Instead, most bands make money from live performances and merchandise. But Covid cancelled concert tours in 2020, and when it became clear 2021 was going to be a repeat, Hybe decided they would rather move on with Le Sserafim in 2022 than pay GFriend to sit out another year. On their end, GFriend felt neglected by Hybe, which I believe could have been settled on the Source Music side. But that's a longer story.

Loving your reaction as always and watching you fall in love with GFriend is such a pleasure. You are doing well with recognising the faces of the members despite them being so young here. Yuju keeps shining to you as she is the main vocal whilst Eunha has the assistant role as lead vocal. SinB is main dancer which is why she always shines in a dance practice. Yerin who you remember being blonde in the Apple video is lead dancer behind SinB. She is a very mischievous person always getting in trouble from their leader Sowon, the very tall one and like a model. Umji was never given a role other than maknae and had few lines given to her along with Sowon and both were often placed on the edges of the choreography as a result. Sowon complained to the company about this in the past and it affected her confidence. Umji also suffered badly too in the past until she became more confident as she got older.

Honestly speaking, GFriend was very lucky debuting at the time. They debuted months after Jessica was kicked out of Girls Generation and SinB looked remarkably like her older sister, very strong stricking features, and the high kick choreography is reminiscent of that group. It did spark a fuss with their fandom but it did gave them notice which is a good thing. This was also when Umji was targeted visually, but not that hype. After that, Me Gustas Tu got people noticing how in sync they are. They got more attention when SinB and Yuju keep falling on a wet stage and Yuju fell really hard at times but she kept performing. It gave them a spot in the top girl groups when Rough was released. It ultimately holds them a spot in the tier list. It was pure. It made Koreans love them and the amount of Yuju singing in every final chorus just made it more memorable. They are six different girls but dance so in sync, the electric tui tar and the school girl concept was the defining moment that makes people know GFriend. Even the running moment, they were doing it before Loona. I’m just saying if you debuted right now without a differentiating factor, you’ll fade in the background. So, in a way, they were very lucky debuting at that time. Source Music got noticed because of the girls but the payback of letting them go is a disgrace. It was a business move from a third party (probably) but the company should fought for them. They work hard for themselves and the company. One thing that i can describe GFriend is their professionalism. So mature and willing to make their mark coming from a small company. Non of them are minors which is refreshing. Translated from Korean, the song is called - From today We Are (from today we can talk about us as a single whole). Me Gustas Tu from Spanish - I Like You. Like most GFriend songs, the lyrics can be seen as both friendship and love relationships. The theme of the video is summer vacation of school girlfriends: with various games, ice cream, watermelon, scary stories and more. Yuju has a protective bondage on her knee - because she does the splits on this knee at the beginning of the choreography. She also take both high notes in this song (she is the main vocal in the group), she also doing Pole Dance in Mago. PS in 2018 (about 3 years later), a Japanese version of the MV was released with a completely different video sequence.

I think you can hardly count how many times during the choreography they changed formation (this is one of the main features GFriend choreographies) and still did not lose synchronization. Another distinctive feature GFriend choreographies is lining up and diagonal. The song became widely known in Korea and turned into a kind of anthem - the construction of a new beginning. I share your love of a GFriend dance practice as I never get tired of watching them.
