I appreciate your positive attitude towards b42. The loudest voices in the community seem to concentrate on the negatives, which is a shame considering how crazy ambitious this new build is.
I've seen it getting a lot of grief, and there are certainly some areas that need improvement but as a whole I'm really enjoying it and it really is one hell of an ambitious build! I think if they updated the game to this with no option to return to build 41 I'd be a little frustrated, but it's completely optional and it's actually pretty solid, hard to complain really!
It's like they don't realize it's an unstable beta getting patched basically daily -- build 41 when it first came out had its dodgy moments, multiplayer had REALLY dodgy moments early on, etc.
Well, there is a lot they improved but they also changed things that weren’t necessary and added things that very few will use. I know it is an unstable beta build and they will adjust things, but I think they are trying to do too much which is why build 42 took so long.
I think it’s a big step in the right direction but definitely trying to manage too much at once, I think the ui changes alone should’ve been a separate thing so they could polish it and then release the full crafting update and then brought the animals after but I have faith in them, they’ve gotten us this far!
@@VulrhundI think this too, but then again I’ve never done serious coding or have been a project manager on a game, so I just assume they are doing it in a specific order for coding purposes? Idk, but it’s amazing they still work on the game at all considering they have our money already. Sometimes I feel like the game is designed and built by a talented friend who does it as an amazing hobby instead of as a product - so I sort of get whatever they think is important at the time, regardless of what I think.
22:33 Cologne can be used to sterilise bandages in vanilla B41 and B42. Essential if you wish to save bourbon for the purposes which the gods intended. The Ovo Farmhouse has a pretty decent fixed basement accessed from the back porch.
It’s been good fun, and a huge welcome change to my normal play style. Can’t wait to get out of here and go do something though I’m losing my brain a bit :D
its best if you save empty tin cans if you plan on using baseball bats. you can use them and some other things to make a can reinforced bat. im not sure but i think its better than a nail bat, plus it lets you save on nails
Now that's not a bad idea. So used to just scrapping them but now they have a purpose it makes sense to keep hold of them. Pretty sure all crafted weapons are just way better than the scavenged ones
You can make some good club weapons with those bones. 21:12 Eh, give it a shot, maybe that carpet would look better with the butcher hook on it. You use empty tin cans for can reinforced weapons. You gain the recipe at level 5 short blunt if you don't find the magazine. Get a medium handle and strap a tin can to it. Got that cambels soup right up in their faces.
I did have a look through the build menu and found them, got some good crafting coming soon once we hit level 5! The butcher hook probably wasn’t my best idea but we move, gotta learn the hard way sometimes :D
@@Vulrhund I found the recipe and made a bucket maul. It's got full damage bar, it's a beast at breaking doors down. To use it in combat I reckon you'd want level 10 fitness and strength.
If you haven’t already, you might want to add food or water to the feeding trough in the hutch itself for when the chickens are shut in for the night 🐣
I'm sure you've been checking Gavin's leg, but if it's healed up to only a laceration or something, then the splint is going to keep him limping, making him walk slower. Yay, Big Red!! ❤ He looks happier already to be away from those zeds!
The fractures still there, it can't be far off but it's still got a little ways to go, really am counting down the days! Think the best thing this leg has done for us has given plenty of time to clear the area and catch up with skills, all up from a good leg!
Fifth horseman here. Batteries do behave weird in the new Build. However I'd suggest to just keep your car running when on smaller loot runs. That will preserve and recharge battery. Update, I did get a foothold near the Jamieton Military Surplus store, but had to take out 300 zeds. 300 more remain. Triggered a car alarm which made things a wee bit complicated. While I am at it, a belated tribute to our nomad!
They're very frustrating aren't they, I get that they're going to go down when not in use but as quickly as they do is a killer! Keeping it running on little trips is what I'm kind of trying to do but then I get too ambitious and I'm scared it'll run out of fuel :D Aye nice! 600 zeds is wild that place does not sound pretty! Good luck with the car alarm too that sounds way worse :D He deserved the best, the legend he was!
Two tips: 1. The car battery charges as the car is running, so if you leave it idling it will charge. The downside is that it wastes gas. 2. Always check trash bags in trash bins and containers as they can have some good stuff. I found a sledgehammer in the trash in front of a gas station in WP
I need to start leaving it running when just doing little in out trips, just habit! I was getting good at keeping on top of them then completely forgot but after that unreal luck l I’ll be checking them all!
Yeah I think you're right, it made sense to get it away from the animals in my head but the second I spilled everything on the floor I regretted it immediately :D
Hahaha you both make it sound like I’m crazy, just don’t wanna upset the animals (even if they are completely virtual and aren’t programmed for it in the slightest)
@Vulrhund well you may also want to take into account the space needed to process the leather you gather at butchering. I've remodelled the downstairs for all that.
Way too quickly, I get them draining when not in use but I should be able to drive it once a week and keep it charged that way, bit of a nightmare at the minute
