    Congrats on the W! For new racers, understanding the Categories (and sandbaggers) is helpful. Additionally, how to find a Cat enforced race is beneficial.

    Great tips...especially the warmup, I agree whole heartedly on that one! As for the PU, you should have said you get a new one at all Sprint & KOM arches if they are available in the event (some events don't have them). Congrats on your win, well played. However, don't dump your burrito unless it's a group decision to do so, you want everyone behind you working harder than you in a regular event. It does make sense to dump it in the Fast is Flat series because if the group is moving fast, you are moving fast...it's all about your final time!

    Well done on dumping the bareto, most don't realise it stops you from drafting also. Therefore only any use if you attack on the front where you don't need to draft. Well played on the win. 💪

    Congrats on the win, Tariq! I was the one who used the Ghost PU to make a gap a little over 1k before finish, no coordinated effort with the other guy :-) Since I am not a sprinter and the pack was still big, I concluded that this was one way to improve my chances for best finish. That would be another tip - play to your strengths 😉.

      That was a great use of the ghost power up and well played there. I thought you guys made a coordinated effort there for sure behind the scene lol
      Congrats to you as well on a powerful finish and well executed race 👍

    That was a brave move at the end, but clearly really perfectly-judged and perfectly-timed. Great effort, and congrats on the win! It's good to see you drafting so effectively now. Love it 👍

      Definitely took a few races to get comfortable with drafting and build some confidence that it’s ok to be in the back of the pack. Thanks for watching!

    I did my first race and I did not know you could get you watts way up before the start,looked like a standing start, now I know why I was left in the dust at the start.

    Nice win! I know the burrito won’t do much in a pack like that, but wouldn’t using it be better than just dumping it? At least the people drafting you will have to work a little harder.

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure there are some scenarios where using the burrito would make sense. In this race, I wanted the steamroller because it fit my strategy more and flat terrain of this course. The reason I dumped the burrito because I believe you only get to use one power up. If I used it, I wouldn’t have gotten the steamroller.

      @@SmartBikeTrainers do you actually only get to use one power up in the whole race?

  • @sigfreed11
    @sigfreed11 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    9:11 why trash the power up instead of just using it? Isn’t using it right away basically the same thing as trashing it, except that you get whatever marginal gain from it at the time?

    Great episode and thank you.. Please can you help? I have been promoted to CAT B for racing and completely getting smashed every race.. How can I get back into CAT C because I am not allowed. CAT C which fits me better.. Any advice with be help full.. Thank you Andy.

      @SmartBikeTrainers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congratulations on getting to Cat B. It can be very frustrating at first but I would just keep on trying and eventually you will start placing higher. If you want to get back to a C, I would keep on losing and drop your FTP. Eventually the algorithm will catch up.

    Hi there. when i ran my first race i thought that i would ride with people in my category only, however it was all mixed. i can see my finished position in the companion app but not in the Zwift deskttop. is there a way to check it? is it possible to ride only with people on my category? thanks mate

    • @SmartBikeTrainers
      @SmartBikeTrainers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally most races are category enforced. Is it possible that you signed up for a group ride?
      You can also video your results using Zwiftpower.com. You will need to signup and link your account to be able to see your post race results. Good luck on your next race 👍

    Its seems a Zone 2 ride, you cant name this a race. You shoud be racing on B at least.
