After 50 years of Surveying, starting out with K&E and Gurley transits measuring the horizontal and vertical angles with a vernier scale and measuring linear distances with a steel 200 foot "chain" I am retiring next week. I am saddened to know that I will never get to use these new and exciting technological survey tools. I am about to receive Matrice 350 RTX with Zenmuse L2 in few days and must admit that your video is really among the first rare really good L2 examples. Thank you so much and will be subscribing for sure.
Rami - Terrific video as always. I'd love to see (a) how the relative accuracy of the GCP coordinates measured by RTK compares to those measured with a total station and if that would have any effect on the final result, and (b) an accuracy comparison between the drone LiDAR and a series of terrestrial laser scans.
Love your video. I'll probably look at more. You might add the part about being licensed and the waiver to fly over people and moving vehicles next time so the rest of your viewers know.
Watching your videos for the first time today. Very informative, clear and to the point. I want to sell this equipment to the company I work for. Surveying job sites would be a great time saver, and efficient for accurate material count. One thing I noticed is the drone you are using, and the fact you aren’t wearing a high viz vest? I subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work.
Sweet drone / leaf blower, 6:09. Probably want to clear out stuff around your launch site so nothing gets in the blades or scratches the lidar scanner.
great stuff !! for future video maybe reduce the half screen selfie ex. 10:00 min and reduce it to a corner screen, something like Indiana Drones stuff . Thank you!
Grate job, congrats!!! How long time did you take to make all flight and what the area covered ? I'm interest to know about the productivity of this M350 + Z L2 setup, and use of batteries.
I know the Matrice 350 RTK can have an accuracy of 1cm + 1ppm Horiz and 1.5cm = 1ppm Vert with the RTK correction. what level of accuracy can the lidar produce in areas of high vegetation using the L2?
What software or app does the DJI Matrice 350 RTK with P1 Camera need or use for the auto flight control? We are looking at purchasing that drone for aerial photogrammetry and volumetric surveying at our quarry. We currently have an Ebee Sensefly that uses eMotion software for the flight and then we use Pix4D to process all the data. Does the DJI come with flight software or does something else need to be purchased separately? We plan to continue to use the Pix4D for the final processing.
Rami, I would like to request a video on making a Custom DSM in DJI Terra to be used for terrain follow. Specifically, I have some landfills I need to lidar this year and they have grown vertically quite a bit since the last Satellite DSM and I would like to maintain the same GSD. I have flown them in the past using photogrammetry and real time terrain follow using a Mavic 3 E. I thought this might be a good tutorial for you to make in a future video given that I cant find much info online concerning that topic.
Good day! we're using drone using dji zenmuse L2. we encouter a problem regarding the data. when we transfer from one place to another the elevation is different. we are using Qt modeler. will you help us?
I'd like to call you, I'm a tower manufacturer for communication towers, My question is, can a tower be mapped to get brace sizes and thickness of the angle iron and size of the legs, can it also give me the diameter of the bolts.
Dear Rami, can you please clarify whether the MATRIC 350 with L2 can record LIDAR manually WITHOUT a flight plan and whether you can LIDAR the Interior and Exterior of a Building on the same flight and produce a model that includes both WITHOUT requiring two separate flights and models.? I do understand that for practical reasons we do not always have this work flow since the camera cannot scan the full height of an interior floor but we require to have as much information possible on a single model.. Thank you.
Did you ok all the houses you are flying over, the children who would be hurt if there was a problem... This weight of machine in the UK would not be viable for overflight due to regulations
Great video, really informative. But what on earth is an "international foot", you guys needs to move on from this insane medieval measuring system :-)

Amazing! but it very expensive when you work to document Heritage sites🙁
Cool vid. Just a friendly heads up - using GPS under powerlines isn't recommended.
Excellent video👍, thank you for sharing with us
Dear sir without RTK positioning i could not process the image with dji terra what is the solution
brilliant video as always , how would you compare the ROCK r360 to the L2 ?
That would be very interesting 🤔
i guess the key difference is the SLAM enabled feature of the R360@@RamiTamimi
The R360 has 2 returns vs the L2s 5. but the 360 has SLAM mode which is pretty amazing.
yes i beleive those to be the key differences ,but more shots per return on r360 no ?@@Rogun987
Why do we need GCPs when we do RTK survey? I understand it is needed to Check accuracy of the survey, but is it used during processing LiDAR data?

Can the L2 pick up distribution lines also or just the transmission lines? Distribution lines are about 0.04"

Can you use the pointcloud without DJI Terra? I only have Trimble RealWorks and Agisoft. Will I be able to create a workflow with those?
Does DJI Terra process LiDAR on the cloud or a server, or on your machine? If the latter, what computer specs do you have?
Could this be used to survey a crane runway inside a warehouse?
Hi, how long does the processing usually take?
Hi Rami ! Can you share the raw data with L2, i want to compare with L1?
Am i watching Rami or Vice Grip Garage. That intro is the same song
For flying height, can it be at a height of 250 m?
Wires work well if you fly along them, and if you fly across the wires, they don,t so well. On L1 so
Serious question: does someone know, what is the maine purpose of the matrice 350 rtx?
Rami, next time around let me know - Ill bring my Aeropoints 2.0 to help out. I am less than a mile away from you.
Is it compatible with ArcGIS Pro?
Raw data processing takes place in dji terra, and then the cloud can be in arcGis pro😊
@@aldima2405 Anyway you can send me a small sample. I'm trying to talk out management into getting this setup.
There's a few powerlines missing. Is that normal?

You can fly manually. You would have to run the calibration to get the IMU warmed up, and then you'll have about 3 minutes to collect data manually.
To use NTRIP, are you not connecting to your mobile phone hotspot? Or does this new controller have a SIM card slot.
The RC pro controller for the Matrice can use a SIM card or hotspot for internet connection
@ramitamimi when will you try out Geo Sun lidars? Answer please friend, or you ignore ppl asking questions?
Please sir, Can I have some more data on this!

Yes it does, I will definitely put something out about it in the near future!

why there are missing parts of the power line masts?

Nice video but violating FAA part 107. But you know this since you are a licensed UAV pilot.
dont forget to say the whole cost arount 30 000 Euros

No thanks I'll wait for L3 instead.
DJI have great drones, but support is pathetic
Are you violating FAA federal rules? I did not see you observing and keeping the drone in sight.
Nope, drone was in site the whole time.
Also was flying over public roads with people and moving traffic below. Not allowed per Part 107! At least for the first and last legs...
It would be good to see this unit reviewed with vegetation which is the selling feature of LiDAR.
