The Ruger Mark IV Wiggle Part 2, How To Install the Volquartsen Precision Frame Lug
In this video I show you how to install the Volquartsen Precision Frame Lug the proper way. One tip you really need to follow is using a threadlocker. Make sure its not permanent though so if you need to take it back out some time in the future you still can.
Taking out the old frame lug is pretty simple and only requires a 3/32nd inch allen wrench or allen wrench attachment you can put into a multi-bit screwdriver. The multi-bit screwdriver does make it easier, but either way you will be good to go.
Aligning it back up is just as easy as taking it out, don't forget your threadlocker when you screw in the old bolt to the new lug. Once it is in place your Ruger Mark IV will no longer have the wiggle in it and will be better than new.

Federal Premium Gold Medal Target Ammo Review, 22lr, 40 grain, Velocity 1080ft/sec, Energy 104ft/lbs

Federal Premium - Gold Medal Target, a 22lr 40 grain bullet. This bullet travels at 1080ft/sec and has 104ft/lbs of energy. I tested the ammo at a distance of 50ft (16.67 yards or 15.24m) with 50 rounds of ammo. My grouping was 1.378" wide by 1.356" tall. I only had 4 fliers, which is actually really good for 22lr ammo. That means only about 1 of 12 bullets will be a flier. After taking out tho...

    These look awful. I don't mind the CCI quiets though. I think they shoot ok. If you shoot them out of a rifle they are actually quiet. I don't get stovepipes but they don't cycle the bolt. The CCI semi-auto quiets are worthless though. I only say this because they are still very loud out of a pistol. You might as well just use standard velocity.

    This ammo is a wild ride all the way around. I just ran 35 rounds through my 10/22 with KSA 16.5 bull barrel at 50 yards and got an average of 1290 fps with a high of 1389 and low of 1237 fps, an extreme spread of 152 and standard deviation of 32. The average energy was 133.10 ft/lbs. All of its numbers fall below the advertised. I can shoot MOA with most any ammo and subMOA with many, this junk was all over the place. Group average was 2.26” / 4.32 MOA with the smallest group of 1.36” / 2.62 MOA and 3.35” / 6.41 MOA. As you said in your TH-cam video, target ammo this is not. With the extreme fps spread, it’s definitely not on my radar for hunting. Beyond that I had 3 failures to feed, and could not get into chamber period, when in a new BX-1 mag, I had to use a pair of mags that have had the Tandemkross green springs installed with polished feed lips and ramp. With so many other good ammunition choices out there, avoid the Remington Viper Truncated Cone 36gr at all costs.

      @@philipwhite2639 I would hold off on buying those clean-22 blues. I had several problems with them. I tested 50, they shot smoke out of my pistol, not sure what was going on there. However the velocity of them was all over the place as well Min velocity was 759ft/sec, max velocity was 1002ft/sec, average velocity was 921.3ft/sec with a spread of 2431.1ft/sec and std deviation of 60.3ft/sec. Average Kinetic Energy was 75.7ft/lbs. (Measured with the new Garmin Xero C1 Pro) I also had one misfire and the bullet just did not go off. I am not sure I will release the video as I have a torn rotator cuff currently and it made it hard to shoot, the grouping was not bad though. I would call it about an average bullet, nothing special, but better than range ammo. I hope this helps for now. I will test it again though to make sure I didn't just get a bad batch and then maybe use both videos to compare.

    Automatch's accuracy is ok for pistol range but its quality is poor. I've had bullet cartridges bend, and tons of primers not igniting. They also wax it pretty heavily so it tends to make your semi auto into a single shot. I mostly avoid Federal 22LR ammo at this point.

I mostly shoot semi-auto pistols which are a bit more ammo sensitive. I shoot CCI SV when I'm running my suppressor. I've tried both federal automatch and bulk and the quality just isn't as good as CCI. I find it a bit odd since they are owned by the same company but it is what it is. I did this to all of my magazines as well. They just come pretty rough from Ruger. I sanded the follower channels too which make them feel a lot better when loading ammo. Also what really helped was making sure the mags are cleaned and the ammo isn't over-waxed. I just clean the front inside of the mag where the bullet rubs against it with some CLP. For heavy waxed bullets I just remove excess wax from the tips. Just rub them on a cloth. I had two boxes of 800 rds of federal that I picked up during the pandemic and it was really bad. So much wax. Before wiping down rds I'd get through about 20-30 shots before the jams and stovepipes on a clean magazine. After doing this I was able to shoot well over 200 rds with very few failures that were the fault of the gun. Federal ammo is pretty bad so it's not surprising to see a round need multiple primer strikes to fire. I had a few boxes of CCI AR minimags that were like this as well. The best running ammo I've found for the MK4 is cci target minimags. standard velocity usually works pretty well too. They are a bit more waxed

    • @BallistiXPro
      @BallistiXPro หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cool, How did you sand the follower channel? Wow that must have been hard. The biggest problem I had with that is I found out it was the bad finish on the springs from Ruger. If you add new Magazine springs from Tandemkross it totally takes that rough feeling away from pushing down the follower button to load them. Since the springs rub on the inside of the magazine wall it makes a huge difference if the springs have a smooth finish to them. You can see my video on that subject here: th-cam.com/video/5bLc3iIEgNk/w-d-xo.html I agree with the wax totally, however since I have done all of these steps to my Ruger Mark IV, I can leave the wax on them and no jamming. That was my main goal is to get the pistol to work without having to put in extra effort all the time, like wiping the bullets or cleaning it more often, or even bullets that it typically didn't like now work just fine. As far as bullets go, the best two I have tested so far are Norma Match-22 and Norma Hunter-22. These bullets rock, you can see the videos for them here: th-cam.com/video/Vw_vmOBMfHg/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/dzjCWk6UOOc/w-d-xo.html, if you want to see my review of the mini mags as well to compare they didn't do as well, but still they were pretty good. Here is that link: th-cam.com/video/txWXazOk97s/w-d-xo.html One thing I can tell you about bullets is that the only thing velocity changes is ft lbs of damage at impact, it has absolutely no effect on accuracy at ranges shorter and I don't ever shoot anything from 200 or 500 yards away to figure out where that impact begins. You may disagree , however you can see this in the pellet gun test I did here: th-cam.com/video/7RQTMpduMnM/w-d-xo.html Once you get over about 400ft per second, on a pellet gun, no impact on accuracy at 50ft at all. Thank you for the info and have a great day. 😁

    If you're using a mamba upper they have a new frame lug that you can buy that eliminates any wobble too. Works way better than this. As long as it is made of stainless steel it should not cause you any issues. Bluing only partially protects your parts from rusting so you just have to remove the bluing first. I removed the bluing on my S&W M&P 2.0 barrel just for fun for instance and then polished it because I like the polished look. It's made of stainless steel and then blued it has not rusted at all. Of coarse it is steel so don't get them wet after you do that, even though it is stainless steel, stainless steel can still rust. Thus why they put the bluing on it.

It would be better for them to leave that stuff out, save you the money so you can purchase the correct products to care for your handgun or put products in the goody bag that are on par with what you would need. The scope itself says "2x22" on it at the front. On the opposite side of the windage adjustment it says "PRO-CLASS" and on the top of the back of the scope it says "TASCO" On the inside of the handle there is a partial marking, there is no way to tell what it once could have been as most of it is gone. I really don't know that much about dry lubes. A little about graphite, but not really anything about Teflon or Moly. If you do watch through the six part series you will see that the solution to the stove pipe jams for the pistol have been worked out and that I am no longer getting them. I made this series in hopes to help others with the same problem, and it is really a three part solution. Polishing the bolt, polishing the inside of the receiver and modifying the magazines so that the bullet goes in at a slightly different angle. I think I have now put close to 750 rounds through my Ruger Mark IV without cleaning it and no jamming yet. That is probably not good practice, however I wanted to make sure it would last through an entire competition without stove piping. I have put almost every single kind of ammo I can throw at it as well, and nothing is jamming in it at all. If you like this video, watch the rest of the series to see how the problem gets fixed.
