Question, what is the best way to grind for weapons? I'm still trying to get some and unsure how best to go about it beyond just playing stuff on maddening. Is there particular missions that do good?
Go to Golden Wildfire, Select the Final chapter of Golden Wildfire and select the attack of the pegasus knights. Farm that a lot with apprasal and despoil to make cash on the side. There's an awakening pot to use as well

That's an easy answer. The Tathlum bow is garbage and the gem is pretty good just not for this build. Could you imagine how much weaker my builds would be if I forced everyone to use their relic?
@@laughingseagull000 Sothis (amongst other end tier spells) teaches abraxas and the other good light spell aura is taught by marinanne. (yes sothis is spoiler but this is end game builds so stop whining). And yeah I personally would give light spells to Mercedes 1 because of her essence of light. 2 because holy knight lowers cool down and the first phase of this build is spamming spells to open up officers. You kinda want spells to be ready often.

I'm noticing you've been using lots of mag-based units or build mag based units and not really using wit strike? Is it a bad idea to give Mercedes an indra at this point? Or is that what Dual Onslaught is for?
You can check with an Indra which gives your more damage, but since Indra's base damage is very low and has one of its two affixes blocked by the witstrike effect, I'm betting you'll get better damage with the normal weapon as long as it's a "A" rank weapon at least. Maybe if you can only get a Brave with good affixed then an Indra might be more worth it and save you a passive slot.
But why Holy Knight and not Bishop ? If you mastered gremory already you'll access a boosted 7 hit combo all the same and you'll be able to use both her relic and her insane magic stat.
Your right. Considering most enemies have lower resilience bishop will do much better overall, at least from where I'm standing. Sol isn't even required with how much sustain you'll have. (Frankly I'm not certain why it's on a holy knight that has essence of light) I suppose holy knight has more movement over bishop, but with proper planing and map awareness that point is pretty moot. Some might also say something about stat differences, but I don't think there is enough of a difference to really justify that argument.
@@christianbecker9971 No it's not moot? Movement speed is by far the biggest factor in term of clear speed. Anyway, I don't understand, why would you ever take Bishop over Gremory? You lose 5 magic, 2 move, 1 dex, 2 speed 3 cha and all that for 2 res. There are more light combos as Bishop sure, but the ones there are in Gremory are just amazing and clear the whole room. Finally all of your offensive spells get buffed when gremory only buff the light spells of which you have none (offensive ones I mean). Bishop does buff your self healing I guess but frankly that's barely needed. To me it's either Holy Knight or Gremory, Bishop isn't even in the running.
@@Arkayjiya I find clear speed to be a non-factor unless you have horrible matchups with no weapon improvement and units under 20. Keeping your units spread out across the map allows for plenty of time to pivot to different quests/enemies that need to be dealt with. And sure, you technically lose stats by picking bishop and if that bothers you, go ahead and pick gremory. But, I don't find the stat differences to be impactful enough to worry about and stat boosters exist if you really want to make up what you are losing. This game relies a lot less on stats when playing on harder difficulties than three houses does where you are required to play pretty optimally if you don't want to pull your hair out, at least on maddening. Next, its pretty easy to learn Aura and Abraxis if you don't have her tome relic and enemies have lower resilience more often than not, so you hit like a truck no matter what spells you use. Furthermore, holy knight doesn't get as much use from Mercedes magic stat unless you use what is a fairly poor weapon in my opinion. Finally, Bishop has the unique special attack that makes it more interesting to play as at least for me. For all these reasons, I can't reasonably pick holy knight over bishop/gremory.

For example you can clear "Chaos in Albany" in 50/55 seconds with pretty much any character but if you want to be sub 45 seconds then you need some sort of movement speed buff. Try to do that with a Bishop with no particular movement buff and you'll never reach the efficiency of a faster class. Hell you'll probably struggle with the 55 seconds with how slow the movement is even when compared to a medium speed class like Gremory (let alone Holy Knight). As far as the stats goes, that's also not how it works. The stats from being in a certain class are added to your character class and can even go beyond the maximum stats. So you can use any stat boost you want, Gremory will always have better magic, dex and speed than Bishop. It's not a huge factor, it's just another way in whigh Gremory is superior to Bishop. As to spell, it's sadly not super easy to learn Aura. As far as I can tell Marianne the only unit in the game that can teach Aura and Mercedes only has C-Support with her which makes it a pain to learn. Same for Abraxas which unless I'm mistaken can only come from Sothis so both have a 0.4% chance of learning which is a huge pain. Regardless yes it is technically possible but if you like those spells then once again Gremory straight up outclasses Bishop. And finally Mercedes gets none of the usual main 5 optional damage boosts but she does get Dual Onslaught which boost her physical attacks way more than her magical ones. On top of that if you do try to test it, while enemy's res is much lower than enemy's def in average (which means that spells are as a rule stronger than combat arts) physical attacks' base damage is higher than magical ones by around 100% (physical attacks are twice as strong as magical ones!) so against most enemies in the game attack combos from Holy Knight are just as good as combos from Gremory between that and dual onslaught even if holy knight isn't boosted by magic staff's 20% buff. If you are playing against very high level and heavily armored opponents like in the Paralogue "Eagles, Lions and Deers" in Maddening, then Gremory absolutely out-damage Holy Knight though, that's for sure. I do think Gremory is the best class overall for Mercedes. Bishop though, I don't think the advantage against very armored high level opponent compensate for the slowness and vulnerability of the class, especially since Bishop's only advantage over Gremory would be a bit more self-healing, but when it comes to sustain and self-healing Holy Knight is just infinitely stronger than Bishop (and Gremory of course). Holy Knight can heal their entire health bar in a second by attacking with every single combo. Neither Bishop nor Gremory can do that, Holy Knight's sustain is ten times as good as that of those classes. I think that's the main reason you'd choose Holy Knight over Gremory, the insanity of its sustain, the ability to have your health play yo-yo and never worry about it. It's super fun (but of course it's not particularly optimal if you care about S-ranking stuff since not taking damage is important). Finally, as far as class actions goes, both Bishop and Holy Knight class actions are very mediocre. Gremory's class action is pretty great though. So yeah overall I agree with you at least on Gremory. I think it's the better class for Mercedes. But Holy Knight at least has a super fun niche as an unkillable knight with super high movement speed.

Indra has a time and place, but this isn't it. Also for the record, I use Witstrike all the time, some mages need it, others don't.
