Just came back from Korat. Can't belive you never mentioned Bung Ta Lua park, wonderful walk around the lake for a couple of hours. Chance to see the fighter jets taking off and landing as its by an air Base. Certainly is an amazing place with lots to do. I went to one temple at night, some music going on. I didn't hang about haha.
Great video, Trev. Last year i've been to Korat and also Buriram. I loved it. Rural Thailand is the real Thailand. Guys, don't get me wrong: i love Pattaya, it has all that you can wish for in a city. But i like to be out and about for a change of scenery and explore.

Excellent video, Trev. I like Korat but haven't been to that particular temple yet. Another to add on the list. I just recently went to see the Black Buddha in Hua Hin. Wow.
After 6 days with my girlfriend in Khon Kaen, Kranuan and visiting her village (without name) I have to say - an interesting experience; but I was happy to be back in Pattaya afterwards.
Trevor total respect for you,Nan and your wrist bands. So many things that happen in life that we can’t explain why shouldn’t we have some sort of belief and who gives a dam about what other people think.I’m with you all the way.
I used to feel lucky once I got a wrist band from one of the elders in a village, they give it with all their heart, I'd take them off once i got home from hols but still keep them in a drawer
I'm not religious but do respect Thai culture surrounding their belief system. I dont go regulary but do make an effort to visit important religious sites. I particularly like the garden of contemplation at Pattaya viewpoint. Opposite end to the admiral statue. A serene place with statues, bronze bells, monuments and small pools. Great for a chill out.
Had great times up outside Bangkok, The great Buddha at Mukdahan was awesome and the people all around were really friendly The countryside reminds me of Kentucky or Alabama and the people are similar too. Good salt of the earth folk! The Sri Chai Mongkoi Grand Pagoda, Pha Nam Yoi was also very breathtaking. Udon Thani is pretty cool as well and there is a cool giant frog in Yosothon where my fiance lives. As for the bands, my girl's mom gave me a few 2 years ago and I still wear them. She passed last year, nice lady. I feel the same way about the bands. The country is wonderful, people love their country and for good reason.
Good video Trev, am same, i love it in the village, nice quiet and slow pace of life, Pattaya is only a few day's at each end of the time in Thailand (that's enough for me) I've done enough in Pattaya over the year's that it now gets boring to be honest.
It's a bit more than 1.30 hours, but there's a place called Nakhon Nayok, it's one of the biggest growing tourist places in Thailand. It would be good to see it in one of your blogs Trev
There's alot in stuff you'd think is a coincidence Trev:). In the West we are conditioned to not believe anything that is non physical..but there is people out there that are definitely connected beyond us mere mortals...god bless nan❤

First Thai girlfriend from Korat area. She took me to visit her parents....... Her house was a shack. Corrigated metal walls, roof...mass of clutter in "living area" up the outside wooden steps. I was 24 and alone in Thailand. It was an odd experience falling asleep on a wooden floor with huge gaps allowing me to see the chickens clucking away, 6 feet below coupled with eastern thai music wafting in and out of my semi-conscious state. "Shower" was in a corrigated toilet....ceramic hole in floor and a huge ceramic urn full of water with mosquitos everywhere. Used the urn water to flush the toilet and then "shower" by stripping naked and scooping the water out with a plastic bowl whilst standing in mud and pouring it over your head. It's a very refreshing way to have a shower but the poverty was a little too much which was driven home further when her brother had to dive into a large pond to cut some water lillies for dinner Nice girl, not a working girl..had her own hair salon in BKK...but once the novelty of first Thai girlfriend wore off, it became too stark how different our worlds were.....and then I experienced the fun of separating from a Thai girl...
