So at what point does Zag stop paying her to be there?

      Would you now ?
She is a bit too young for me.I am 67 years old.A young woman like that would be overwhelming. Someone my age well it would be different for this old heart of mine. But I doubt it would fix my loneliness.
      A nice story though.

Curiosity is not "peaked" -- it is "piqued."
Spaceport "on the outskirts" of EARTH? Where exactly would that be -- the Moon?

Thought of a live movie romcom rendition with a famous beautiful romcom actress! They rally back together in the end after some big doubts!

So ah... did his alien friend sent a wife to him like "hey, you look like wife material for my friend. Go to Earth and surprise him, cause it's his birthday" ?

I really liked the story but it left me wondering what Alicia was told to make her agree to be a gift?

      Hah, bullshit.
Look, I dunno you but I can tell you right now that is bullshit. I felt the same way for a good portion of my 20s - 30s. Job I worked had me doing horrible hours, working holidays, weekends. 16 hour shifts sometimes in the day, sometimes at night, not to mention the raw danger of it (law enforcement). I was entirely sure that I would never find anyone. I was wrong. If something is important to you, you make time for it and you go searching. Oh and dating sucks, really sucks. I started and stopped several times, had some really bad first dates, couple of them turned into second or third dates and then just stopped working. Mainly because of my job, was hard to find the time to actually build a relationship with someone.
That all changed when I met my wife. It had some initial rough patches, but it did work out. Been married for 6 years now and its going great and I can't fathom how I functioned before she came into my life.
I'm just a stranger on the internet, but I tell you this now. Don't count yourself out, don't accept loneliness unless you just absolutely have to. Doesn't matter what your sexual orientation is, doesn't matter your race or religion. If you're willing to keep an open mind and take some action you can find someone. It won't be easy, it might take awhile but we humans are meant to function as social creatures. Its how we survived and our mating behaviors reflect that. Our minds and hearts cry out for another and sometimes we've been crying out for so long we no longer can recognize that we're doing it.
All you have to do is be willing. If you can do that, you can find someone. I am reminded of something my father told me. He said you as a man can make a place you can live in, you can get all that you need and more but you will never have a home until you wake up one morning and see that beautiful creature giving you that stunning smile that can bring you to your knees. Men make shelters, women make homes.
Its a bit of a dated outlook on things, but I get what he is aiming at with it. Don't give up friend and don't count yourself out.

My irritation is that with the HFY tag i expect there to be a story i can READ. These damned audio stories are monotonous.

Sweet story.. fucking awkward as all hell though. Dude's alien homie ships him a hottie mail order bride from his home planet and she doesn't even question it. You shipping me across the galaxy to go shack up with your pathetic lonely human homie? You son of a bitch, I'm in
It would probably make more sense if we had more context about her species. There are all kinds of cultural taboos this steps on for us mere humans and Roger doesn't even hesitate. He sees alien hottie and probably sent a mental high five over to zag because zag nailed his tastes in blue alien women. I mean this is akin to your buddy sending you a strippergram for your birthday, except the stripper then unpacks her stuff and just starts living with you after it. I mean, the dude bro part of me is jelly, but the adult human part of me would be all kinds of awkward about this at first. Not just because she is hot or anything, but because there is now another living person has suddenly moved in with me a whim. I mean did she crash out on the couch for awhile or did she just slide right on into the sheets with this strange pink thing she is now living with. Girl doesn't give any kind of hint of limitations either she immediately starts behaving like they've been dating for awhile. Honestly, it probably would of added more to the story if they described an awkward "ok who are you?" time period of a couple of weeks while Roger and Alicia actually adapt to each other. There just isn't any real relationship building, it goes to Hi, your friend sent me to alright lets go back to your place in the course of about 30 seconds. Dude is a bachelor, so his apartment was pristine? I never like to be messy but he had no idea he would be bringing someone back home with him. No goofy scene of him trying to scramble around to pick up the random things that he probably just left out? Dishes in the sink, laundry on the floor.. nothing?
Yeah this story is framed in the companionship framework, but there would of been an immensely awkward period of time there where Roger who has been living alone for god knows how long just all of a sudden now has a 10/10 alien woman that just hangs out with him and helps him with stuff. I mean talk about being in debt to someone, Roger owes Zag a million interstellar lunches and finding a human lady to send over to him or something lol.
