This is an old animation test I put together of Raziel narrating the SR opening with a mix of the cutscene sequences. The model used wasn't made from scratch so he's not that accurate -- but as mentioned, this was just a fun test thing and maybe you'll enjoy it.
You honored Michael Bell's monologue here perfectly. He'd be proud watching this. It's like MB himself as Raziel is speaking to us about what happened to him lskjfskfsjfksj. This slapped me with a face full of Nostalgia my gods. WELL DONE.
God, the way he covers his face with his arms in a vain attempt to protect himself right before he hits the water was a gut punch. I didn't think this scene could possibly have more of an emotional impact, but here we are. Well done.

Retelling the original story with youtube clips existing would be impossible. Youd need a new hook. Perhaps set it in modern times? Our earth is the end result. Kain convienced others to tell his tale. Before the new zion of ballance was born. The elder god buried at the core of the earth. And old patterns repeat themselves.
A series would be heaven sent. I've wanted to see this in a live version ever since I played it and fell in love with this game. You guys have any ideas who you'd like to see play the characters? I only have one actor in mind for Raziel and that is Tom Hiddleston. But I'd love to hear other ideas for Kain and Raziel if anyone has any dream casting for those two? Discuss.
If they hire you for the reinvigoration project, they will be using the right man for the job. Seeing the young Raziel explain his own story adds a gruesome pain to what became of his mortal form and the blue revenant that the waters made of the remains. Bravo.
This is beyond perfection and words are not capable to describe how perfect this is. Since the release of this video, I've been watching it infinitely and brings me happiness as do all the viewers who're truly fans of this series or legendary artists/animator who seeks eyesight pleasure and artistic content that pushes boundaries beyond perfectionism. I'm writing this with full heartful joy and emotions to see such a masterpiece revamped a masterpiece. I hope Crystal Dynamics sees this and work with you. As you deserve way more than this kind of reward. Would love to see Kain getting revamped as this perfectionism.

I always felt a twinge in my heart with that brief moment of silence. I always felt like he was trying to find a way to justify what he was, or more feel better about it, just like Kain had in the very first game. It's really kinda sad how neither of them truly like, or even agree with what they've become, but don't have a choice

I am a LoK/SR stan for life. The series has a distinct honor right beside FF7(and onward) in my gaming pantheon. Believe me when i say....BRAVO,👏👏, Bra-F'n-VO! My friend you have my admiration. The emotion you capture from the original voice recordings rival that of the original game. Raziel looks as i would've imagined him. Imo if they were to remake, and i say that tentatively as to not welcome doom upon us, LoK they should contact you. I give an overwhelming endorsement, gl and keep at it.

Maybe late in the adventure you get the wings and able to use them for the last few portions of the game, trying to keep the knowledge from Kain but eventually word gets out and Raziel is summoned to him and the game would end where Soul Reaver begins?

When the game Nosgoth was alive i thought it was pretty cool that there is a vampire class that can fly. Because in the game Raziels Clan was terminated by Kain it was nice to see what special ability his Clan had in Nosgoth.

Wow! This is astonishing is felt like watching a remake cutsence from soul reaver. Plus I love the change of narration with Raziel explaining what happen and how Kain was corrupted in power.Especially, at the end where his eyes glow transforming into a warith. (i think that is how you spell it).
Now THAT is talent. I can picture a story forming here. It goes that somehow Raziel's ghost has broken free of the Reaver & encounters a human in the present day, this tale he narrates to his new human friend, who turns out to be descended from a long line of Vampire Hunters. However in this era, hunting supernatural beings has fallen out of favour due to lack of prospects & rarely occurs (except out of necessity). The human hunter realises that in his/her profession, nothing is black & white.
I love the reworking cinematics you made for this game. I gotta say keep doing amazing work it might push them to actually make a remake with your amazing style!
I really wish they made a game where you play as Raziel as a regular vampire (as in he feeds on blood). There's so many unanswered questions about his time as Kain's lieutenant. All we know is that he was there when Kain rose to power, he served him for a thousand years he and he helped Kain turn his brethren into vampires (as revealed in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2).

Man, I LOVE how natural the lip syncing is, and the movement of the head (and the hair following it), and even the darting of the eyes instead of staring in one place, cuz that's how actual eyes behave: they dart around, even unconsciously. I also really like the one close shot of his hands when he says "we became less human". I REALLY wanna see more Legacy of Kain animations from you!! :D

That's because while old, this is more modern pc graphics while Soul Reaver (SR) is now over 20 year old and made for Playstation 1. Even SR2 is almost as old and made for the PS2.

I am always excited to see these animations you spend time making. They are one of the best to show younger audiences the series in a more “fresh” take. If you keep up good work, you might have a chance to help recreate this series into an actual remaster(like the guy who spent years on a sonic game and got to help develop frontiers) The problem I see with this series not getting a remaster is Square Enix’s decision and some VA wouldn’t be able to return. This is pretty amazing! I wish you would have kept the “Cast him in” part. That’s just such an integral part of the opening scene for me, but that’s me nitpicking your incredible work. I need to say, I watched this video more than fifty times. It would be amazing if you do the same animation for other parts, maybe a second part: Raziel talking to Elder God in the intro.
As someone who never got the chance to play but watch my father plays this game series, this an amazing work you've done sir, I've showed this clip to my father he was happy he thought they remake it!.
I imagine that in one of the earlier timelines, this version of Raziel is recounting this to Janos Audron.

This is pretty amazing! I wish you would have kept the “Cast him in” part. That’s just such an integral part of the opening scene for me, but that’s me nitpicking your incredible work. Even if the model wasn’t from scratch, this is just mind blowing and makes me want to see a remake of the series even more!
