts of mechanics past, I guess. Sadly a tornado took it about 12 years ago. Thanks for the great video!

Thank you for that video. I’ve been looking for pics for my dad who was a salesman from 1972 until 2011 or 12 in Springfield Il, and they are hard to find. Can you tell me if any of those dealerships are in Springfield Illinois ? So hard to tell bc so many of the brick buildings look alike.

Nice music, nice pictures, until you started using the same things over again. This video should have been one fifth as long as it was. I watched a little over five minutes just for the music.
