Your seedlings look wonderful. I also love all your Bootstrap Farmer pots and trays. I just bought one of the seed starting kits and am loving the quality.
@@SoilandMargaritas totally agree. I’m already figuring out what my second order will be, one week after my Ultimate backyard bundle arrived. I’m trying to decide if I need some of the 5 inch pots along with a whole bunch of other stuff.
Thank you Roxana for showing us all your plants grown from seed. This is no easy task. Just moving this many trays around is a lot of work. I have about 12-15 trays and it's getting hard to water and attend to them all. I'm just about to harden off and hopefully get my plants in the ground or their containers!! I'm ready to turn the corner and get Spring planting underway! I'm also growing Dahlia from seed this year. 🤞
Roxanne you grew an entire nursery of seedlings!! They look amazing, looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labor:) i started my seeds last week and they are doing great, and i bought about $40 worth of starts which i "accidentally killed ". Im gonna do my best to focus on growing my own plants, its so much more economical
I give you and all the other channels creiditfor planting your own plants by seed it looks like a lot work and time but I bet you save a lot of money everthing at the nurseries have gone up your coelius looks so pretty you’ve done very well with all seedlings good luck
I never in all my years of gardening have I never heard of Malabar Spinach , interesting. I just came home from a plant nursery and got myself 2 six packs of coleus, it’s the Wizard mix , I’m sooo excited, they did awesome in my container last year , even in lots of sun . Your coleus is over the top gorgeous. Congratulations on all the beautiful seedlings you grew
I’ve had issues with my tomato seedlings this year as well. In fact, I had to pull my Paul Robeson seedlings out because it looked like they were getting a disease! Same seeds as last year and perfectly healthy then. I am uppotting my healthy plants today and letting the rest go.
WOW! So exciting to see all the success. How great to get to this stage knowing planting is around the corner. Your garden is going to be so beautiful. Already is but i cant wait to see you create your flower beds.
Your seedlings look amazing! My tomatoes look kind of sad too.. I think I started too early and they're tired of being inside. But I just started hardening them off, so I'm hoping that's what they need. Yours will be happier outside too, I bet! 😊
My tomatoes are wonky this year as well. I’m half tempted to trash them and go buy some😒. I’ve started a LOT of seeds and they are the only things on the struggle bus.
Amazing progress! Those coleus are just beautiful. Be careful with the malabar spinach - it will take over everywhere and then reseed. I only planted 1 plant in a raised bed 4 years ago and I will forever have malabar spinach. I like to cook it and it does look pretty so I allow it to try to bully my other vining plants every season. My tomato seedlings are also struggling this year and I don't know why. They were fine inside and since hardening off they look very wimpy. This is the first year I've had that happen.
@@SoilandMargaritas Enough to feed 2 people all summer, when I harvested probably once a week. The more you harvest, the more it produces. We used it in stir fries and it disappears when you cook it the same way regular spinach does. My plant was in part shade too - if it is in full sun, it will really go for it. It loves hot and humid.
Your seedlings look good! I have a canna that I left in the ground that I thought was a goner after the winter, it's coming back! It's gonna mess up my landscaping lol
Your ginger looks amazing! Mine struggled this year and I only have a few plants😢 Same with my Turmeric, it just didn't want to sprout so I only have 1 plant
Your seedlings look great!!! I’m curious if you’ve tried just leaving cannas in the ground? They’re such hearty plants. They may survive and would save you a lot of work! I tried growing them from seed and I struggled with scraping the seeds. After all the trouble, they never flowered. I think I should’ve started sooner.
Storing dormant tubers indoors could be easier than starting from seed. Even if you lose some, the plants are prolific and usually make too many tubers in a season.
Your plants look amazing! I started hardening a couple days ago. It’s painfully slow. I feel like everything needs potting up but then think it almost time to get in the ground. Will you pot up the nasturtium or just put them in the ground soon? Also, I started celosia(the cockscomb and plume varieties) but thought they should be one per cell. Do they do well with a few clumped together or do you thin when you plant them out? I’m in Indy too. Love watching your channel!
I hear you! Nasturtiums will go straight into the ground or containers like that, I am already there so no need to put up in between. As far as celosia goes, I like to break the rules on that, I don't mind having multiple plants like that, if I have lots of them on one container I definitely could divide into smaller amounts but 2-4 I don't mind really, they will eventually get bigger space in my raised beds.
As always, I really appreciate that you share both your success and your "not the best this year" seedlings. I am always inspired watching your videos. Also, Do you pinch back your Red Salvia? Mine are growing well from seed I harvested last year but I can't remember if I should pinch them back?
Yes, I pinch salvia, marigolds, amaranth, peppers, celosia, strawflower, basil, dahlias, snapdragons... I'm sure I am forgetting to list the rest but I do like pinching
Beautiful! I have seedlings coming out my ears lol. I have close to 30 trays of them. It's definitely a juggle to harden them off. I have a cheap 8 shelf greenhouse I use to transition my seedlings and that helps. For the purple milket grass, should I plant them in groups? I have a 6 cell of them but each cell only has 1 seedling in it.
I have lots of seeds in one pot, that’s how I’m going to group them. I really like the multi spikes on the plants instead of just one but it depends the look you are going for.
They’re all looking really good. Takes a lot of patience to do and keep track of everything. Good luck! P.S. there’s a delicious Indian dish with Malabar spinach and “kala chana”. But it is kind of a thug 😅
Hardening off is the least fun time of starting seeds. I'm doing the same. You have so many pretty seedlings. I ran out of the bigger size containers so some of my plants are a little stunted because they are still in the small six packs. I want to get some of those 3" ones you have. Do you like them? I'm trying to decide if I should get the 3"or find some 4" ones.
I’m actually really surprised I have never seen or tasted a cucamelon lol not even when I was in Mexico - I’m kinda fascinated now! So I’m doing some research - Are they really as sour as people describe? The fruits are so CUTE!! 🥰
When do you start your seeds? I am new to Indiana, Indianapolis area the last 3 years and I feel like my timing is still off. I moved here from CA and it’s so different here!
Depends on what I’m starting, peppers, ginger, geraniums, coleus I started them in February and my tomatoes at the end of March, everything else in between. Last year I made lots of videos about starting everything but this year I just did some general updates

My tomatoes seedlings are like yours ... all leggy ... not as happy as last year and the same with my Marigolds they look awful ... I may just pitch them unless you think that if I where to plant them deep like tomato plants they just might beef up ,,, What are your thoughts on that ... ???
Be carefull with MALIBAR SPINACH! I grew it from seed last year and when it warmed up it took off! Three plants took over everything and it reseeded everywhere. Also my family didn't like the slimy texture and wouldn't eat it.
Your seedlings always look so healthy. Would love for you to do a seedling video on care once germinated. Your videos are peaceful and awesome.

Cardigans all the way here :)

Pot them up if you see the roots needing more space. Usually I do around week 3 for sure.
