Comment on starters: I have three in my opinion that you can “ink in” - Kylan Boswell; Ben Humrichous and Thomaslav Ivisic. If Bill Holley were coaching this team Ty Rogers would be the fourth, but I believe he will be a 6th man type this year and often in at end of close ball games. With those 4 you have a lot of age/experience. Just sayin’ …

Greg’s great! May be a Michigan fan but always gives Underwood and Illinois props.
He always always does this about us before the season and subsequently is proven wrong. Coleman made him look dumb last year hopefully kylan and ty do it this year.
Good thing about Greg is he’ll always admit if he ends up being wrong!
Good show so far; not done; Greg is a good choice for a guest; I like him; level headed guy; here’s my deal .. stop looking for “the guy” or “the top scorer, etc.”. Talk about depth and compare Illinis depth with the rest of the BT. Who cares who “leads” the team in scoring! 3rd and 4th quarter Illinois can blow teams out with the strength of their depth! Depth quite possibly that puts serious talent out there coming off the bench that may be better than what started that night; the combinations that may dazzle an opponent when they have their replacements enter in into what we have; AND .. we may be what I call “foul proof”. What we bring on nightly may increase our effort and outcome. I believe THIS is what will “lead” our team … possibly. 👍
Greg is great! And yeah, I think our depth is why I have us in the top 4. It's the Purdue and Indianas that are going to be a struggle.
I love the Hoosiers and Boilers rosters but the Illini have the highest ceiling of all three. I think they will be more dangerous come tourney time.
I agree. I know they are rivals and we don’t like them but I think clearly both have higher floors than the Illini. In particular Purdue, I’m still iffy on Woodson as a college basketball coach.
But if we’re talking about absolute ceilings, the more & more I learn about Illinois the more optimistic I’m getting for what levels they can achieve.
I WANT to be excited about this team and HOPE they play up to their potential. Realistically we need to pump the brakes on freshman producing at a high level. It's a pretty rare occasion that Euro players hit especially 1st year. We all know Brad has a super short leash with freshman.
Yeah I think there's a chance we're all riding a high after the month stretch we just had. We may need to adjust expectations as the season gets closer.
Greg is the Rudy Giuliani of college basketball and I am hopefully awaiting a podcast from Four Seasons Total Lawncare (TM). Love this take after the new 2025 draft projections come out with both KJ and WR going first round and one going lottery. Greg is a drama queen (as part of monetizing his content) including with his Michigan fighting weasels. He is not really a fan. Carter, I appreciate much more. He is more informed, judicious and clearly should be headlining their podcast. Draftapalooza was pretty nice ;)

I don’t mind Greg’s opinions here. Illinois is 95% different this year. Don’t get me wrong they have talent but they’re young and we don’t even know if it’s going to gel. They still haven’t finish a single practice together. I think at the end of the season we’ll see Illinois in the top 5 of the conference. I do not think they make an elite 8 run this year.
Agreed, he's not saying anything that can't happen. He's just pointing out the worst case scenario of the roster next season. I don't think it's going to happen but I'm not going to say he said anything that was unreasonable.

I may not always agree with him but I do like Greg and try to check in on the Sleepers at least once a week or so. I think what he was saying is that Domask was a college veteran who finished All Big ten. We may not have that sort of combo on this season’s team.
I just don’t get how anyone can view Indiana as the team to beat for a B1G Championship.
They were a middle of the pack team last season, that didn't make the NCAA Tournament. Now they've lost their best player to the NBA, and replaced him with Ballo, who isn't nearly as good as Ware.
How do you expect 2 post players like Ballo and Reneau to be on the court together when they basically play the same position. Especially on a team that still lacks outside shooting.
Indiana still looks like a flawed team to me. And I would take Illinos' talent over the Hoosiers any day of the week.
Unproven ? This guy knows they play basketball in Europe right against grown men ? We got 2 of those. And Riley . Why this infatuation with Boswell ? Juwan Howard is a joke , comparing him to Underwood is ridiculous.
To be fair, UCLA had a similar situation last year bringing imports and it didn’t work out. While we’re optimistic the games will translate, technically I understand what he’s saying when they’re unproven.
