Hey, I’ve mostly been casually watching this series, and not commenting much. But It’s amazing seeing this channel’s community grow. I didn’t know how much of your content I watched until I realized it’s only been 1 year. Daaamn.
Dude i love this series so much that I annually watch your World and Rise (including expansions) compilations. Great job on them. I'll be doing the same with your MHGU version. Base Generations was my 1st MH game.
Thank you YT algorithm for leading me to your channel and cheers to the community for helping you become a Master Hunter. It's been a wild experience watching someone starting off as an inexperience hunter to someone who can proudly stand with the other masters and maybe one day show the next generation the ropes. Best wishes.
@@HeyJayOfficial I feel like you might enjoy the insect glaive... it's similar to swaxe in that it's fast (ok, swaxe may not be fast but it's not the slowest), it's got a lot of reach, and it's reliant on dodging. I think it might be fun to play the rise version for sunbreak; the rise version is my favorite after playing it, gu and 4u
I can't believe it's been a year! I've been lurking the whole time and only in the past few months or so got more active in the twitch stream chats. Listening back again now, it's funny hearing you say again how you found the insect glaive so complex and then fell in love with SwAxe. I just love how MH does that. I learned IG as my first main in 4U after trying a few other weapons, but am now maining SwAxe as a second main in Rise. I'm loving Rise's SwAxe so much it's hard to go back to IG at the moment lol
just started the video and im already laughing my ass off at how he wants to avoid heavy weapons for being sluggish, but wants to try greatsword. the actual most sluggish weapon in the entire game.
I found you relatively recently through your MH3U journal, and despite not being super into World, got me really into your World journal just because I love how thorough, unique and personal your documentation of your playthroughs are. I don’t want you getting burnout on us, so take your time, but I can only imagine how brilliant a MH4U journal would be. Keep it up man, cheers for what are in my opinion some of the best MH videos on this site
Just discovered your channel. Watched the MH4U journal and this one. I love this format! Glad you've had such a blast getting into this series and community. I'll have to catch a stream sometime. Since you like technical weapons like Switch Axe and Charge Blade, you really should consider Hunting Horn when MHWilds comes out!
That's crazy to think I started your journey alongside you (as I was curious about Rise and that's how I found your page, and was SO keen to have you try MHW). Well done :)
i see a 3 hour video and im like "oh im looking forward to watching this never heard of this content creator" "good start to 2021"... wait hold up how old is this ? *uploaded may 2022* *sees theres a 4 hour iceborne supercut and theres a bunch of other monster hunter content on his channel* hmm something tells me he ends up enjoying world lol
Wow, this is pretty cool. Just came across this in my recommendations, it's kinda entertaining seeing a new person try out the series. Checked out your channel and I see that you kept up with MH, so that's cool that you turned into a fan, so I guess my comments would be more for anyone reading this that might be checking it out to see if the series is for them. What you mentioned hearing people describe the game how "You don't like it, until you like it," that is so true. That's also tied into the fact that the first 2-3 hours of any Monster Hunter game are the worst part of the game. They just throw so much information at you, and the game consists of so many legacy systems built upon legacy systems. You get the terrible combination of typical boring early game quests in most games along with almost a sense of analysis paralysis where there's just so much to take in, you don't even know where to start. So why bother playing? Because once you get past it, the core gameplay loop of the game is just so fun. It's a game I didn't even know I necessarily wanted, but now that I'm a fan, I totally get why it got so popular in Japan and now the world. The game is just basically all the cool boss fights of other games, but it just focuses on just that. No filler, no braindead mobs to go through, no platforming, no on-rails section, it's just cool boss fight after cool boss fight. And the fights are difficult enough where it always feels like you can learn and perform better, but fair enough where you can feel your progress as you get better. And I guess the last "hang up" some people have about the series is how "slow" the game feels. That one just might come down to tastes, and if you're the type of player that doesn't like it, then you don't like it, it's okay. But yeah, this is not God of War or Devil May Cry, Dynasty Warriors, etc. The built in delay where when you press a button, the action doesn't come out instantly frame zero, that's purposeful. Some might call it slow, but I prefer to think of it as deliberate. The point is that you can't just start spamming attacks, button mashing, and beat this game. You really have to think through every single attack, whether it's worth the risk to commit to it or it's better to pull back. Again, it's not for everyone, but sometimes it's just a matter of expectations. I think some people might see the weapons, the 3rd person camera, a name like Monster Hunter, and expect the game to play something like a Devil May Cry action game, and when it doesn't, they get angry and think the game is bad. But if you go into it thinking that this game is its own thing (or a decent comparison is a Dark Souls game), then I think players can find a lot of enjoyment in the series.
Do you know where I can find the elden ring stream? I missed out on it and want to go back and watch. Just platinum-ed the game myself and its flat out the best. Also, dont forget to check out GoW 2018 as GoW Ragnarok is releasing soon!

"The one that turns into an ax and stuff. I want to eventually play that..."
Don't worry past-Jay. You will. You will play it A LOT.
I myself never got into switchaxe, I played everything minus the ranged weapons, the gunlance an the swithcaxe and I don't really know why.
It’s so crazy to think this all started a year ago.
This is perfect, appreciating an easy way to watch through all of this again someday!
A trip down memory lane heyjay glad to have you as a part of the community
Glad to be a part of it
a full year and you've already played more Monster Hunter games than I have! This was awesome to see!
YAYYYY! I’ve been thinking for rewatching the world journals and then you bless us with this. Classy would be proud!

I rewatched all the journals a while ago and favorite recurring parts were where you whenever you talked about playing, learning and loving the swaxe
They’re special memories, I def need to learn a new weapon to relive that 🥲

Nice way to rewatch the whole World journey. Thanks Jay
You’re welcome ☺️
ty for uploading 3 hours of it, this is still so much fun to watch!
Thank you 😊

How did you know I'm revisiting world and watching your content again? xDD
Oh good! A movie to listen to as I do some grinding in Rise 🔥
The Diablos part will always be one of my favourites!
This gives me goosebumps. See you in Sunbreak!
I wish I were there for it all, I have so much I wanted to say during many of the journal entries
The editor slowly making himself more confortable roasting jay in the edits every single passing video is encouraging.
Editor wasn't real at that point. Jay was roasting himself. The iceborne supercut will probably have a slight descent into lack of respect.
Spoilers!
OH BOY I WONDER IF HE FINISHED ICEBORNE?!….I CAN CONFIRM HE DOES! TIME TO BINGE THAT ONE NOW
so proud of You 🎉
the video slowly desyncs btw, i noticed it first at like 2 hours 30 mins
I found your channel at the very beginning of MH World! I happened to be getting back in and got hit with algorithm
HELL YEAHHHHH
so proud
There's just something satisfying about watching a young chick grow up into a mighty hunter.
Oh cool! I was wondering of you had a playlist for all of the MH videos but this should do juuuuust fine. 🍻🍻
I'll definitely have to find a day off to watch this one. Came a long way from the days where Diablos walked all over you
we've come a long way
Classy Idea, thanks!
Well I know how most of the rest of my shift is going to go today!
