IMO 03' til about 05' was peak design language across almost the whole Infiniti line up from the G, Q, FX, QX and 03'/04'M, their cars looked like no other brand on the road at that time, the styling just looked so good.

@@350zlover2 agreed, I bought the 03' M45 in diamond white back then and to this day it's still my favorite car I've owned, when that came out I knew I had to have one, still think the styling looks awesome, it stood out in traffic, rarely seen model too.

@user-bx7tj5it7o Nice to hear! I owned a 04 M45 as well and it was white with custom white and chrome wheels! I loved the power of that vehicle!!!! I also had a J30 as well that I purchased from my mom. I owned several Infinitis back in the day. I liked Lexus as well back then but they were expensive so I always went with Infiniti because they were always a couple of thousand cheaper. Now that I have a larger income I just purchase Lexus vehicles now but I would consider Infiniti again if their reliability improves.

@@350zlover2 ahhhh very nice! same taste I see and yeah that RWD 345HP V8 got that car moving, it was a powerful/fast car for it's size especially back then, with those long sharp body lines it was aggressive yet refined, very distinctive styling, not many people knew what it was unless they were into cars, beautiful car! It was fun to own for sure.

Picked up an '08x sedan in 2021 with the intent of it being my winter beater. After realizing its capabilities, I spent double what the car's value is into aftermarket modifications. The car is driven year round alternating with my Cayman. The VQ35HR is a gem, now revving to 8k with the UpRev tune, with very little NVH. I think the '07-'08 sedan is pinnacle Infiniti with its old school analog N/A power and sleeper looks.

Nismo had a strong culture in Hawaii. We were easily 20-30 deep with any G/Z function at Waikiki. My coupe was an 04 manual and sedan 05. Man, those were the good ol days. We traded my wife's 03 sedan for a GS430 but I thought the Infiniti was more fun 😆

Definitely feel like there were some small nuances missed when it came to the 07-08 Sedans but overall a good video. I also think that there should have been more emphasis on the change between the VQ35DE and the VQ35HR because there are significant differences between those engines and platforms. 2006 G35 coupe w/132K miles. I bought it in early 2012 with 80K miles and it's been great. This car started out it's life as a lease vehicle for 2-3 years, then an older guy bought it and owned it until he died. I'm owner three and will die owning it. I had to spend zero on anything except fuel, oil changes, filters until 2023 and then it started to turn around and bite me. Replaced both rear axle bearings, new cam and crank sensors,heater/AC fan relay got replaced. I've replaced all the belts and radiator hoses along with the cap. I put new tires on it in early 2023. I changed out both window motors a couple of years ago,did that myself and saved a ton. The AC is still ice freakin COLD.
I have the same issues they all will have with the small stress cracks in the dash covering, on the BOSE system the CD player died a year ago, (with some CD's stuck in it) radio still works fine. The car is black with the tan interior and still looks great. No rust to be found. It's always garaged and never driven in crap weather. Being retired it only gets about 4K miles on it per year. I'm 71 now and still love sports cars. This car will be 20 years old in 11 months and still looks new.

This july I will have had my coupe for 17 years. Hard to believe. I have redone the tech in it, it has a nice factory look to it while having the touch screen, car play, etc. All pieces of the interior have been painted (keeping factory look for the most part). After market rims were put on it in December of 2015. Car looks sharp. It only puts about 2,500 miles on it a year. Mostly it sits in the garage or on the driveway. I still get many, many compliments on it today. Car looks brand new. Paint looks brand new. (ceramic coated with Tech582 always put on it as well). Love my coupe. I will have it probably indefinitely. I have toyed with the idea of making it a show car.

I bought an 04 g35 to cut it to pieces and make a vaydor. I actually placed the order and they never filled my order.
Was pricey in my opinion at 16,000 for the body and interior on a sale they offered. So I didn't push on them to fill my order.
Been driving the 6spd daily...80 miles round trip. Coming home has alot of bumper to bumper traffic.
I'll say this. I have owned around 40 cars easy. Including vettes, mustangs, rx8s, and bmws to name a few.
The 04 g35 is a master piece for the streets. It can go into 6th gear at 25 mph. You can stay there till top speed.
I'm not sure if the clutch is hydraulic. Haven't had to work on that part. She dang near shifts herself.
Just pure pleasure to drive... even in traffic. 90% of my shift don't even need the clutch.
In my opinion the gas mileage is great too. Very quick and don't drink as much as a v8 of course. Apples to apples comparison.
I never make excuses for a machine. No one gives them to me. So I call it for what it is.

Very informative I love your style. Last year I picked up an '04 G35/S, sedan with 6 speed manual with black leather interior, reclining rear seats, ivory pearl white paint which I believe is the most rare or second most rare color for a bit there along side the rare blue. I paid 5 grand cash and it came with raceland coils, a mishimoto aluminum radiator, an injen cold air intake and full N1 lip kit. I'd love to see the dealership msrp paper.

Own a 2009 G37 and have to say, I love the exhaust noice when aftermarket exhaust is added but I hated the cup holders, hated not having ventilated seats, hated the interior quality of important items, and the Infiniti community was actually more toxic than the Acura/Lexus communities. Really it was just the car my gf needed for work until we upgraded her to a RX350 now that she’s a teacher and needs the cargo.
The mpg was pitiful too, the g37 was doing 13.4mpg average on premium.

I have an '08 G35 Jouney, which my bf, a former Porsche owner and now a BMW Z4 owner, calls an old lady's car, but beleive me, IT"S NOT an old lady's car (although I AM an old lady, haha, mid sixties but still love to go fast). My car was a steal, owned by an older gentleman, covered in his driveway in perfect condition, with 80,000 mi on it. I bought it in 2015 for $12, 000. He had every service record on the car since new! i now have 138,000 mi on the car and have not had a single problem with it, other than a burned out headlight. I put racing brakes and tires on it, and tinted the windows but otherwise stock. The only problems I have had with the car is, and this could just be me, but I don't see well out of it, like my spatial orientation is off with this car. I'm always parking it crooked ot nicking the bumper or something stupid. Tonight I backed up next to the neighbor's trash can, which they put too close to the back of the car, and I broke the passenger side mirror off- DAMN, and DOUBLE DAMN!! the body shop knows me well, sadly, but I like to keep the car looking new. I can't think of another car I would like to have right now, except maybe a Tesla because I spend a lot of money on gas.

I'll pay a little extra for the enjoyment of acceleration and handling. The styling in and out is still way more than acceptable in today's world. As a small dealer, I've owned tons of different cars and the 35's and 37's are solid. It's just a weird coincidence, since I just commented on the RLX hybrid video yesterday, but I bought my wife the 2007 G35S new in November of that year. Baby blue. Automatic. It's been garaged, and we live in the south, so there is no rust. We have 128K miles on the car. The car did have a headlight go out, and thankfully, we had a long term warranty, so the $2700 head lamp was covered. My wife demanded that we buy the extended warranty...for $3300.. But the car has been bulletproof otherwise, mechanically. The Seat belt guide on the driver's side has broken, after the warranty ran out, and my wife refused to pay the exorbitant price the dealer wanted for the repair. The seat belt still works, though, if we feet the seat belt in, and it will lock in fast stops. The car still drives tight, with no squeaks or rattles, and corners great. The gas mileage is terrible, as adveritised, but the car is a joy to drive. The leather just wore through on the driver's seat. I take the blame for that, as that was lack of maintenance. That's it.. My wife LOVES the car, and she drives it aggressively. She tells me that there is no new car she likes as much, and I don't blame her. I am really glad that the 2007 had the G37 sedan shape, as it looks so much better. Would have never bought the earlier models. I feel this vehicle was a great value.
I will say that the throttle is too touchy for me to drive the smoothly. But it's a blast to drive on curvy roads, and sits in the middle of the lane on the highway. I believe it still had hydraulic steering in 2007, and that just adds to the fun

I had a 2003 6MT sedan. The fuel economy wasn't that bad. 23 combined, though 28 was achievable on the highway. The problem I had was the handling. The rear end would step out without warning, and the behavior was unpredictable. This made driving the car at the limit a big no-no for me. Also, the seats were a little narrow due to the placement of the seat controls. Finally, for tall drivers, left leg room was bad due to how much the door speaker protruded into the footwell.
I chose this car over the Germans because it was far better value for the money and was, in many ways, a better car. However, I ended up getting rid of it after a couple of years because of the lack of comfort. I think the facelift was better, but I never wen't back to try it.

I was a fan of the VQ 3.5 and the models G 35/ Nissan 350Z. I even owned an '05 Z Touring (Yellow) for a while. The significant exhaust note was profound, and still regarded by some JDM fans as one of the best of modern development. I couldn't deal with the lack of low end torque from the VQ; but that was just my heavy footed mentality overtaking the delight of driving said car.
I see more G35's that are well beyond their prime; often "clapped out" by previous owners over the years. Sad to see, but that's the end-life for some. The "VQ" equipped coupes from both manufacturers were ahead of their time no doubt. It took on the 3 Series and C Class quite respectfully in its heyday; especially when they both offered a 6 speed manual transmission.

My mom bought an 04 G35x new. I still have it. Overall, it not a bad car but these cars were built when Renault was merging with Nissan.
Renault's mission was to get Nissan profitable again by driving down costs and increasing market share. The result was all Nissan and Infiniti products suffered from build quality and just overall quality of the cars.
I wouldn't recommend buying any v35 cars unless you just want to have fun with it or make it an engine swap candidate which is what I plan to do with mine.

Parked in the garage so the paint is like new he always had maintenance done at nissan or infiniti. I love my car i was almost going to trade it in for a Q50 but the g37 35 are cheaper to fix and cheaper mods. My car hasnt let me down she takes me wherever i need to go gas is not good or bad i cant complain and i mean nothing was made to not break so you're talking about a 10 plus year old car. I bought it from an old man bc ik he wasnt torturing the engine. B4 you buy a used infiniti look at the seller if its too good dont do it bc i promise they ran that engine 😤
