I just started Judo over here in Korea! The white belt I got is super long, turns out it can make a good strap to wear the folded gi like a bag. So handy, haha.
It's in Jukjeon which is in Bundang, Gyeonggido. It's only a short walk from where I live. 죽전화랑유도회관 is its name. Man, the warm ups here are lethal, it's a whole different level to karate. I look forward to the day that I can do it without throwing my lungs up.
Sometimes I prepar my judogui like you do in the video and is easy to walk with it on my hand, and another times I packed up and introduce it in my judo bag, it´s very practical. I was reading your blog and I like your story because it seems me interesting. Thanks for show us your fantastic videos.
That's a great experience! You will learn great judo in Brazil. They are one of the strongest judo programs in the world. My favorite guy is Leo Leite. Olympic judo and former champ in BJJ. What a combo. One can dream... I hope everything settles in well for you there and you take away some great memories and experiences. Maybe I'll bump into you in Coconut Creek some day!!
@SeoulTee I moved to the north east of Brazil and live in the city of Joao Pessoa, I've been in Brazil 5 months now. I was with ATT my last six months in the states. I'm Kinda doing what your doing but with less success, I had a great job teaching English but they had to let me go. So now I have a horrible paying Job and I'm barely making it. But the Jiu-Jitsu is awesome and the north east has a low cost of living. All I do is train and this week I'm adding Judo to my routine, my takedowns suck.
Yes. I trained at American Top Team in Coconut Creek and Gracie Barra in St. Pete. My time in BJJ is limited though. About a year at the moment. I'm currently a blue belt. There is Tozi BJJ here in Busan that I am trying to cross train at if I can afford it!
Where in Brazil did you move? That must be a great place to be. I love ATT! Liborio is truly a great leader of that organization. He treats every last member like they are his best friend. I hope to train there again someday.
The most frustrating thing about martial arts gear is in the sizing especially if you're a big strong guy because they're all made for slender Asian frames. I'm 6ft tall 300lb with a 50" waist and only a couple products fit me but none of them wrap properly except ones I had to tailor down in height. All they do is up size the entire product... they don't make it for bigger stronger people so if I get a gi that fits me I have to tailor it down from the seven-foot-tall cut they deliver to your door because the ridiculous manufacturers just assume the same frame at the same standard dimensions rather than keeping it of average height/length and just making it bigger to accommodate a larger more powerful individual. When I was 350lbs I only had two gis that would fit and they were hard to find and exorbitantly expensive for what they were...Fuji 10 and MACS 12 (these were the largest commercial Gis available but of course they were cut for people who were 10 ft tall so they are comically long!
The fit. BJJ gis have evolved from the judo gi to what it is today with less material. In judo, the IJF has mandatory fitting requirements for competition. Manufacturers adhere to these requirements when making gis.

hi nice vídeo , hey what is the difference between judogi and bjjgi
Okay, Bjj gi's are made from different materials. Judo GI's can come in single or double weave..
Never seen this way before! Also, it looks like it was dropped in water haha
Hey man, I notice you have a Boston shirt on, where do you train when you are in MA?
My home is actually Florida. But originally from NH.
Ah, got ya. I live in MA and train in Somerville and was wondering. Keep up the good work dude.
Do you train BJJ? I know you train Judo just curious.
Unfortunately, there's not too much "gentle" about it! lol
zor
Well, maybe a good method to fold a clean gi...but honestly, who would treat a stinky, sweaty gi like that...???
what's the difference between judo gi and bjj kimono?

SeoulTee
I'm assuming bjj gi is a slimmer fit than the judo gi? thank you for the quick reply.
