0:48 Why are these rocks painted red? This looks very impressive, DJI have come a long way from demonstrating how tough their Flame Wheel F450/550 frames were, by throwing them out the window of an office block☺

ah, speciality. no modular lifting system or user-configurable payload, just LiDAR - which was developed in the early seventies but left off DJI drones, presumably because they didn't see a market for it. Apple did the same thing, dropped LiDAR into iPads, and for the same reason - to address flagging sales in a limited and saturated market. In 1990 the Space Shuttle scanned the planet with LiDAR in several passes, making topographical data available with a resolution of 0.44m, having removed anything which moved between the passes. The low resolution means you won't be scanning every leaf on every tree, or deal with a terabyte-sized point cloud for a small patch of grass.
Well... comparing frame type LiDAR vs. multiple line LiDAR is difficult to begin with. Yes, you would get more points per second on a line sensor like XT32. However, the points shooting upwards for drone applications would not actually be used. For example, if we consider a 70-degree equivalent horizontal field of view, which is what L2 has, (70/360)*640,000 ≈ 125,000 pts/s. And L2 has 240,000 pts/s when you compare it that way. Anyway, it would be a difficult comparison because of the sensor type...
when the nvidia 10090s GPU release in about 7-8 years and we have standard 5TB ssd, with 30 TB Harddrives, 128GB ram as standard gaming PCs this will be possible at 4K quality .
