  • This is my first 22LR Ammo test using a rifle. I am using the Savage Arms 64 FVXP. I figured this would be a good rifle to start working with until I get something that is better geared towards competition like the CZ 457 or possibly even the Walther KK500-E.
One of my TH-cam Subscribers wanted to see some ammo tests for the 22LR completed with a Rifle and I just wanted to start with something affordable to make sure this was something I was going to be like and be successful at. If anyone has any other suggestions of rifles for me to check out, please let me know so that when the time comes, I purchase the one that is going to give everyone the biggest bang for the buck.
This test was performed at 50 yards with 50 rounds and was able to do quite well. If you know about my ammo tests you will know that I do not believe in using only 5 rounds as I don't think it provides enough information to anyone looking to purchase the ammo. 22 LR Ammo can be very consistent or very inconsistent depending on the manufacturer. Sometimes the ammo can be as low as 80% consistent, while other manufacturers can keep it as high as 95%. When shooting only five rounds you can miss the range of consistency in the ammo resulting in inaccurate tests and giving people ammo that is less than desirable.
Our grouping at 50 yards with 50 shots including flyers was 2.527" wide x 2.524" high. I had nine flyers overall and two shots I pulled, those were my own fault. If I take out the 9 flyers plus the two errors on my parts my grouping was then 1.732" wide by 1.84" high.
At BallistiXPro we pride ourselves in making sure our tests are performed to the highest standards giving you the most accurate results of anyone out there.
Keep coming back for more ammo tests and feel free to let us know any ammo that you would like to see tested or any pistol or rifle you would like to see it tested with.

What firearms are you using with it? It fires great in my Ruger Mark IV, and in my Savage Arms 64 rifle as you have seen from the video. Are you having issues with jamming? or accuracy? Maybe I can help.

@@Justoneperson-hu3nh - Wow those are great guns. Nice collection. I love that High Standard, that is such a great .22 pistol. Is it just not firing accurately in the guns or is it jamming? I will admit, it is not the best ammo I have every tested, but not the worst either. With my Ruger MK IV my grouping at 50ft was 1.3 inches left to right and 0.967 inches top to bottom, that was without flyers, and with the flyers it was 1.6 inches left to right and 1.5 inches top to bottom. I had about 6 flyers in the group, so it does have some inconsistency, but not a whole, whole lot.
