Used to listen to Sammy Allred and Bob Cole on the radio in the morning on the way to school. He reminded me of my 5th grade teacher - both reformed hillbillys that loved Texas and Texans.
These guys were just brilliant. And amazing, working "Anchors Away" bridge (note another H2O metaphor) into "Over the Rainbow." Where else but Austin could produce such? Guitar and mandolin in their hands were (notwithstanding always impeccably on note) like sharp axes in hands of master cedar choppers. They got Texas, they got Austin, and particularly a south Austin ethos, to the world.
If you are going to screwup a great song, do it right. The Gezinslaw Brothers did it right here. Good singing and picking. Sammy Alred was a fine mandolinist.
@@Dragline50 had it on a CD once and it was titled 'Country Rap' am aware of the 'Help I'm White And I Can't Get Down' even put on the jukebox at my favorite waterin' hole and would time to time holler 'Who wants to hear Country Rap? and I would get a resounding NO! every time 🙄
How rude and insulting the comment about older women and desperation to be wanting to date a murderer! It isn’t funny if is disrespectful and disgusting!

Loved these guys. First saw them at a fund raiser for Gerald Mann's church.
I saw them at a Willie Nelson picnic about 50 years at a hot as hell ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas.

That's funnier than the bad joke. Relax and laugh a bit. It'll be alright.
The last sentence of your comment pretty well sums up my feelings on what you wrote. Dang it was a joke.
