SEW A FAUX WRAP DRESS | SIMPLICITY S9259 | LEARN TO SEW | SEWING WITH KNIT

Hi friends! Welcome back to the channel! In this video, we are sewing along to Simplicity 9259! This is a Women Pattern with sizes 18W-38W. I made the 22W and I did do one adjustment. I added 1 in along the center back seam 7inches down from the waistline to keep my dress from riding up in the back. I'll show you how I did that in another video!

ALSO, I forgot to add it in the video but me in the purple sweater was filmed one day for about 3 hours and the red sweater was the next day finishing up and that took about 30 minutes. You can definitely sew this under 3.5 hours. Filming just makes everything longer:)

I am thrilled to see this video! I've had this pattern for months and we've just been staring at each other😊. Now I'm ready! Do you sew side seams from the bottom up to prevent stretching? One thing that stuck with me is "stay calm" if you are following instructions and it look a little off stay calm, keep going. Can't tell you how many times I have taken a garment apart because it looked strange only to find out I really was on the right track. Thank you for doing this sew along!

My Brother sewing machine uses #7 Presser Foot of which creates a edging stitch that appears finished much like a serge machine. The #7 Presser Foot is designed with a tiny bar where the sewing needle 'jumps' back and forth so use extra caution that you select the appropriate sewing machine stitch that works excellently with the #7 Presser Foot. Follow the instruction book to be sure. You will love to use this Foot and Stitch. I do. ~ L

Do your stitches not pop on your knit garments? I’ve always constructed them with a serger for the stretch factor.
