The match became very quiet after icewave lost its spinner
And boring...
That's because subzero lost usefulness of the flipper. Most matches become boring after both bots lose their weapons!

Damn I love spinner bots. Took a huge chunk out of SubZero's side armor. This is what robot fighting should be, not wedges pushing each other around the arena.
They should have there own league. Tombstone would dominate it.

same opinion, those pushing bots are mostly just lame, although it's always boring for me if there's no destruction at all. So it's not only but mainly the pushing bots.
Don't get a Spinner Bot's title confuse with a Vertical Spinner Blade Bot's title. Spinner bots are those up-side-down blows that spin around and kill selves when they hit their opponent. But anyway, Yea. Just thought I'd say it.

I love Icewave... and I especially love the sound that it makes, please never lose the combustion engine!
icewave was BRUTAL against subzero. even without its spinner it was not giving up and that hammer absolutely destroyed subzero.
Well Subzero had the right idea but their internals clearly didn't survive first contact, if they did and they could pin Icewave it would have been all over.
Then again I prefer Icewave going forward just for the carnage.

according to the rules you can't pin a bot and have it counted out you would have to release afer 10 seconds or something. you would have to render the opponent unable to move or stick it on top of one of the hazards in a way it couldn't get down.

Interesting fact about SubZero, when it was still a middleweight it beat: Icewave's, Tombstone's, and Bite Force's teams.

Sub-Zero durability it's freaking incredible. The held out hits from the toughest of every season and still functioning. I don't know how it can survive its fight against HUGE.
Ice Wave really needs to add some shock absorption into their weaponry like Son of Whyachi

Is SubZero trolling? I don't even think they tried to put up a fight. IceWave simply turned off the blade and won by running at them. What was that lol.
They did but Icewave is a strong bot. The impacts take its toll on Icewave's internal combustion engine that powers the weapon and it can either stall or start smoking.

think the UK robot wars should go against the USA battle bots see who's robots are the best
if they can get compatible weight limits and similar rules

Spinners aren't very popular in the UK, at least from what I remember. I think the advantage would be in the USA's favor.
Tombstone would tear through Carbide, and Bite Force could beat Apollo. Don't even get me started on Minotaur.
I haven't seen the UK version but replace Biteforce with Bronco. Last season's primary weapon rule hurt it badly. and the ladybug needs a redesign.
heirofaniu because UK roboteers managed to engineer ultra-durable fullbody-wedge flippers, which take like 0 damage from spinners. That, and the fact that the pit makes pushing enough to win
I didn't even know Icewave had a combustion engine for its weapon, normally you hear a spinner weapon only by the electrical whirring and humming from the air...

@@Lampe2020 you know i.c.e. stands from internal combustion engine that’s 15 hp. it’s sad the design is rly outdated now (mostly bc they lowered the max tip speed) but it sure was fun to see obliterate bots early on in the show
several videos in, and still loving the raw audio.
too bad we only got them for the qualifying and quarterfinal rounds after 16 bot round nothing was posted at least so far

Man if they could've found a way to make that spinner more durable Icewave would have swept the competition. The spinner gave out in almost every fight it was in but always dealt crazy damage.
Icewave is just absolutely terrifying. Just hearing that blade rev up is wild. I'd hate to know what that would do to a person...
Seeing as the engine's made to make a blade tear through car doors, I'd imagine it'd be double that.
