That is such a stupid thing to say, they aren’t comparable size and audience vehicles. Without the Fiesta and Focus (and Mondeo gone) Ford has no cars it can sell or of any interest across Europe so they can’t get smaller EV’s out quick enough to replace Fiesta Focus if they are to survive in Europe at all. And most people simply don’t want an EV especially at extortionate charges.

Sure, it's more expensive, but you seem to think I'm saying this replaces the focus/fiesta in terms of price. I'm not saying that in the slightest. It replaces them in terms of plant capacity. Brands tried making super affordable cars, and sure, you'll sell more of them. But if it's not profitable, selling more of them is actually a bad thing. The more you sell, the more money you lose.

Its length is 4,460 mm (175.6 in) vs. 5,050 mm (198.8 in), USA is almost 2 feet longer. And the Ford Expedition is even bigger! Europe hasn't gone full-on "I'll kill anyone who gets in the way of my 3-ton tank while I get a few bags of groceries" like the USA, though they're heading that way with more and bigger three-row SUVs.
I love how Ford is based out of Dearborn, MI and That city will give you a ticket if you have red or blue ambient lighting inside the cabin. Sorce: I regrettably lived in Dearborn for a while.

What are the power specifications? A 4-wheel drive Explorer is going to need more power. Elon Musk can't build a battery that will handle the demands of the new Cybertruck, so he is switching to a fuel cell stack technology. How will the Explorer compare? The best car battery out there is still the Panasonic 2170 and that is not saying much.

45k for a Ford I’ve owned only Fords all bar 2 cars and if I had 45k to spend on a car it damn sure wouldn’t be a Ford electric suv especially when the f150 lightning is a massive joke because of its battery issues and I have seen some customers of Mach-Es are not happy because of battery issues. Now if I understand correctly it is on a VAG platform so it might not be terrible because of it German parts but it begs the question why pay 45k for a Ford suv when you can get a VAG car that uses the same platform in a hatchback saloon or estate and will likely have a better level of build quality. You know Fords accounts will get involved and save money on things and ruin it anyway
So far other than the Id Buzz I’m not impress at all with the VAG EVs and think this explorer not only looks better externally with its Land Rover looks but internally as well with an infortainmemt system that looks like it actually works. As for the price, all EVs are expensive and when I recently looked at an ID 3 that was nearly £40k for something that is nothing more than a very cheap looking golf then I personally think the explorer is very reasonably priced in todays EV market.
Not terrible because it will have German parts - European Fords are designed at Merkenich Cologne, most are built in Cologne or Saarlouis in the Rhineland. Those assembled in Spain or Romania use parts sourced from Germany. European Fords are already German!

Germany for years I’ve owned mk1/2/3 Mondeo mk5/6 Escort and mk2/3 Focus and it was a observation that because parts are coming from the vag group it might not suck and be awful like the F150 lightning with its battery issues even some Mach E have had issues. More importantly Ford are allegedly not going to be building any hatchback saloon or estate cars in the future in favour of suv and crossover and I don’t need or want that so I will likely move to a Skoda next or something from the Vag group

@@rickerbyct 😂 I am aware that Fords have been designed and built I. Germany for years I’ve owned mk1/2/3 Mondeo mk5/6 Escort and mk2/3 Focus and it was a observation that because parts are coming from the vag group it might not suck and be awful like the F150 lightning with its battery issues even some Mach E have had issues. More importantly Ford are allegedly not going to be building any hatchback saloon or estate cars in the future in favour of suv and crossover and I don’t need or want that so I will likely move to a Skoda next or something from the Vag group
