    I'd like to point out that how I say I find the cause of your highway anxiety in this video isn't how I do it at all. That's what everyone expects hypnosis to be, and what I used to do, but I have come on a long way since making this video and now use far more effective methods. Hypnosis is now virtually irrelevant in my work and I have many newer, more up-to-date videos than this explaining it in more detail. A lot of what I say in this video is correct but check out this updated version of this video for more accurate and up-to-date information th-cam.com/video/HJuzIsX_Seo/w-d-xo.html

    I don't have a fear of being "trapped". Mine is mainly on big highways, where everything seems so wide open. The openness, the speed, feeling of being out of control/losing control. And I don't know when, or where this came from...I used to drive all over the place, big cities, big Interstate highways. Now, I rarely leave my town, and try to stick to two-lane roads.

      @1stdrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Many people I work with fear open spaces and the other things you mentioned. They often contradict themselves by saying they feel trapped which shows it's an unconscious problem because you can't be trapped in a wide-open space. Whenever there's a contradiction like that it shows a conflict between your conscious (which knows it's false) and your unconscious (which thinks it's real).
      In your case, the word trapped can be substituted for control. You know you're in control (conscious) but you feel you're not (unconscious) so you experience the feelings your mind associates with not being in control.
      This is why affirmations and positive thinking are a total waste of time. You can tell yourself you're in control and say "I've got this!" all you like, but your unconscious mind won't listen.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Arizsh It's better to fix it when it's only at this stage. It's different for everyone but most people I work with who have far worse problems started out like this and didn't realise that the problem would grow. It often starts on larger roads and then works its way down to smaller roads and then all roads. I'm doing a video on this soon to show how the problem develops if you just leave it and I'll talk about the most extreme case I've had so far which shows how far it can go!

    I feel trapped on the thruway or highway because you can’t just stop and turn around. I know nothings gonna to happen to me but I just hate this anxiety! Also I can drive on the highway as long as I’m with someone so being alone is the main challenge for me

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good way to start looking at this is to ask yourself what being alone means and how it's a problem. Not just when you're driving, at any time.

      That's curious isn't it? When you have someone with you you, as the driver, are responsible for them. That seems to bring a sense of competence and courage. Not just when driving.

    I live in the US and used to do road trips with my best friend, I used to drive from San Diego, which is on the border of Mexico and drive to Canada, I used to drive on some of the most scenic and scariest highways, through the rockies of colorado to going to the sun road in Montana/Canada, then I had my twins, they were preemie, and I had postpartum, I was on the freeway and they were screaming crying and I got stuck on the freeway during rush hour, no one would let me go, I had a panic attack, almost getting hit several times I finally got off the freeway, and was shaking, I stopped driving on that freeway. another time at night hardly anyone on another freeway, a woman in a big truck came out of no where and tailgated me, even flashing her lights there were 5 lanes! she tried to knock me off the freeway came up on me seen my sleeping babies and looked shocked and got off the freeway, I had a panic attack, stopped driving on the freeways, all but one, which I had to take for work, then I left my job, due to an injury, and stopped driving on the freeways all together. my boys are now 15 and want to go to the mountains, I cant drive them, I feel like a crappy mom. I wish I could over come my fear, ,at least for them.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's all very common. Having kids changes a lot and there's obviously some link between that and your driving. What that is you can't say until you go through therapy but once you release it, you release the problem.

    How does knowing the cause make it all go away? I know the cause 100% ,
    I don’t need to be hypnotised to find that out.
    So how do I get rid of the fear/fobia?

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't know the cause, you've just come to a conscious rationalisation of what you think it is based on the limited logic of your conscious mind. You do need to go into hypnosis to fix it because you went into hypnosis to form the problem. It's something I'll make a video on but only once you've been through it and experienced the incredible moment when you realise what the problem truly is will you ever truly understand it. Then you'll go round telling everyone how great it was and they'll tell you it's nothing to do with hypnosis...

    Hi! I've had claustrophobic like anxiety a long time now, more or less 20 years. It appears on freeway especially, and sitting on a boat if it's long way from mainland. Sitting on a bus or if I drive myself, same thing. Symptoms start with sweaty palms, furthermore heavy feeling in chest, more sweating and I start to think how long I have to stay in the vehicle.. And the heart start hammering until I get off the freeway / reach land. I haven't a clue why this happens.. I just feel trappet, kind of. Large bridges, also bad. And the wierd thing, if it's cloudy and raining, symptoms almost not there.
    I tried to think of past events that can trigger this... Thinking way way back. My mom and I was sitting on a bus, the bus stoppet, on the ways out of the bus, the door closed before me. The bus went on, and I saw my mom outside, and I was trapped inside for a wile, I was scared. It could be 35 years ago... But can tings like this trigger fear subconsciously...? It kind of make sense.

    I have this exact problem I used to go on planes and ride on the biggest highways now I completely avoid all of these , I go with therapists and take medicines but it doesn’t seem to help. I only get panic attacks on highways smaller roads I can do. What do you suggest I do?

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to find the right therapist for you; someone who knows what they're doing and you feel safe with. There are lots of therapists about but many are poorly trained or have no training and even if they do, it's vital you have a connection with them or your mind will resist working with them. There are times, although rare, where people just can't be helped. One of the greatest hypnotherapists of all time said that you can't help everyone.

      I have the same thing. I think we just have to do it,practice , just small steps. And Breathing is very important! Im going to make a small trip tomorrow 😢....i dont want it but im going to do it.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ishtar8725 Practicing won't do anything because your problem has nothing to do with driving. Breathing won't help because that has nothing to do with the problem either, you're just covering up the symptoms. The way to overcome it is to work with a professional who understands what's really happening.
