hi jay! Im a subscriber from spain who loves watching your monster hunter journals, specially the 3U ones because it brings me back memorys playing it in my 3DS when I had like 10 years old. I just wanted to say that all your journals are so good, entretaining and cool edited. I love the fact that you take all of those notes while playing and read it and make a video essay about the process you are going through in that moment. It is cool you even mention how it feels doing small things like moving around or saving items in the box. I love how stuff like that are meticulously analysed, it is so satisfying that I feel like watching a surgeon roleplay ASMR video noticing these kind of little stuff. It makes me want to complete my old Monster Hunter 3U journey or start a new one to see how it feels compared to how I felt 10 years ago. Anyways, love for you and for the monster hunter community, keep it classy!
Monster Hunter Tri and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is my favorite Monster Hunter games the gameplay and immersion is top notch and the water swimming adds to the immersion of hunting a sea monster
got this reminds me of the time back then.... march 22nd 2013... the day this game came into my loving hands sadly i had to solo the entire game but god damn what an experience it was going through the entire game solo and beating it wish i could go back to those times and beat it again and enjoy those monsters for the first time again ^^
I totally agree. I had to solo the game too and still remember the countless tries I needed for some of the road blocks and the feeling after beating them. The monsters are all amazing and I miss some of them. Also how could capcom take "So tasty" from us 😢
Man i feel as though we really lost something in the old world. I'd wish they ported like an old world collection to steam. Gave us a few servers. The dream.
@@patyos2 yeah but it's on the switch. Never found myself actually commiting to long play sessions on that. And also mine is banned. And also youd have to pay for multiplayer.
MH3U is my favorite Monster Hunter game. I love everything about it, and watching your journey through it was awesome. I had to go thru the entire game solo because I played MH3U on a Wii U emulator and it wasn't built for multiplayer so all the grinding and farming and question was solo and it was pain at a lot of points but so rewarding at others. I will say that farming big monsties like Goldbeard and Alatreon stuff was VERY pain, but I never stopped. Currently, I need a Rathalos Mantle to finish a new armor set, and Im nearing 40 Rathalos and Azure Rathalos kills/captures which is borderline ridiculous but hey, thats MH for ya. I totally relate to your Brachydios Gem grind because back in high rank, I wanted Rathian Armor and the waist needed a ruby from Rathian and I kid you not, it took 70 kills to get the damn thing. Im feeling the same with this Rathalos Mantle now but hopefully it doesn't take as long -_- Anyways, good video 7 months later, Im happy you enjoyed this wonderful game
I just found my old copy in my 2ds and I still absolutely love it, it has a terrible white washed quality but i got my rose tinted glasses on and its beautiful, my hands still have all the muscle memory of attacking and turning the camera with same hand that I did when I was 14 soloing the whole game
Listened to the first hour and a half while clearing out village quests for Alatreon. At least I get rank points from village quests. My pledge is fighting every unique monster/subspecies in the game. Aka, they only exist in 3U and do not appear in World or Rise. That last rule originally included Lucent, but that was before the Rise update, which I’m glad I made.
I play 3U atm i never finished it 😅 so i do now. Im already trough village but the hardest part is in front of me. I really miss the quality of live stuff in GU and rise
Of course it's uglier than you were expecting if you based yourself off of/come from World/Rise... 😭I personaly don't find it ugly at all, it's fine (maybe not as pretty as I saw it when I first played the game but not as ugly as you think it is) but I'm probably biased since it was my first MH game. At the time, it was incredible. And if not everything else, the monsters are still looking quite good as well as the cinematic. That is, again, if you don't unfairly compare the game to NEWER games.
What´s kinda weird about 3U is that they give you stat boosts essentially equivalent to the defender armor in world that, as far as i know, you cant turn off. So early fights should feel super easy to survive. Dunno if you mention this or not im only 25 minutes in. loving the video so far though.
Honestly I don't even know how you're supposed to pronounce Lagiacrus. I initially pronounced it like you are in the video, but then I heard ProJared pronounce it as "luh-jee-uh-cruss" and I've just gone with that, since Also I love the idea of taking notes on games you're playing. I think I'm going to start doing that, too, just in general. I remember writing stuff down for Riven being a lot of fun
Honestly I don't mind the grind a lot, having to kill the same monster 10 times in a row is time consuming but that's also what I signed up for when I downloaded the game, hunting monsters is fun atleast. Gathering on the other hand is just a waste of time, it's slow and boring and I think it's about time that this system gets an overhaul because god is it a pain in the ass (and yes, gathering sucks even in world...)
Gathering is half the game lol. I liked Rise the least because it was basicly a pure grind of hunt after hunt after hunt. No slowing down or preparing for a hard fight by being smart and preparing corectly. A reason why i liked Altreon in World it was the first hunt where you have to put thought into your loadout and items you have to take with you. But im just a Dinosaur who started with MH freedom unite and tri. 😅Iv'e been recently playing MH Dos and it's the Dark Souls of the series it's brutal. You need to gather during Quests or you will run out of supplies asap. You get locked out of quests and items depending on the season or time of day. During warm season you can gather honey but you can't go to the dessert for example.I think World beautifully streamlined the gathering, walk by it grab it done. No crouching down and spaming buttons like in the old games.

I don't understand the Rise lovers honestly. I defeated every monster in Sunbreak played 200 hours forced myself to get to the risen elders and all i can say after Rise is meh. It was ok. Far too easy too little variety between weapons you basically barely needed mega potions anomalys were so boring to grind. Augmentation was fine for the armor for the weapons it felt stale. Wirebugs were again , ok , nothing to write home about. I'd give the game maybe a generous 5-6/10 compared to other MH games (old and new) and a 8/10 compared to all games. Since new games are terrible these days and Rise was not terrible.
Completely the opposite for me. I've put a lot of time into a number of MH games and Rise blew me away. My new favourite by a large margin. Having played several too, it's really not that easy. They just actually do a good job of giving you a fighting chance with tutorials and QoL, plus all skill from previous games carries over.

buddy, you need to stop trying to play greatsword in any monster hunter game, you complain nonstop about clunky slow weapons.....its the slowest weapon in the series...you will never like it if you dont like slow and clunky.

Watching your videos made me dig up my old crappy 3DS and get this game for it! 😊 My favorite Monster Hunter by far!

this game truly first came out on the Wii with MH tri! the ds version is the upgraded version!

I've played GU and 3U right after I was done with Iceborne (my firsrt game)
I really dig the look of older MH games, they are very cozy and charming
