I'm here ❤
Part of History

I remember it like it was yesterday. Sept. 11th is my daughter's birthday. And my oldest granddaughter was born three days later.
Good job Alan.

@HB stay salty, stay dangerous...🇺🇸💪🏴
22 years still tear up after I hear it
Those fireman that ran up the stairs knowing they probably wouldn't be coming back are the definition of tough. Thats what courage looks like!
Amen! More of a hero than I will ever be. God Bless, them. They are (were) what our Nation is!
Greater love have no man, than to lay down his life for his brother
The police and military, and civilians too!
I donated blood. I was 85 pounds. Not a mother. I want allowed to go. But God damn did I give ever ounce of blood that I was allowed to.
My ídol wonderful Voice Alan Jackson ❤❤🙏🙏

THE HAIRS ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD STAND UP. I AM THE OF 7 SONS .
I feel the same way, and this video of the first performance, seeing the look on Alan's face and knowing the song comes straight from his heart, just add so that feeling.
I know exactly what you mean. And with tomorrow being 9/11, I had to look it up and listen to it a time or two.
Today being 9/11 I went on TH-cam to most definitely to listen to this song.

It takes a special songwriter to encapsulate all the feelings and emotions that we were all experiencing during those days and Alan Jackson nailed it.

I heard Alan Jackson say once that he didn’t write this song. God did.
No body could have told this story, better than Alan. Love it. ❤️
Hello how are you doing today?
Love you Alan Jackson !!!!!!
Yes...nobody! Alan Jackson is special...
When I hear this song it breaks my heart, I was close enough to see the 2nd one hit his voice says it all.
ALAN JACKSON WROTE AND SINGS THIS MUSIC WITH ALL HIS HEART!
I was cleaning in the rental office waiting room. the TV was on. Large screen TV I stopped the vacuum when I saw smoke coming from the tower. I turned up the sound. My heart sunk. I walked to the office and said come and see this, it's important. I was listening to the astonishment the grief in the newsmen's words. I watched as the second plane hit. I watched during my lunch break and started to cry as the towers began to collapse. I will never forget. I excused myself to make an important call to find out where a pilot I knew was that day. They answered he is fine. That was a huge relief. But I was still in shock for the audacity of it, the loss of life, the scale of the attack. I will never forget how I felt that day.
Here in the city where I went to school the staff of a Lutheran church next door to a Mosque stood around it to protect it from hate crimes because news was saying that terrorists from the Middle East had attacked the towers. It was just hearsay. Christians stood around the Mosque to protect the peaceful Muslims inside. This is America. We take care of each other. People who have faith should live it. They did. They still do.
A van full of a restaurant baseball team was coming back from a game on the east coast when they heard the news on the radio. They turned around and drove to ground zero as fast they could to provide food for the survivors and first responders. I was so proud to work for them.
Those are my 9/11 stories. Thanks for asking. One of the things I love about country music, its the I love my country theme, the songs that are national anthems. This is one of the best.
To hear this song some 22 years later it still brings tears to my eyes . Thank you Alan Jackson . This song could only be preformed by Alan Jackson .

You can hear in his voice how difficult this was to perform. Usually such a strong and steady tone, but you can hear him quiver trying to get through. So raw and emotional.

Good job on that song Alan . Today is Saturday 9/11
@douglaslintz You all are the damn best. I'm honored to have the kind of support that you show me, thank you. How are you doing it is nice meeting you here btw
What a song sung by one of the best country singers. Captured all the feeling in one.
And by one of the best song writers
Dear lord, please watch over Alan and his Family. Touch him lord and heal his sickness. We need not lose two great country singers. Losing Toby was hard enough. Please heal Alan
I was a senior in HS when 9/11 happened. I remember when this song came out and the impact it had on everyone. 20 years later it still has an impact. Hard to believe that the events of that morning would change the lives of so many and set our lives on such unbelievable paths. I served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a result of that day.
My son had been in the Army since 1990 right after graduation. He had just discharged when this all happened. He immediately re enlisted, only in National Guard. He stayed until after hitting a road bomb and ending up with Combat Related Familial ALS. Still a Staff Sgt the day he passed. We knew so many men AND women who quickly and quietly went to their local recruiters. I honestly wish it didn't take such a big catastrophe to hold this country together in pride and the love thy neighbor we had following 9/11.
Thank you for service.
JB84 - God bless you for your service.
Jb84 thank you for your service! And yes this changed our country forever. Because many people were not around for Pearl Harbor and being attacked on our soil is quite an eye opener. This wonderful song says it all
Thank you for your sacrifice
This mans ability to sing songs so emotional with absolute perfection amazes me. He stopped loving her today is another example. Alan Jackson, you too sir are a hero!
And remember when
George Jones
Soooo, the guy singing about an event where REAL HEREOS ran into a towering inferno to save others is a "hero"??
Yes, he has a ton of talent and really hits the spot with this song but come on now!!!!
The term "hero" gets thrown around way to much!!!!

I listen to this song every September 11th since that terrible day in 2001. The shock and horror of the burning towers and the lives lost was unimaginable that day. This beautiful song is a reminder that we should never ever forget the heroes we lost that day.
Hello, Julie Peterson how are you doing today.
That's listening to the song by Darrell Worley "Do you Remember". I listen to this song as well

Thank you Alan . We will always love you ❤
This one of the few songs that will make me tear up.
I was born after the event, so I never knew firsthand what it felt like. But this song is as close to conveying the horror and grief of witnessing it as anything I’ve encountered. It is gorgeous, but heart wrenching.
I am from Romania, but I remember very well 9-11. It was exactly like this... the world stopped turning, the whole world was in shock.
I remember watching the towers fall on the news live with my family and though I was young and didn't fully understand I remember a overwhelming shock like it didn't seem real and then sadness as the reports came in of the victims and their families 😢 it was the only time since I've been alive that I can remember the entire going through the grief process at the same time and very quickly landing on anger. I live no where near New York though
