I thought psvr2 is pretty cost effective. If you want to play pcvr at psvr2 level graphic, it will cost two times more than psvr2 and ps5 together. Not everyone have good gaming desktop from beginning.

PSVR2 is the new benchmark for VR console gaming and yall disparage it at your own peril. Wireless isn't ready, and anyone who actually plays VR regularly knows that. Graphics are the most important thing for immersion, and Quest has PS2 graphics. Tethered VR is better for the majority of gamers, as the majority of gamers play sitting down. Most people aren't trying to exercise while playing video games, which is why VR is still so niche.
Its a glimps into the future at best. Its hard to justify buying this unless you are really, REALLY, into VR. Otherwise it would be foolish to spend so much on a device you'll barely get to use. And I'd hate to see sony do anything foolish like cut development on major titles to try and push it hard like MS did with the Kinect. VR is still in that phase were its too expensive to take off. And the affordable options still aren't quite there yet.
Does what better? Psvr2 has better resolution, screens, refresh rate, and technology than 99% of vr headsets on the market. You can't find a vr headset that offers everything psvr2 offers or more in one package.

The PS5's VR2 really isn't that expensive relative to other VR experiences of similar specs. It seems it compared to the PS5 itself.. but comparing apples with apples it seems to be pretty good value

The quest 2 is 3 years old, its standlone, has passthrouh, its not tethered to a specific system, has more games, its cheaper, and has mlre use for more people rather than just playstation users, psvr beats it in specs (honestly barley) but overall eith no pc support and the lack of software and games its not close, i love sony but they shoukdve reduced the price and allow pc connectivity then it would be the best
At the price point it's at it beats anything psvr2 at only 500 has inside out tracking, a guardian system, eye tracking, manual ipd, oled displays, 2040x2000 per eye resolution, works with a console that doesn't cost 1.5-3k just to get similar performance, adaptive triggers, HD rumble in not just each controller but the headset itself. And sad that this is even having to be stated but it comes with the controllers which at 500 for similar performance and spec just does not happen and end up costing 300-800 just for those and often require their own base stations. Best thing to compare it is the quest 2 at that price and the fact it comes with everything. But it's tied to meta no way to meaningfully undo it, incredibly dated performance, the most lack luster controllers (not bad the move controllers and htc wands were bad but the quest and quest 2 controllers are super mid). It doesn't have eye tracking even tethered to PC it can't reach those resolutions. Plus the fact you need a link cable or a wifi 6 router for good link experience and a expensive computer. Has no rumble, the strap is super uncomfortable, audio solution is not good definelty needs headphones. Even 15 dollar earbuds offer more immersion. And it can even be more expensive then the psvr2 just to make it comfy and usable for long periods. elite strap, ear buds, the larger storage and honestly I myself like to have a battery pack before I sold it.
The straps aren't uncomfortable for me and I've used my quest 2 for hours on end multiple times, and why does it being "tied to meta" matter. Psvr 2 is obviously going to be "tied" to the playstation, both figuratively and literally. And I'm pretty sure I don't WANT vibration in my headset. Why would I want my face to vibrate? Lmao and base stations aren't needed. Rechargeable batteries exist outside the use of one. And the headset has a USB c port for a reason. It's really not that inconvenient to me. I also don't know why the price matters for any of this because if you're gonna buy a psvr2 you have to have a ps5 already and or buy one which will be over $1000 just for the console and headset alone WITHOUT any games

And your face doesn't vibrate it's a small hd motor so it's a soft feeling and it goes through the gasket to simulate things like wind a headshot etc. To give more input think switch joycon HD rumble. Meta is known for selling data and if your Facebook account gets banned for personal reasons or gets banned on headset you lose your account on both. Plus the specs don't match up for the price point. I didn't mention anything about batteries. It charged nice and I honestly prefere the AA battery swap for the quest anyway they last a while and if they die just switch them out back to play. I was just saying compared to psvr2 sense controllers and Valve Knuckles they don't have much to offer. I still love the quest. I owned mine from launch and owned the original till I traded it in for the 2 and didn't sell the 2 until November last year. I got my psvr2 yesterday and all I can say is wow what a amazing piece of tech! Sony nailed it with the package as a whole.. everything works flawlessly. The controllers, the eye tracking and how easy it is to setup. It takes literally 5 - 6 minutes to setup and launch your game. The display is beautiful and blows the oculus quest 2 out of the water even tethered. I own the quest 2, a pimax 8k and the original psvr. So yes the original psvr was not the best tech. The controllers and light tracking sucked. But it was the most comfortable vr headset I ever used. Sony knew how great the design of the headset was and built on that. The psvr2 is extremely light and super comfortable to wear. The controllers work amazing and track better then the oculus quest 2. ( yes there is some minor issues but that comes with inside out tracking no matter what) I was amazed about how incredible the viewing angles are and how high quality the screen is inside. The quest feels like you are looking through a set of binoculars. The psvr2 completely got rid of that feeling. I can continue to rant or just say how utterly wrong you guys are. I'm sorry but with how much tech and how high quality the materials are the psvr2 is actually way more value then what is being charged. All Sony needs to do now is allow the headset to be used on PC and they have a absolute hit the kills any other headset out there now... sorry you boys are wrong and Austin your excited about the apple headset... hmmm...are you ready to pay 1500 dollars or so for it with half the specs of other headsets because you know that is what Apple does.... don't deny it your a Microsoft fan boy and get paid by Microsoft to hate on Sony it's not right because you are not allowing this new piece of tech to get the respect it deserves!!!!! With the M1 and M2 being pretty damn stronk for the power they use, I think the Apple Reality Pro (if equipped with an M-Class Apple Chip) sounds like it could be really powerful. I wish Apple would just accept Vulcan. That would bring so many more game devs to Apple, and that would probably entice killer apps/games for the Reality Pro too.
Remind me to never listen to you guys when it comes to VR, because the PSVR2 is arguably the best VR experience you can buy right now. It literally outclasses the valve index, which was the reigning king since the day it launched. The only thing the PSVR2 is missing is a bigger library of games, which will be fixed with time.
Apple helped fund the development of RE Village and No Man's Sky to come to Mac. I think they did not care that much about those games for MacOS, I think it was mainly a way to get them native to Apple Silicon so that the VR versions of those games could come to their headset when it releases.
The only issue I have with the M3 chip is that Apple still hasn't finished fleshing out their entire product lineup with M2 chips yet. The iMac, for one, is still stuck with the M1. I personally think they should finish doing that first, and maybe see if they can iterate on it and get the most possible out of the M2 before bringing out it's successor. Otherwise they end up risking the one thing Apple hates and a major thing they always look down on the rest of the PC space for - muddying the waters of their product lineup with multiple generations of processors each with different capabilities. If Apple are good (and known) for one thing, it's that it doesn't matter what device you get - the _base_ performance of each one is a known quantity and reliable across the board. I don't think it's a good idea for them to lose that. Especially now they can actually _control_ that to a much higher degree thanks to their own in-house CPU chips.
I've seen a lot of people not happy with PSVR2 being wired and being more expensive then the console, and I've come to argue those points. Point 1 being wireless VR has done a great job of getting a lot of people to get in to vr without needing any additional hardware but if everyone tries to go wireless every single game made for VR will be made for mobile chips and then upscaled for higher end headsets. This is something we're already seeing, which is one of the primary reasons a lot of people think vr is dead because very few people are making VR games for high end vr, such as Half Life Alyx. It's just stupid to me that everyone overlooks the problems that come with a mobile chip. Point 2 is that PSVR1 was $400 on launch, the same price as a PS4, without any controllers or camera, you had to buy those separately so it was technically more in the end. And this is for a headset that was relatively low end compared to existing PC VR at the time, compared to what seems to be top of the line VR specs with the addition of adaptive triggers and haptic feedback with the 2.

Adding to that a lot of psvr developers have already announced psvr2 versions of their games. Maybe support will fall off later but right now it seems pretty solid
i think the most important aspect of cloud gaming is the total inconsistent nature of internet/wifi speed and quality. i have what i would consider as high speed internet (500mgps) and my house's walls has the ability to eat wifi

Hard disagree on the Meta Quest 3. The Meta Quest 2 is one of the worst tech products I've ever owned by a long shot and has turned me off of any Meta headset moving forward. I get that Quest 2 isn't a high end headset like a Valve Index, but when the experience is defined by update hell, buggy software that crashes and lags constantly, and a crappy Snapdragon chip that *CLEARLY* can't handle the workloads that are being thrown at the device, then it's just a garbage product. Even my *iPhone* absolutely demolishes the pathetic performance and stability of the Quest 2 and it's obvious that Meta has no idea what on earth it's doing. PSVR has its own issues (for one: who the hell outside of tech reviewers can even get a PS5 without getting on a waitlist?) but it's a VASTLY superior product to any Meta headset, even though it's just a dedicated gaming peripheral. I mean for Christ sake the Quest "Pro" doesn't even have depth sensors, which is what you need for true AR, yet Meta still charges north of a $1000 bucks for the thing. AR/VR will have its place, but it won't be through the subpar lowest-common-denominator products put out by Meta. Beyond this, foldable phones are a cheap gimmick and will always be a cheap gimmick no matter how advanced the OLED screens are. Give me a "boring" iPhone that is actually great vs. a form factor that just screams "look at me!" without actually solving an important problem. Fin.

Quest 3 is dead in the water if the Deckard also gets released this year. Steam VR is the only reason to currently own the quest 2. A headset with better specs and fully integrated with Steam... quest won't stand a chance.

@@DonaldHendleyBklynvexRecords i agree, ive been on vr since google cardboard and mk1 days and have had every headset pretty much. there is no such thing as the "right" headset, it all depends on what you want out of it or the type of content you want to use it for. we all want 8k or 12k vr but the reality is that its going to be many years before we have VR that doesn't FEEL like VR. people think that vr is meant to replicate life, but the reality is that VR is just a form of entertainment. you want "easy" vr, go with playstation but youll miss out on a ton of pc content and mods. you want mid range vr, get a quest 2, but it wont be the best quality. you want a "premium" headset , get an index but will be a more complicated experience if youre not tech savvy.
I think that they should make the LCD in the foldable more durable and stable and less likely to be like the previous version of the screens currently known defects and weaknesses!!

PSVR2 has a ton going for it, even compared to things like the index and other high-end PC headsets. The adaptive triggers, eye tracking, and even headset rumble are game changers for VR. And at half the price point of equivalent PC headsets or the Quest Pro.

I was saying for the same price you get Sony exclusives which are always insane, higher resolution, oled displays, same/higher fov then other headsets at the price, eye tracking, controllers included which not all headsets do for some reason (yes I know oculus does), eye tracking, hd rumble meaning more realistic haptic feed back like feeling the bullets in the chamber a shot being made spiderman you feel the web shot and it shaking under the movement of spiderman, the adaptive triggers, and an already premium feeling headset and a closed off audio solution even if it's not perfect. The quest 2 still has it's place. It's a very important piece of tech and inspires wireless standalone vr compition like the pico. Just if you already have a PS5 or want one to play flat screen games or the Sony exclusives like horizon spiderman or god of war then if you are looking for a well balanced headset for a reasonable price with some features not even most pc headsets have go for the psvr2.
I wasn't upset I was explaining that I don't personally think the quest 2 is uncomfortable l, and that it's not as expensive when you don't buy all the EXTRA stuff. And no, the quest 2 does not require a Facebook account to work anymore, that's old news.
So getting banned on Facebook does not relinquish you of using your quest device anymore as far as I know

I got my psvr2 yesterday and all I can say is wow what a amazing piece of tech! Sony nailed it with the package as a whole.. everything works flawlessly. The controllers, the eye tracking and how easy it is to setup. It takes literally 5 - 6 minutes to setup and launch your game. The display is beautiful and blows the oculus quest 2 out of the water even tethered. I own the quest 2, a pimax 8k and the original psvr. So yes the original psvr was not the best tech. The controllers and light tracking sucked. But it was the most comfortable vr headset I ever used. Sony knew how great the design of the headset was and built on that. The psvr2 is extremely light and super comfortable to wear. The controllers work amazing and track better then the oculus quest 2. ( yes there is some minor issues but that comes with inside out tracking no matter what) I was amazed about how incredible the viewing angles are and how high quality the screen is inside. The quest feels like you are looking through a set of binoculars. The psvr2 completely got rid of that feeling. I can continue to rant or just say how utterly wrong you guys are. I'm sorry but with how much tech and how high quality the materials are the psvr2 is actually way more value then what is being charged. All Sony needs to do now is allow the headset to be used on PC and they have a absolute hit the kills any other headset out there now... sorry you boys are wrong and Austin your excited about the apple headset... hmmm...are you ready to pay 1500 dollars or so for it with half the specs of other headsets because you know that is what Apple does.... don't deny it your a Microsoft fan boy and get paid by Microsoft to hate on Sony it's not right because you are not allowing this new piece of tech to get the respect it deserves!!!!! (OH and by the way I had to edit this I've been a loyal viewer for years even after I started to see the partnership between you and Microsoft I still never let it bother me. But this video is just frustrating you shouldn't be talking about a product you have never used and put it down like this. It's unfair to them why don't you give it a chance first you might be surprised on great it is.)

With the M1 and M2 being pretty damn stronk for the power they use, I think the Apple Reality Pro (if equipped with an M-Class Apple Chip) sounds like it could be really powerful. I wish Apple would just accept Vulcan. That would bring so many more game devs to Apple, and that would probably entice killer apps/games for the Reality Pro too.

It literally outclasses the valve index, which was the reigning king since the day it launched.
The only thing the PSVR2 is missing is a bigger library of games, which will be fixed with time.
And damn... How disappointing was the quest 3... Not only! More expensive, but I also lay down... That huge plat won't do it
Apple helped fund the development of RE Village and No Man's Sky to come to Mac. I think they did not care that much about those games for MacOS, I think it was mainly a way to get them native to Apple Silicon so that the VR versions of those games could come to their headset when it releases.

The only issue I have with the M3 chip is that Apple still hasn't finished fleshing out their entire product lineup with M2 chips yet. The iMac, for one, is still stuck with the M1. I personally think they should finish doing that first, and maybe see if they can iterate on it and get the most possible out of the M2 before bringing out it's successor. Otherwise they end up risking the one thing Apple hates and a major thing they always look down on the rest of the PC space for - muddying the waters of their product lineup with multiple generations of processors each with different capabilities. If Apple are good (and known) for one thing, it's that it doesn't matter what device you get - the _base_ performance of each one is a known quantity and reliable across the board. I don't think it's a good idea for them to lose that. Especially now they can actually _control_ that to a much higher degree thanks to their own in-house CPU chips.

ok, im really excited for psvr even on hardware alone so ok.
I've seen a lot of people not happy with PSVR2 being wired and being more expensive then the console, and I've come to argue those points.
Point 1 being wireless VR has done a great job of getting a lot of people to get in to vr without needing any additional hardware but if everyone tries to go wireless every single game made for VR will be made for mobile chips and then upscaled for higher end headsets. This is something we're already seeing, which is one of the primary reasons a lot of people think vr is dead because very few people are making VR games for high end vr, such as Half Life Alyx. It's just stupid to me that everyone overlooks the problems that come with a mobile chip.
Point 2 is that PSVR1 was $400 on launch, the same price as a PS4, without any controllers or camera, you had to buy those separately so it was technically more in the end. And this is for a headset that was relatively low end compared to existing PC VR at the time, compared to what seems to be top of the line VR specs with the addition of adaptive triggers and haptic feedback with the 2.

It's simple: it has no interesting games. And the fact that it won't be backwards compatible with PSVR1 games makes it completely useless.

Adding to that a lot of psvr developers have already announced psvr2 versions of their games.

i think the most important aspect of cloud gaming is the total inconsistent nature of internet/wifi speed and quality. i have what i would consider as high speed internet (500mgps) and my house's walls has the ability to eat wifi

Hard disagree on the Meta Quest 3. The Meta Quest 2 is one of the worst tech products I've ever owned by a long shot and has turned me off of any Meta headset moving forward. I get that Quest 2 isn't a high end headset like a Valve Index, but when the experience is defined by update hell, buggy software that crashes and lags constantly, and a crappy Snapdragon chip that *CLEARLY* can't handle the workloads that are being thrown at the device, then it's just a garbage product. Even my *iPhone* absolutely demolishes the pathetic performance and stability of the Quest 2 and it's obvious that Meta has no idea what on earth it's doing. PSVR has its own issues (for one: who the hell outside of tech reviewers can even get a PS5 without getting on a waitlist?) but it's a VASTLY superior product to any Meta headset, even though it's just a dedicated gaming peripheral. I mean for Christ sake the Quest "Pro" doesn't even have depth sensors, which is what you need for true AR, yet Meta still charges north of a $1000 bucks for the thing. AR/VR will have its place, but it won't be through the subpar lowest-common-denominator products put out by Meta. Beyond this, foldable phones are a cheap gimmick and will always be a cheap gimmick no matter how advanced the OLED screens are. Give me a "boring" iPhone that is actually great vs. a form factor that just screams "look at me!" without actually solving an important problem. Fin.

Quest 3 is dead in the water if the Deckard also gets released this year. Steam VR is the only reason to currently own the quest 2. A headset with better specs and fully integrated with Steam... quest won't stand a chance.

@@DonaldHendleyBklynvexRecords i agree, ive been on vr since google cardboard and mk1 days and have had every headset pretty much. there is no such thing as the "right" headset, it all depends on what you want out of it or the type of content you want to use it for. we all want 8k or 12k vr but the reality is that its going to be many years before we have VR that doesn't FEEL like VR. people think that vr is meant to replicate life, but the reality is that VR is just a form of entertainment. you want "easy" vr, go with playstation but youll miss out on a ton of pc content and mods. you want mid range vr, get a quest 2, but it wont be the best quality. you want a "premium" headset , get an index but will be a more complicated experience if youre not tech savvy.

no one who has pcvr is gonna buy a psvr if they would need to also buy a ps5 so there would be no market share lost in making it work on pc

PSVR2 has a ton going for it, even compared to things like the index and other high-end PC headsets. The adaptive triggers, eye tracking, and even headset rumble are game changers for VR. And at half the price point of equivalent PC headsets or the Quest Pro.
