Fun fact for art history lovers: Very in reference to Yoko Ono's Cut Piece - a performance art piece where she sat still on a stage and viewers of the art could walk up and cut a piece of her clothing using Yoko's own scissors.
And then take it away with them.

This music video is extremely powerful. To me it's my inner woman spirit and all the pain I went through. Throwing up I was shamed sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by different men almost murdered but I still managed to work through my trauma stay strong and stay true to myself to me this music video represents all the people coming and taking bits and pieces of her but in the end she stands firm tall true to herself and unfazed but stronger. Choosing not to be miserable and still find joy. You can do whatever you want I'll do whatever I like

Idk if the angling was intentional but the scene at 2:04 was poignant for me. The people are walking in front of her menacingly with the open scissors, almost as if stalking prey trying to decide where they'll "attack" next, the expectant blades, whether intentional or not, are ironically hung around their groins and resemble male members. I just found that interesting and wanted to share my observation.
i just watched and listened to this and i literally loved it so much. ashe never misses with her music, it's all so innovative and just incredible overall. we love you!!
