Thank you :) - She is indeed the main event. I'm just lucky to be here lol. I prefer my reaction presentation this way as well - unless youtube starts complicating the formatting.
Yes, yes! I'm sure people mean well when they make the Amy Winehouse comparison, but it's a bit lazy, and probably more accurate to say that they both share many of the same influences. It's actually a very heavy comparison to put on any singer, given Amy's tragically short life and difficult career. In any case Raye is very much her own artist and shouldn't stand in anyone else's shadow. Two things in particular I would highlight about Raye are, first, she loves to perform live, always looks incredibly happy to be on stage with her musicians, and always wants to give to the audience to the best of her abilities. I'm sure we can all remember sad occasions when Amy looked like she would rather be anywhere other than the stage on which she was standing, terrified and struggling to sing. Second, although she writes and sings about some very painful personal experiences, Raye's underlying message is one of survival, resilience and self-affirmation, compared to the tone of bleak tragedy that permeated much of Amy's work. So they are really very different artistic personalities.
This was the opening song at the live concert with an audience of about 4-5k fans which she did for the purpose of a live recording of her album "My 21st Century Blues", the orchestral version is called "My 21st Century Symphony" and it is completely awesome from start to end. You can listen to it on Spotify or here on TH-cam, but only a few songs have video, the rest is audio only. There are some fan recordings, but unfortunately these are of rather poor quality... But luckily Raye has so many great performances captured on video with good audio as well, live, TV appearances, acoustic versions etc., you will not run out of great material to react to anytime soon, and RAYE is only about to begin seriously... Her recent live performance at SNL was epic, she did "Escapism" and in the second set a medley of "Worth It" (full) amn "Genesis" (parts ii and iii, shortened). Can't wait for more reactions to RAYE, peace and love from Bavaria!
Hi! Could you react to Ellie Goulding - Dead In The Water (Live At The Royal Albert Hall) please it was uploaded onto her channel just yesterday 😁 It’s in the same venue as this performance and also has a live orchestra. Ty 🙏
Raye is phenomenal … Jazz * R&B * Storytelling Hip Hop ❤Eclectic range … There is no other without a doubt… ❤
It was a one night only performance of her Album My 21st Century Blues but the symphony version she released after the original album version
I like how the main screen of your reaction presentation is the artist’s performance, with your reaction as a circled sub screen.
