Indeed it is. this pedal is actually the first darkglass pedal I ever own and I totally dig it. it's been on my pedalboard for almost 2 years and I still use it today.
After watching this video, so glad I bought the B3K instead. I would never use those harsher tones in any bands I'm in. The B3K way more subtle, modern for my needs. But I can see where one might want these tones. More power to em. Plus I couldn't figure out how that ERA knob worked; til now. lol. Still very happy w my DG B3K-V2.
Well the B3K is more modern, sounds more like a darkglass product, and is good for jazz fusion or metal. It's more "darkglassy" to me. I however, am gonna get the Vintage Microtube because I play on an active bass and on a transistor amp and I want to aproximate the natural overdrive of valve amps, which this pedal does very well

Fresh strings (although these probably weren't), a nice clean amp (I used a Warwick LWA 1000 on this video) and a nice cab (in this case it was a 8x10 Ampeg impulse, probably mic'ed with a Shure Beta 52, so no need for a real, big and expensive cab if you're just recording).
@@VictorHugoTargino I kinda sortoff feel like it's my TRBX505 Pickups that aren't as snappy, they sound amazing but the treble snapiness bite is what I'm missing, running a peavey headliner 600 through a peavey 4x10 but don't think those are the fanciest either haha
@@alahad Try using only the neck pickup. I usually just ignore the bridge pickup because they tend to feel a little bit nasal and lack that nice top end crisp. Also, the Darkglass Harmonic Booster or the Tone Capsule might help you out a bit!
Hi Victor, I just had mine delivered yesterday and I'm currently testing it. Question, does the volume of your signal go up the more you add drive? I keep the Level in the same position but the more I add drive the pedal goes off unity gain. I'm not sure if this is normal or if I have a defective unit. Thanks!
It's normal. If I'm not mistaken, when you bring the gain up, you're pushing the signal up against a ceiling, so the perceived average loudness changes, even though the peak volume stays mostly the same. After setting your desired amount of gain and EQ, readjust to unity by switching the pedal on and off and comparing. If you're using a lot of pedals, do that with all of them so everything sounds even. Don't worry about leaving the volume knob at noon, always adjust according to YOUR needs. I hope this helps! Victor Hugo Targino apart from this being my first Darkglass pedal, this is also my first time using a dedicated dirt box. Before, all of my drive used to come from an MXR M80. I eventually outgrew the sound and now I’m exploring different bass ODs. Thank you for the sound advice. More power to you and your channel!

UGH!!! Play clean why don't you. I hate all this demos, all distorted. It's easy to make things distort....it is harder to produce a good clean sound!! That's what I want to hear.
So go search around for what you want to hear. There are plenty more demos of this - roll the drums - distortion pedal on TH-cam that may be more of your taste.
