Sorry, but James Gunn's DC must fail. And if it fails, no it won't be DC's "Last Hope." In reality, if James Gunn's DC succeeds, it will be the downfall of quality cinema for god knows how long. James Gunn is an extension of the kind of nonsense that's plagued genre films for over 15 years now thanks to the MCU: Taking away all sincerity and turning everything into these cynical hipster joke fests. The original Marvel comic books took themselves much more seriously than what we see in these MCU movies today. It’s disrespectful how they’ve turned beloved characters and stories into parodies of themselves. The Guardians of the Galaxy, in the comics, weren’t this goofy spectacle that Gunn made them out to be. Star-Lord wasn’t some bumbling clown like he appears in those films. Gunn has openly stated that superheroes are “the dumbest things to ever exist.” How can someone like that possibly be considered the right person to adapt any superhero story? Let alone take charge of an entire universe that includes film, TV, animation, etc...?! It honestly feels like I’ve stepped into some strange Twilight Zone where this makes sense. It’s pretty clear that people with those kinds of views that like Gunn's and the MCU's BS haven’t really read any of the original comic books. James Gunn's DC project needs to fail. Not just for DC's sake but for cinema as a whole. I’m fed up with every fantasy, sci-fi, action, or superhero movie being treated like a $200 million parody! I want sincerity back in fantasy filmmaking! James Gunn's DC MUST FAIL!
If this fails, Warner Bros as a company sinks and that’s gonna be crazy… I’ve been thinking a lot about these stuff tho how long do you think superhero films will last like do you think your children will grow up with a different MCU universe ?

James Gunn's Suicide Squad movie was a total disaster at the box office and at streaming. They just are not getting the message.
I find what you're saying odd because GOTG has probably been one of the most sincere movies the MCU has made. Yes, the characters are funny and make jokes, but they're also treated like real people with tragic backstories. Nobody else has made five universally liked comicbook projects in a row.
@@swipe7249 There's nothing sincere about GOTG. Did you not read what I wrote? It's nothing like the comic books. It isn't the goofy spectacle that he made them out to be. Star Lord isn't a bumbling clown like Gunn made him. "Nobody else has made five universally liked comicbook projects in a row." What the hell are you talking about? The only people that like Gunn's movies and MCU movies in general are people that never read the original comic books and/or hate superhero/fantasy movies and want all of them to be parodies of themselves and will attack any superhero movie outside of Batman if they take themselves seriously even though that's how the source material was. Gunn and the MCU constantly disrespect the source material and turn everything into a hipster jokefest. That's not how the original comic books were.
superman DC last hope? not really.. do you think when MCU first start is good?? they dont. but MCU start from 0... meanwhile DCU start from -100 because the mess that snyder have made.
superman requires too much suspension of disbelief at multiple levels, it ends up being too childish and cartoonish (ironic given marvel is considered both, being a lot grittier than DC overall). I honestly think we need a movie equivalent of Supes vs the authority, superhero movies are in a similar stage to the comics when that came out, but I'm afraid the boys and deadpool are already doing the criticism, but in a way more ironic way, even the pacemaker show did the thing at the season finale. In the end every movie has tried to show superman vulnerable in some way, but in reality we need a supes that is invulnerable and can be good and bright because of that
"superman requires too much suspension of disbelief at multiple levels" Comments like this make me think there needs to be a course in the West to teach people how to watch movies or how to be able to enjoy reading/listening to fantasy narratives again. The fact that you think movies should always be documentary-style realism shows that people like you don't understand what the art of film is about. Art in general has the ability to reflect and display images, sounds, and experiences that are not of our world. That includes a lot of fantasy stories and concepts. There is never a limit to what a film can be about. It's largely the West, and specifically Anglo-Saxon culture, that has made people think that fantasy narratives are stupid and have no place in film. This is a moronic idea that needs to be challenged at all costs. Superman does not require "too much suspension of disbelief." What Superman requires is a filmmaker who takes his mythology seriously and is more than willing to give it the gravitas it begs for, as it was in the original source material. Zack Snyder was that person and can still be that person. James Gunn is not and never will be.
@@NormalPerson_12 Nope. You are entirely wrong. Geoff Johns wanted to make the DCEU into an MCU clone. And what happened? The box office tanked. Every single DCEU movie that Zack Snyder wasn't involved in failed at the box office. The first wave of DCEU movies that Zack Snyder was involved in, even in their compromised forms (e.g., Batman V Superman being butchered by a half hour, David Ayer's Suicide Squad being completely mutated into some other movie he didn't make), made more money than the MCU's first phase of movies. After the first Aquaman movie, the DCEU movies that were all trying to be MCU-like failed at the box office. And the DCEU didn't end because it couldn't continue. It's because, for some insane reason, James Gunn was put in charge, and his out-of-control ego made him throw the DCEU away so he could start his MCU-like version of DC. This MCU cynical hipster garbage of taking sincerity out of fantasy filmmaking and turning into $200 million parodies has to end. The box office when Zack Snyder was involved proves there is an audience for sincere cinema in fantasy-based films. And that is why James Gunn's DC cynical hipster universe must fail.

@@owenwestworld WB deserves to fall. What was done to Zack Snyder was beyond dirty. And they won't even allow David Ayer to get his guy of Suicide Squad out there. All these different people in charge for some bizarre reason wanted to turn the DC movies into MCU-like nonsense. And yet, if you look at the box office, DCEU movies made after they screwed over Zack Snyder and wanted to make the DCEU into MCU-like all flopped.
I don’t think it’s his fault for what other MCU movies do since he has no involvement with them
@@swipe7249 There's nothing sincere about GOTG. Did you not read what I wrote? It's nothing like the comic books. It isn't the goofy spectacle that he made them out to be. Star Lord isn't a bumbling clown like Gunn made him.
"Nobody else has made five universally liked comicbook projects in a row."
What the hell are you talking about?
In the end every movie has tried to show superman vulnerable in some way, but in reality we need a supes that is invulnerable and can be good and bright because of that
"superman requires too much suspension of disbelief at multiple levels"
Comments like this make me think there needs to be a course in the West to teach people how to watch movies or how to be able to enjoy reading/listening to fantasy narratives again.
Gunn praised The Flash and it got a decent rating from critics and audience. Get your stuff right
The flash was praised 😂
