Testing Maximum Magnification: The test involves examining how well the binoculars perform at their highest magnification setting (22x). This includes assessing image clarity, resolution, and brightness at this extreme zoom level.
Long-distance Observation: Testers might focus on distant objects, such as distant landscapes, buildings, or celestial bodies like stars or planets, to evaluate the clarity and detail provided by the binoculars at maximum zoom.
Image Stability: At high magnifications, image stability becomes crucial. Testers might assess how well the binoculars counteract hand tremors or vibrations, either by using image stabilization features (if available) or by evaluating the inherent stability of the optics and the user's ability to maintain a steady view.
Low-Light Performance: Observing objects at long distances often means dealing with lower light conditions. Testers could examine how well the binoculars gather and transmit light, assessing their performance in dimly lit environments or during twilight hours.
Edge-to-Edge Sharpness: The test would likely include evaluating the sharpness and clarity of the image across the entire field of view, ensuring that there are no distortions or blurriness, especially towards the edges of the image.
Color Fidelity: Assessing how accurately colors are represented at maximum magnification is also important. Testers would look for natural color reproduction without any noticeable color fringing or distortion.
Overall, the "Extreme Zoom Test" would aim to provide insights into the binoculars' performance when pushed to their limits, helping users understand their capabilities in demanding viewing conditions.

    Why I like your videos?
Because your videos are short ,to the point with no nonsense...
Because it helps a prospective buyer to make a decision
Because you are a reviewer from my own country....with same type of consciousness on budget ,practicality, value for money etc.
Others should learn from you how to make these kind of videos

@@Pracitcalscience can you pls tell me at 16× magnification which is better -Nikon 16×50 or Nikon 10-22×50?(Acculon series)
Why binoculars with fixed magnification are recommend over variable zoom ones?Other than weight are there any mechanical or optical disadvantage?

    • @Pracitcalscience
      @Pracitcalscience  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The eye relief in variable magnification binoculars is usually found to be low compared to fixed magnification binoculars. This is due to the complicated zooming feature, which does not allow a high eye relief. Again Narrow field of view, unstable image caused by hand movement, and a small exit pupil that makes the image darker. These factors make it difficult to observe moving subjects or locate distant objects. Therefore, these binoculars are difficult to use or film with 🙏

What would you say about this Nikon compared to for example 10x50 or 16x50? I'm binging your videos right now and I'm trying to put it everything in my mind, but it is a lot of information :D
From what I've seen on your other videos it seems they are similar when comparing the same zoom levels (like 10-22x50 at 10x is similar to the fixed 10x50). But on the other hand some other people really discourage getting variable zoom binoculars so I'm torn.
A comparison would be great. Meaning 10-22x50 vs 10x50 vs 16x50 and maybe some 20x70 or 25x. Both for this glorious satellite dish and the moon or other celestial objects. I wonder if they are not too dim.

Also it looks like Celestron 25x70 did much better since we were able read the text on the dish, right? Or it was just a matter of different weather conditions.
And one more thing - it would be great to put everything on a website somewhere. You have so much good footage of everything, it would be a shame to bury it on YT among thousands of videos. You could avoid TH-cam compression algorithm and also crop everything to a similar size.

I once tried one of these zoom binoculars, it looked like watching through a toilet paper roll, very narrow apparent field of view. The Nikon 10x50 fixed magnification was much wider.

Maybe its just me but it seems like a 10x zoom on binoculars is so much more than a 10x zoom on as rifle scope?
