Love all the little gears you added for us im new to the fishing community and been going to a reservoir near me for about 2 months and haven’t caught nothing due to me always struggling on knowing when to set the hook, I’ll be stopping at a bait and tackle shop and getting those gears might help out thanks man💯⚡️
Nice custom rod, looks like it has a nice bend all the way through tip to butt, perfect ultra light set up. Ain't nothing wrong with bait n wait, especially when it's windy n cold. Tight lines, happy holidays.
Thanks Gene! No shame in my game! Lol yea it’s a great rod, the action allows for that play you need when pair and wait! Nice bend for sure saw that while editing! Thanks Gene!
@@TroutMadeAnglerCo I just received my order from you. Loving the gear let me know when you stock up on the d.a.r.e. I wanna pick up some stuff for my kid's
Just getting into trout fishing, am I understanding right that the bait basically is suspended (it’s not floating on top of the water, right, because the egg weight is holding the leader down?)
Hey thanks for getting MADE! Awesome you're trying trout out! Yes you are correct, the bait floats (can also use floating plastic baits like worms) and you set the leader length to the desired suspended height from the bottom! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great video! I appreciate your helpful tips. I always use 2# Izorline XXX in clear color and I was wondering why you prefer using smoke color in SoCal lakes? Is smoke harder for trout to see in the stained water than clear line?
Hi Steve! Sorry for the late reply. Email me troutmade@gmail.com for a sticker! I use smoke because I believe overall it reflects less light, LOL I've used both and have got more bites on smoke. It comes down to preference. Appreciate the support!
Hey Juan! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! Yes usually I go straight mono Izzor 2-4 lb braid really helps with sensitivity, but if its not in your hand and you're dead sticking then only line is cool I think! GET MADE!
Hello Mike!! I am going to go trout fishing at Santa Ana River Lakes next week and I just wanted your opinion on the best jigz or best jig kit. Some customs or not. I just need your opinion on the best Company that gets bit the most at Santa Ana River Lakes . If you can please give me your opinion that would be great, Thanks Mike!!!
Sorry for the late reply adrian! email me for a sticker! I use different companies, at the end of the day its preference - they all get bit, thats up to you to GET MADE! I'd try Ultralightheavyweights, they slay there.
Great video Mike! Thanks for all the tips and rigging advice you provide. Really appreciate all the help you provide, and your fantastic positive attitude! Was this shot at Big Bear or somewhere else? Thanks man! 👍🤛
Oh I am using gloves next time when I use power bait. Even when I didn't catch a single trout, my hands would smelled of power baits even after washing my hands.
BANGER VIDEO🔥🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻 What’s up trout made!!! I gotta important question. So how come people use the sliding sinker and the carolina keeper and their hook. Then other anglers use the sinker the bead and the BARREL SWIVEL and then their hook? Do both methods work the same? Is it personal preference? The way you rigged your carolina rig seemed so simple! But then the other carolina rig seems more frustrating and complicated. Are they both called the carolina rig? Please let me know bro thanks 🔥🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻🔥🙌🏻
they work the same but if you use a barrel swivel and want to change the length of the leader you have to cut and re-tie, the keeper can just be slid up and down the line.
Hey Adrian! I've been MIA lately LOL but coming back soon HARD! Get made! Thanks for the assist Fish More! Essentially it is the same, but different! HAHA So with bead and swivel, the bead reduces the impact from the weight on the swivel potentially spooking the trout. That's my logic. The keeper acts as the swivel and bead! Thanks for the support!
….and yet…you don’t pay close attention. Yes I’m using a treble hook….for Powerbait….and most likely 100% I’m keeping a fish when fishing this technique. So no need to worry about my hands or a treble hook if that fish is being harvested. Thanks for watching! GET MADE!
@@TroutMadeAnglerCo then why wear gloves? My six year old fishes with power bait. There is zero skill involved. Dumbed down way to fish. Have a nice day.

Do you tighten the drag after the trout takes it while your reeling?
Yo Savage! It depends, should have the drag set already but sometimes that fish needs it tightened down
Nice catch.
Thanks Norm!

I was thinking about this today. I got to pick up some power bait when I get a chance. What would you say are your most effective flavors?
My vote goes to garlic and cheese. But try a bunch of different colors.
Yea garlic, cheese, nymph! Rainbow garlic also. But yea try em all out! Corn too!

Do you recommend straight fluorocarbon or mono...also

My ultralight rod is rated up to 1/4 oz. will a 1/4 oz sinker be heavier enough for deeper lakes?
Would a regular small hook work too?
Yea sure I don’t see why not 🤷🏻♂️ GET MADE Thanks for watching! 🤙🏼💯
👍 Nice Native RT. Tough to see in the vid but did it have its adipose fin?

What kind of blank did you go with for your custom rod?
I can’t remember what my buddy picked it was a few years ago haha
Stupid question How do you keep the line tight mine always looks dead in the water

is this Lake Cuyamaca?
Not too sure! 🤷🏻♂️ but if you know you know!
Heck yea man . Great content 💯 . I was doing powerbait and I think I was using to much of a big treble hook . No bites while other people where
Yea, most likely. Even with dough bait presentation is key!
Will the Carolina rig be affected if the sinker is too big? Also GREAT video!!!
Not as much, the heavier the weight when the trout picks the bait up will feel the tension and drop it. Light as possible
