Hey I’m going to university 2022 hopefully. I’be got an interest in sports therapy/ rehab however looking at courses in the UK there are so many. I’m really confused about the difference between sports therapy and Rehabilitation. Many courses I’ve looked into are: sport and exercise therapy ,sports therapy, sports rehabilitation and sports therapy and Rehabilitation. It’s hard to choose between the similar courses.
@@RecoverWellPhysio honestly there was no point in me applying to do physio as I've only done sport qt college and no where would accept. I'm much more interested in MSK anyway so I've applied for sports therapy courses for September intake. Where did you go to university?
@@meganthompson1722 that’s fair you’ll definitely enjoy it! Literally the only things which I can fault about it is the jobs prospects at the end of it! However, Sports Therapy is growing as an occupation and I have seen a lot more jobs since I started uni back in 2020! Just to let you know when I suggest to fo physio you will understand why because us and physio’s pretty much have the same Skill set when it comes to MSK pathologies, (we also do learn, nerve/brain and other illnesses not just MSK) but not the depth as a physio would do to rehab a patient. Long story short the world will view us as MSK physios but won’t hire you as a physio because you’re not under HCPC. The positive to take from this is that it is growing and becoming more recognised! I’ve got to a uni South
I do sport therapy going into my 3rd year in September I did do sport rehab at a london uni but switched to another one to do sport therapy honestly you learn the same things! Just different accreditation bodies sport rehab is accredited by BASRAT and sport therapy is accredited by the society of sport therapists
Thank you for this video it’s great 👍
