Thanks Raul and Malik! I did my best while trying to keep that camera still:) if Spence is bringing his all for us on the track, then the least i can do is put my all into cheering him on;)
Not gonna lie, I wasn’t expecting a PR. But watching you go into those last two laps, my heart started racing. Even though the video title said you got the win, I was still nervous.
Dude, this video made my day. I've been watching your channel for awhile, and I'm not a runner myself- but watching you accel at what you care about and seeing improvement is fucking awesome. Congrats!
I think all the fans are so stoked that you won. Really enjoying seeing you succeed. Be the best that you can be is what we all aim for and youbare very inspirational.
A PR as a season opener is not that bad at all ! Congrats on that ;) Of course you can run faster at your next race because you made e really steady impression during the race and could kick well on the last 400m. Finding a faster and less tactical race is definitely going to provide you some assistance for a PR attempt, but I do not think that you rely on having someone else taking the lead and making the race for you. You have the physical tools to do this on your own and your mindset has changed. You are a different person than before and you should really be able to set up your own race in two weeks.
Spence, you’re very humble. You’re trying not to boast about the time you ran, when bro that time won you a race. It’s good to be humble. But, internally enjoy this one brotha.. glad to see things working out!
Good run, Spencer! Shows everyone that if you keep plugging away progress can be made! Setbacks are merely temporary halts on the road forward. Sound tactical effort, loads more to come. Thanks for all the honest videos over the last couple of years, shows your younger viewers that running ain't always easy or painless but there are rewards for keeping going!
I watched the race on Flotrack livestream and Cam's footage is so much better! I am not sure who I am more proud of, "The Athlete Special," or "The Dadlete Special! " You are a winning team! And as always, great to see Larkin again! Bring on the merch!
Hey Spenc: been following your journey, and so very happy for you. Great that you and your dad are doing the Seb/Peter Coe thing! I'm a 60 year old track runner, and like you have had a succession of injuries over the past few years. My best 400 is 63.84, and best 200 is 27.42. Your journey keeps me going thru the downs. All the best! WallyH
Camron Dioun is the name of a boston area high school runner who graduated in 2021. He was about a 16 flat 5k runner and then he ran 2 months of 100 mile weeks over the summer and proclaimed "All States is my race to lose". Unfortunately he got a stress fracture in his femur so we never got to see the king claim his crown. I'm pretty certain this is the right Camron Dioun- If you're reading this, Camron, you are the people's champ.
Someone did his homework😉 current mileage: 78mpw big things: coming people doubt I was in sub 14:30 shape before the fracture, but what else can you deduce from 7x1k at 2:54 with 600 jog? 2nd fastest in the state ran 14:48
Ribich just ran 8:00 this weekend with a 1:40 last 600m vs your 8:07 with a 1:32 last 600 and he’s more of a 5k guy than you. This just shows that you are on the right track. Maybe he had a bad race but still looking at where you were compared to him last year at this time. You’re gonna be a contender this year in the 1500, just keep trusting Keith!
Dude this was super inspiring. I was in the middle of a tough treadmill workout when watching this and somehow the shared suffering made it easier. Kudos on the W!
Saw this coming based on your workouts. Nice job! As my college coach would always say, "Run for fun and personal bests!" Looks like you accomplished both.
I remember running on the wooden velodrome in the Armory at Boston University in the 1980s. It was dark and smoky from the starters pistol and dust. There was a Mac Donalds across the street. 🙂
Huge congrats on the race Spence! Really proved my prediction from a couple videos ago wrong (8:17) and I'm really happy for ya and what's to come this season!
Well done Spencer! Congrats on the W... Question: did you plan and execute race tactics? Seems like, for this race, your plan was to kick at 400 and to be in touch with leaders until then. I'm probably wrong, but am interested in what the race plan was.
Looked great Spence nice and strong throughout really great to see - does your dad have any pull at Michigan I think they have been having some fast meets there as well - and that new facility looks amazing. Keep on the grind man
Nice going Spencer. Your confidence grew as the race progressed- and mentally you'll be in such a better place next time out. Great start to the season...
Spencer you rock! So happy for you. Great race and cant wait to see how this summer goes. This positive attitude will carry you far!... well that and hard work and coaching from your dad. :)
Hell of a job brotha! Agree with your father, first time you looked comfortable and in control in a long time! Probably since that CC race you took 2nd or 3rd in….stay the course, it’s a process as you know.
Hey Spence great job today! I have a question. Will you ever consider doing another altitude stint? I know some runners respond better than others and I heard it’s best to do it if you’ve already been consistently training well prior, could you see yourself potentially doing it again at some point? Thanks for the channel it’s great to see you finding your groove again!
Hell yea Spencer. Hell yea.
Hell yea,
Let’s go
Ttp
You should make a video of this race!
@@diniaadil6154 no, no he should not
