    Got mine yesterday, and took my first photos on a "expired" pack of i-Type B&W film produced in January 2018... (got forgotten in the fridge, along with 2 packs from 2019 and 2021... oops lol) the pictures came out freaking amazingly sharp, perfectly exposed, and just plain beautiful in terms of detail. I'm surprised the film has held up so well despite being nearly 6 years old... But yes, I'm in love with my I-2, (don't worry my sweet SX-70 Sonar, I still love you just the same). 😄

    Boyyyyy howdy I am so excited about this! I was on vacation when the launch happened so I may have missed that first 50 folks deal but we should all rest assured my gal was plenty sour with me for spending MORE money on another camera, let alone one that dragged my attention away from living in the moment on the beach (which was also photographed heavily using the OneStep+!) and into the BFC ordering forms! A happy Brooklyn-based layover on the way home commences in 12 hours! See y’all soon!

    Nice review, Ben. Very excited about this camera. I have and really liked the "Spectra". The images that you shown were excellent. However, maybe because it is on video to internet some didn't look sharp(?) Looks like a fun camera to play with.

    definitely a little apprehensive... plastic lens and no manual focus is kind of surprising... I could forgive the plastic lens if there was manual focusing, but I am still wondering if just saving up for a 680/690 would be the better choice 😔 or just using my sx-70 sonar with an ND filter for 600 film...
    still, very tempting regardless; I love playing with new tech, just kinda bummed at that price tag for a plastic lens

    I love the Pronto-esque design of the I-2! Does the viewfinder have a rangefinder patch, or is it more for lining up shots, like in classic box-type Polaroids?

    • @brooklynfilmcamera
      @brooklynfilmcamera  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The VF is more for composition! The focus feedback provided in the VF includes the precise focus point that the AF hit, so ostensibly a rangefinder focusing functionality.

    Hi Ben, the camera can be used with i-Type and 600 film. Is the use of SX70 film also possible? If so, does the camera detect the different iso itself or does the user have to enter this in the camera settings?

    I think most of the over exposures are directly related to the films ASA ratings. They are not accurate in sensitivity.

    Awesome that the 3 kinds of film can be used !!! But, doesn’t the battery pack on SX-70 and 600 films interfere or hurt the electronics of this new gem ?

    • @charlottebligh649
      @charlottebligh649 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      My guess would be no? The Now and Now+ are capable of taking 600 film with no issues, so I'd assume the same would hold for this

    • @raze3297
      @raze3297 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure why it would and I doubt they'd advertise it as taking 600 and SX-70 if it did. The camera has an internal battery so I doubt it has electrical terminals to connect to the cartridge batteries.

      Hi, can confirm it will focus through clean, clear glass. Just have to pay attention to the distance reported in the viewfinder. If it shows less than 0.4m it's catching the glass or something on it.

    • @vekofoto

      I-2 lens: plastic, min focusing distance 40 cm, no manual focus, pincushion distortion.
      SX-70/SLR 680/690 lens: four-element glass, min focusing distance 26 cm, manual focus or auto on models with Sonar, no distortion.
      How exactly does this plastic outperform the vintage glass lens? 😂 Polaroid website can’t even decide whether it’s one three-element lens or a combination of three lenses 😅

    Boy oh boy, you can really tell our host ain’t all the way jazzed about this one either. They went so far with the engineering and stopped just short of making something that would solve the problems that MiNT had fixed already. Batteries that last, manual focus, shutter speeds in higher ranges…
